First, Connell addressed the nation with all the microphones @telefunken_mics then we prepartied on the best stage with the best sound -> @skappository and @plasticpres402 blew our minds -> we raised swords with @sgtscag -> went "skadiving" with @taketoday -> enjoyed @ghosttones in their "stomping ground" -> and did too many squats for a vid but Heather took a "dangerous" selfie hanging with our pals in @hansgruberandthediehards (featuring @gartywood) Such an amazing inspiring weekend seeing incredible bands with good friends and the best vibes all around. Hey Everyone, @matamoska has their album coming out tomorrow and they just flew in to Connecticut for SPI Fest and for their album release tour! However, Spirit airlines made them pay extra for their insruments once they were at the airport, so instead of flying the discount airline, they ended up paying more than if they flew a normal airline. On top of that, the airline left their merch in Texas, so they can't even sell their merch at the album release show. Because @tara_redacted and I were traveling light, I didn’t get a lot of merch. I ordered this record and this shirt. @josephmedwards shipped them out immediately. Late Saturday Night spin with Flying Racoon Suit @flyingraccoonsuit from Mississippi, Afterglow, released in 2021, in this beautiful multi-color splatter vinyl. Dang! This album sounds as good as it looks! One of the few🙄 additions to the collection from #spifest in Austin last weekend and one of the bands that I wasn’t familiar with, prior to last weekend, and can tell you that it’ll definitely be spinning on a regular basis going forward! Love the originality of their sound, which feels to me like French burlesque meets Ska-Punk, or somewhere along those lines. Either way, is pretty darn good and can’t wait to discover more of their music and catch one of their live shows once again! It’s been a week since #spifest in Austin and here I am, wishing that life were more like a #skapunkfest all of the time!
