Something new on the palette today. The beautiful wee Scottish Primrose. This flower is endemic to the North of Scotland. It can only be found in the wild in Orkney, Caithness & Sutherland. It flowers from May to July & is distinctly purple. Also known as fairy cups, primroses have been considered an important plant to work with the Fae & protect from evil spirits in some Celtic traditions. Generally, they are associated with the meanings of true love, joy, birth & new beginnings. I have literally hundreds of pieces of wood to paint, but I'm not sure how much I'll get done with this little pudding on my lap today. A huge thank you to all of the organisers & volunteers, the competitors, spectators, performers & traders who collectively made Stirling Highland Games a great experience! And what a perfect setting! With the sun shining through the dark clouds onto the hills, overlooked by the Wallace monument. 👌🏻 We had such a fun day meeting people from all over the world & connecting through mutual loves of travel, culture, creativity & Scotland!
