The improved version of my midterm model! Using some feedback I was able to add some scuffing to more of the metal textures and add some different cloth colors to give more distinction. Every year, @cgt_purdue puts on a student showcase called Fractal, so I put my project in the running to show! But as I moved on my creative journey I started painting my Plobots and doing backgrounds on pieces as well as canvases and my digital work. But the foundation of all my work lies in graffiti, that urge to see my name everywhere. Now, don't get me wrong I love street art, in fact some of the earliest artists I got into many years ago were street artists with people like dface, obey and swoon. but it wasn't what I fell in love with when I was travelling in France. Adapting real-life robots into characters! All of these guys are present in the world of W1N5T0N and R081N, with a common thread: they all have started showing off behaviors beyond their programming. - Hero is an off-the-shelf robot toy, built mostly to be a gimmick, equipped with simple item handling and locomotion… but it doesn’t stop him from believing he is meant to be the action hero his product box advertises him to be! One day he will prove that he truly is a hero and save the world… long as he doesn’t run out of his 1.5 hour battery before then. - Malcolm is a dutiful delivery bot with a horrible sense of direction. His internal navigations are horribly glitched, and he has resorted to relying on kind humans around him who can give him directions. Though it may arrive late, he won’t let anything stop him from completing his task… not even stairs (even if it takes him a while). - Sparks is a quadrupedal machine built for anything from surveillance to labor assistance, using a modular arm attachment. When R081N found him, he was lost, far from his homebase network, defaulting to his routine surveillance mode.
