I look forward to hear how these boards work for her. When you look at the boards on the wall at your local #Skateshop you get dizzy looking at the assortment of #SkateTivity on the wall, you might blurt out a width and most likely have changed you mind a few times along the way. If your disciplined, you have figured out what works for you, and you do not sway too far away and may even think beyond width to your #SkateboardWheelbase and #FingersOfFlat I used Google to do some research and here is what I found about the Average Female Height 5 ft 4” in the USA 1.65m 5ft 3” World 1.59m 5ft Asia 1.52m Average Male Height 5 ft 9” USA 1.77m 5ft 7.5” World 1.71 m 5ft 7” Asia 1.69m Skateboarding is all about adapting and there is no right or wrong if you’re having fun, just the #WillingnessToTry I made my #CreateAskateHeightChart for skaters to grow up with yet many do not grow to fit the average 14.25” wheelbase of this last decade. If they’re under 5ft 3” they should consider a shorter board. For #SkateScienceSunday We talk about the #SkateScience & #SkateboardHistory Of the skateboard truck hole pattern. Here we see two Original Bruce Logan @LoganEarthSki in both a 27-inch and 29-inch version. The 27 inch came from the collection of @GraySlide And the 29 inch came from the @SkateboardingHallOfFame via #RobinLogan @LoganSkateboards The 27 inch seems to be #RedOak and the 29 inch seems to be #WhiteOak. These boards were also made in #Rosewood and #Almondwood My first pro level board was a Logan, I’m not sure what model but I purchased it as #SkateWaveSkatepark in Tampa Florida in 1977. It was un drilled and they pulled out a drilling jig to drill it. I put on trackers, so I started with the #OldSchoolTruckHolePattern Who rode one of these back in the 70’s? Anyone interested in getting an authentic reproduction? @TrackerTrucks set the standard starting in 1975 till 1993. Then the #NewSchoolTruckHolePattern became the standard as the crew @VentureTrucks Felt they needed to empower the nose sliding Teamriders who were grinding the mounting nuts and bolts, and this resulted in the need for a hacksaw to change your board. This was a common occurrence we saw @PStix in the early 90s and riders would come in to work on there boards In my #Workshop I’m helping Robin develop some reproductions of these boards. So, when you see ‘80A’, think of it as the Iron Man of wheels—very stiff, hard, and suited for superhero landings with little to no flex. 🚗 And what’s with 70A? That’s your wheel if it’s as tough as a car tire—great for making molds for concrete stuff like paving stones because it doesn’t need to flex like a gymnast. 👉 But wait, there’s a twist! Soft wheels? Sure, they grip the road like your grandma holding onto that last piece of pie—perfect for smooth cruising. But bomb a hill with them? As part of our #CreateASkate segment, we dive into the rich history of Florida skateboarding. 🛹 Here is an example of one of our ‘challenges’ where students dropped into the fascinating world of the Ollie! Homework optional, and they could choose how to present it. Some write, some do videos, some build a model, some act it out, but the quest for knowledge is always encouraged. We’re blown away by the research and #skativity our students bring to the table – they’re not just learning about skateboarding; they’re honing their writing, research, and presentation skills. Who says history can’t be hands-on and thrilling? 🤔💡 @alanolliegelfand the kids have been begging to meet you sometime.
