Golden Mao Feng is a lovely earthy tea ☕️ grown in Yunnan, China. It is a smooth black tea with mellow hints of sugarcane on the pallet. The leaves 🍃 of this tea look like they are surrounded with soft fine golden hairs which is where its name translates to “hairy mountain tea”. This made me chuckle 🤭 as I sipped the remaining cup of my second steep. It’s almost like a Golden Monkey tea but slightly sweeter. I think this is a must try for any tea lovers out there. Magic Hour Soulmate is a chocolate 🍫 raspberry rose 🌹 black tea that is giving me all the feels. I sipped this tea ☕️ and immediately told myself I was adding the sugar that it needed to really shine ✨ . Just a little extra sweetness for my taste buds to bring that chocolate forward to blend so beautifully with the fruity raspberry and ever so subtle and soft rose. I LOVE chocolate, mmhmm, when blended with tea though - I have probably poured out more cups than drank that are considered “chocolate” teas. Some days you have to pause ⏸️ and look 👀 deeper to truly find those moments of gratitude. After work, my car 🚗 broke down in the middle of a very busy road 😵💫and my nervous system was on overload thinking of how to get the car pulled over safely, while my mind was racing at the thought of how much it will cost 💰 to not only tow but fix whatever is wrong with it. But after calling my husband, he immediately called a tow truck and headed my way to pick me up. As I was calling to cancel an appt I had later, he told me to keep my pedicure appt and use his truck 🛻 to go. I’ve been making a conscious effort to not break my dates of self care the last couple of months so I decided to stick with it, even though all I really wanted to do was go home and crawl into 🛌 after that fiasco. So grateful 🥹 for him tonight and giving me a little push and reminded me that these things happen and to continue to keep my “me time” appt. Tonight called for something a bit stronger than tea 🫖 before my appt, so pecan whiskey 🥃 it is 😘. Goodnight 🌙 my tea friends! My “counter top” tea stash is a never ending battle. I just have lots of tea ok 🤷🏻♀️, so it’s always just a matter of a couple days before I have a big pile next to my kettle 🫖. Of course when I saw this tea tin storage holder at Harney & Sons website recently I decided to buy it! It came today which was perfect timing as I was doing a huge reorganization effort on my tea cabinet/drawers most of the day. I still am only 50% done and decided against posting my chaos pictures trying to sort through my stash because I’m not sure how to feel about it 🤣🤣🤣. Let’s hope I can keep things better organized next to the kettle🤞🏻. I love my @harneytea teas organizer made out of bamboo. My mind wants to tell me I can only put my Harney tea tins in it though 🫣. The tea was naturally creamy with a robust earl grey flavor I was hoping for and with plenty of Bergamot to bring out the citrus pairing. 8 Immortals Oolong from @Tearunners is an exceptional oolong with multiple steeps. I started sipping this tea around noon and just had my last cup a few minutes ago as I am getting ready to say goodnight. I received this in my February Tea box and glad I finally jumped into brewing it today. I can easily see how this is an Award winning tea - 2nd place in the Aged Oolong category. I am not sure how many aged oolongs I have even tried but I will be searching out more of this smooth and woodsy brew. It had a very in depth flavor profile with a baked/roasted aroma too. The story behind 8 immortals Oolongs tea dates back to the Ming Dynasty. Many different tea types were being cultivated on the same mountain region it was experiencing a particularly dry Summer season one year. A forest fire broke out and devastated most of the tea crops in the area. In one of the fields, all but 8 individual tea trees were burned to the grounds. These eight surviving tea plants were all of the same cultivar and soon after were called the 8 Immortals. Leap Day meant it was time for me to finally sip my sample of Lovers Leap from a tea friend who gifted me a sample (Thank you Cayla!) From @smithteamaker “A delicate, fragrant marriage of high grown Ceylon tea from Lover’s Leap Tea Estate, coupled with pink rose petals, hand-sorted chamomile petals and subtle citrus flavors. Alice in Wonderland is one of my favorite stories and I had admired this tea set for years before my husband surprised me with it as a Christmas present 2 years ago. This year he bought me this tea from @harneytea. Fast forward a few weeks ago, I finally took out my mother’s Cabinet that I inherited when she passed in 2015. It had been stored in a downstairs bedroom, empty. Never really knowing what I should do with it, and perhaps procrastinating because the loss of my mom still hurts. Hello my beautiful Queens & Kings! I hope your weekend has been relaxing and full of tea moments 🫖. Today’s afternoon tea was an aged white tea, Fuding Shou Mei White Tea mini Cake from @teavivre I received in my recent @Sipsby tea box. I found this little tea cake to be unique as I’ve only had pressed tea on a couple occasions. It has a light smooth mouth feel with refreshing aroma with a slightly sweet finish. This tea was harvested in 2018 and pressed in 2020. I might reorder this one because it is a perfect and unique tea to share with my tea loving 🥰 friends. It is said to be better as it ages so I also wouldn’t have to worry about feeling guilty about not sipping it down quickly. In fact, I’d be doing this tea a favor by saving it for later ♥️. I also feel intrigued into learning more about aged tea after trying this beautiful brew. Have you ever had a White Peach Oolong Oreo cookie? Me Either until a few minutes ago! I love having a snack adventure paired with my tea journey 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻. These were yummy and so unique. I wasn’t sure after I smelled them because honestly peach flavor with chocolate just isn’t a combo I would ever think to put together. I wouldn’t say they are my favorite Oreos, BUT these are definitely one of the most exciting Snacks I’ve tried recently. It’s like the Kit Kat combos I’ve seen online that are only available outside of USA. I’ve always wanted to try those. (Hint Hint Thuy & John for a future box?). Harney & Sons 30th Anniversary Blend This blend has large black tea leaves sprinkled with Chinese Silver Needle and Yunnan Golden Tips. When I brewed it, it was a rich brown liquor with an aroma of toasty and earthiness reminiscent of some of my favorite Assams. This is a medium bodied black tea. The strength from the Ceylon and Assam are lightened be the Silver Tips and Golden Tips. The taste is consistent with traditional flavors of good Ceylon and I also detect notes of honey 🍯, earthiness, and imagine it would easily stand up to milk/sugar if you prefer those. I’m happy I finally pop the top off this beautiful black tin and tried this lovely blend. This beautiful Pomegranate Rose 🌹 green tea blend is from @boulderteaco . It was a surprise Christmas gift from my Mother in Law and I had never heard of this blend before. My love/hate relationship with green tea made me a little hesitant if I’d enjoy this but as soon as I opened the tin and smelled the floral and fruity softness to this blend I knew it would be special ❤️. The Boulder Tea Company created this blend to commemorate the 25 years of friendship with their sister city, Dushanbe Tajikistan. They wanted to feature the rose gardens of Persia and sacred Pomegranate of Central Asia. These flavors were well balanced and made for a special cup. Isn’t the artwork on this Tea Tin just gorgeous 😍! I’ve been eyeing some of their teaware with this print on their website and I’m in love with it. This blend brews up wonderfully and I did enjoy it with no sweetener but my second brew I added a bit of honey and it really made the fruity notes shine through. I would definitely repurchase this one. This green tea blend is definitely on my love list ❤️🌹.
