Wow 😭 Some of you know I started #LawSchool after graduating from the @UniversityOfRedlands. I was the first in my entire fam to earn a BA...& I did it in 3 yrs with Phi Beta Kappa honors as an All-American athlete. Being in the Running Start program (going to college in HS) is how I assimilated into university--but there was nothing like that for law school. When I walked into #SeattleU, there were 500 ppl! I never had a class in an auditorium at the U of R. I've always been a front row student...but I sat in the back. Plus, I had just opened a business #DoItYourselfDocuments (I didn't know any better). I felt like I was at the Republican Nat'l Convention...I was surrounded by men talking about getting rich 🤮 I couldn't breathe! I don't even know if I had an advisor. There was no orientation or "Summer Bridge." I was also dealing with my abusive mom luring me back to Seattle only to subsequently kick me out...I remember sleeping on the floor of my biz & eating spaghetti sauce sandwiches. I quit school & returned to Redlands. The other reason this has been so hard is because, due to my PTSD, I can't take a standardized test to save my life. Seriously, I'm lucky to have a driver's license (after being Drivers Ed Student of the Month!) I never got credit on an AP test. People are always confused about why I went to a D3 college...because no D1/2 school accepted me. As "Most Likely to Succeed," I only got a 1200 on the SAT (after taking it 3x). Nevertheless, this summer I completely relearned algebra & still only scored "has a pulse" on the GRE. Writing doesn't trigger me...got top 2% there. Sigh! How does a white woman get an inclusivity scholarship? (We are the majority of law students now). How did I go from wait list to scholarship? I wrote about my life-long battle against PTSD ❤️ After getting rejected from 8 law schools, I closed the door on this dream (again). Not sure what to do now! I'd be 50 when I graduate. Is it worth the debt? The bar exam is likely to be a thing of the past by then. After applying, the universe sent me so many signs that the freedom my current lifestyle affords is the true American Dream 🤷♀️ Ugh! Help! #FirstGen

On that solo trip from the Midwest, I did many things for the first time. One of them was going to the Tulip Festival. They’re my favorite flower (and I have a particular one I love). • Ten years later—growth and new opportunities. I accepted a job at a Level 1 Trauma Center in order to continue growing as an Emergency RN. I hope this step will be a foundation to what I aspire to do within the next few years. Ingredients: 🔹 1 cup (6 ounces; 180g) unhulled white sesame seeds (see note) 🔹 2 cups (1 1/2 ounces; 45g) dried za’atar leaves, firmly packed (see note) 🔹 1 tablespoon (7g) sumac 🔹 3/4 teaspoon (3g) Diamond Crystal kosher salt; for table salt, use about half as much by volume or the same weight Instructions: 🔸 In an 8- or 10-inch stainless steel skillet, heat sesame seeds over medium-low heat, stirring continuously to avoid scorching, until aromatic and starting to pop, about 8 minutes. Transfer toasted sesame seeds to a bowl to cool completely. 🔸 Using a blender or spice grinder, and working in batches if necessary, grind za’atar leaves and one-third of the toasted sesame seeds to a fine powder. Transfer mixture to a large bowl, then whisk in the remaining sesame seeds along with the sumac and salt until well combined. Try to make this easy Guatemalan rice that can be served with almost any food. People often pair it with black beans, salsa, and corn tortillas. Ingredients: 🔹 1 ½ tablespoons vegetable oil 🔹 1 cup long-grain rice 🔹 1 tablespoon minced onion 🔹 1 tablespoon minced tomato 🔹 2 cups water 🔹 2 tablespoons chopped carrot 🔹 1 tablespoon chopped celery 🔹 2 teaspoons chicken bouillon granules Instructions: 🔸 Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add rice, onion, and tomato; cook and stir until rice turns light golden brown, 3 to 4 minutes. 🔸 Stir water, carrot, celery, and chicken bouillon into the skillet. Simmer until most of the water is absorbed, about 8 minutes. Cover and simmer until rice is tender, 5 to 8 minutes more.
