Said to be one of the best ‘Siu lap’ places in Montreal. Some dishes were really good, others were ok. . Siu lap dish (roasted meats) with siu knap (roasted duck), siu yuk (roasted pork), char siu (sweet roast pork) and see yau gai (soy sauce chicken). The pork weren’t bad though the char siu was better. The roast duck we had wasn’t very good. The soy sauce chicken was very very good, moist and a good combination of sweet and soy. I’d have bought a whole chicken to take home if I didn’t have so many meals planned . Wonton soup. Soup was ok (could have had a bit more pepper) but the wontons were very very good (juicy and Dan ngaa or bouncy) . Fried rice. Wanted to try it out. Good flavour, on the slightly oily side but it had good wok hei. . OK this looks terrible but was actually rather tasty — Cantonese style chicken poached in a brew of two kinds of soy sauce, #Chinese rice wine, scallions, many slices of ginger, smashed garlic cloves, cardamom, #Sichuan peppercorns, cinnamon sticks & Star anise.
