Happy 1st of May to you all! I'm still here working away like a busy bee stepping into day 3 of sawing, sanding and prepping some more shops that will be coming this Friday. It's all the little details that take sooo long but the best bit is bringing them all together and turning old wood into something bright, colourful and new! 😍 I'll be adding more Beach Stores, Shell Shops, Sweet Shops & a NEW design The Rock Shop! Activity Day in St Ives! 💦 Hey everyone, we’ve just had the best day exploring St. Ives! (we had never actually been before but so glad we finally did). We started off with a morning surf lesson, catching some awesome waves. Then we wandered around the town and stumbled upon a cute little art gallery @porthminstergallery with some amazing local pieces (I treated myself to a beautiful vase, I just couldn’t resist). After that, we worked up an appetite and indulged in some delicious Cornish pasties for lunch from @philps_famous_pasties (I always choose a traditional pastie for my Cornish lunch!). Next up was a visit to the Tate St. Ives, where we saw some truly incredible modern art installations. To finish off the day, we hiked up to the St. Ives Head, taking in some breath-taking views of the ocean and coastline for sunset, the colours of the sky were incredible! The downstairs bit is like a cool seaside shop with souvenirs & stuff, and the upstairs is called Roger’s Emporium, and there are lots of different dealers, with vintage bric a brac, clothes, books, records, antiques etc.. and if you like lego there’s a room full of that too. Morning all ☀️ It has felt like a very unusual few days after the events of the last week both personally and in the shop. I received the very positive news that I am still cancer free 2 years after treatment which we celebrated as a family. Then the tragic passing of the Queen meant there were lots of questions about loss from my very inquisitive 4 year old. A mixed bag of emotions. The sun is shining today and I am taking that as a win. The door is open, the music is playing and the shop is always a calm and safe space for a chat or a quiet browse.
