A Global South perspective means that the world needs to break the barriers of development or cultural differences to reduce impacts under the water resources over the world. It means, also, the need to bring together researchers, policymakers, and stakeholders from North and South to reconcile the multiple uses of the water with the challenges for conservation in the face of climate change and human pressures. To maintain and restore our water resources, we will need to work together on a common path! One year from now, on May 5th, 2024, we will be together once again for SIL Congress 101, in Foz do Iguaçu, in southern Brazil. After almost 30 years, SIL Congress returns to Brazil. And it couldn’t be in a more symbolic place. Foz do Iguaçu has the largest set of waterfalls in the world. The famous Iguaçu Falls demilits by water a triple border of three South American countries: Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay. However, water is not the only element in abundance in Foz do Iguaçu.
