JUNE RALLY - Proud Is an understatement. So much improvement & confidence over more & more fences. Maverick really seems to enjoy jumping in general but we have some work to do together to really understand the ques for a more forward canter but at the moment, we are enjoying the steadiness (any tips for a steady leg would be appreciated). Absolutely demolished games, for a large boy he could move & loved it. Only did a half day for an unfortunate event & some bruising on his sole. Murray Pony Club hosted a Biggest Morning Tea at our rally on May 26th with a sea of yellow, the kids all dressed in yellow and we held a long table of delicious morning tea goodies baked by our amazing pony club mums. We had GrandParents, Great Grand Parents, Aunties/ Uncles and so many special people attend our morning tea. Festivities were ran during the morning and the highlight was a Hobby Horse Race that saw nearly 25 kids compete in on foot with their Hobby Horse. Prizes were awarded for best yellow costume and so many smiles and community spirit were felt during the day. BRILLIANT BONNY 💗 Lucinda, from Barwon Valley Pony Club in VIC, told us all about her 13.1hh mare, and why she deserves to be Pony of the Week. Here's what she had to say: "Bonnie (KRP Bonanza) is such a sweetheart and does her best for me all the time. She has taught me so much, as I've only been riding for a short time. We have come along so much together and have won so many competitions. She has made all my dreams and goals come true. "Bonnie is even happy to wear her BFF bracelet all the time which I made for her. We have different colours and styles for events! "Bonnie isn't just great at one thing, she can do them all and always really well. She is fantastic at sand dancing, jumping (she goes off!), eventing is no worries and games? Easy peasy! Showing is probably her downfall as she is a grey and loves to role in the dirt. But, if we can manage to keep her upright and keep her clean, then we are all good. CARING CLANCY 🦄 Lucy, from Keira Pony Club in NSW, and her mum, Emma, told us all about their dear old boy, and why he deserves to be Horse of the Week. Here's what they had to say: "Clancy is a 21-year-old, 15.2hh stockhorse who belongs to Lucy's nan, Sue. Lucy started riding Clancy when she was three and is now five years old," Emma says. "Clancy has played polo x, campdrafted and done many other disciplines in his life, however he is now semi-retired and his is final job is to teach Lucy to ride. They regularly attend rallies, gymkhanas and zone mounted games. Last year they won the highest attendance award at presentation. "Outside of pony club, they like to go team sorting (or chasing cows as they call it), competing at local Ag shows in the versatility/obstacle courses and sporting events, and they LOVE a dress up. Clancy has acquired quite the wardrobe since becoming a little girl's best friend. "Lucy loves to lead him around, brush him, and also sneak him carrots when she can. Clancy seems to know his job is to take care of Lucy and he is very gentle with her." 💚 Well done, Lucy and Clancy! It's wonderful to see you trying so many things together and taking care of each other like best friends should. Wishing you many more happy adventures! An absolute massive 3 days at the State Equestrian Centre for Immi and Cassie competing in their first PCWA State Showjumping Championship. Some highs, some lows and lots of things to learn and take away to work on. Their first night in the indoor arena for the first time together was their highlight with a super clear round coming 4th in the 80cm Special Two Phase. The following day was the ultimate low of the weekend where Cass sent Immi through the jump.. alone 🫣 But she got up, walked it off and was back on again today like a true champ and rode 2 other lovely 80cm rounds with 12 faults all up. We are so lucky to have had such an amazing support team with our beautiful Dardanup Pony Club team mates to share the weekend with and thank you to my mama for coming along all weekend to help us with running along smoothly. MEMBER MILESTONES ⭐️ Meet Ruby, from @cromptonpark in Queensland. She recently shared with us a significant Pony Club achievement and what it symbolises for her. Here's what she had to say: "It’s not just about the victories, but I couldn’t be prouder of this milestone. Sadly, my beloved horse Whiskey had to retire due to an injury. It was heart breaking, but ultimately the best decision for him. Fortunately, I was offered the opportunity to borrow a horse. Tora became my new riding partner in late January/early February. "Together, we raced to requalify for states. Reaching states alone brought me immense joy and gratitude. Winning my division in jumping equitation was an unexpected bonus. It was a dream I had hoped for one day, but achieving it in just a few months was beyond my wildest imagination." 👏Congratulations, Ruby! PHENOMENAL PO 🚀 Charlotte, from Midlands Pony Club in Tasmania, told us about her mighty mare, and why she deserves to be Pony of the Week. Here's what she had to say. "I wanted to share with you my amazing 13.3hh 1* event pony, Wbn Rommy (aka. Po). I bought Po in 2021 as green-broken project to bring on and sell. "After spending 6 months continuing Po’s education, I decided to keep her to do a season of eventing on her. She qualified for grade 3 PCT state trials at her first 2 events and completed trials finishing in the top 15 on her dressage score. "This year she has competed 1* eventing finishing 2nd on her dressage score at PCT state trials and winning the CD prize for best XC round! Po has also show jumped up to 110 and loves hunting, farm riding a swimming in the river. She definitely proves that it is the size of the heart and the relationship with the rider that matters, not the height of the pony!! "Po and I live near Launceston and we have competed all around the state. We hope to venture to the big island later this year to compete! MIGHTY MAX 🦄 Angus, from @meeniyan_pony_club , told us about his super cool pony and why he deserves to be Pony of the Week. Here's what he had to say (make sure you read all the way to the last line🥰): "My pony Max deserves to be Pony of the Week because he is the cheekiest and he is so much fun. I have had Max for 7 months and I call him Maximus Prime because he is so cool, like the transformers. "My favourite thing to do with Max is games and jumping, but sometimes Mum sets up an obstacle course and I love that too. "Max loves to pull the rugs off the fence and stomp them on the ground. Sometimes he pulls hay bales down from the hay stack and pulls all the feed buckets out too. He also pulls all the head stalls off the hooks and makes a mess, which I think is funny but Mum has to clean it up. "Max is the best pony because even when he is scared, he really tries to be brave, which helps me be brave too." 💚Well done Angus and Max - it takes a very special bond to build the kind of relationship you have developed. Bitless Bridles | We were excited to hear from Ashlee, Bella's mum, about their successful transition of pony Buster to a bitless bridle with the help of Grafton Pony Club. "Bella started transitioning her pony Buster to bitless 2 years ago under the guidance of her wonderful coach Wendy Bruszewski," Ashlee explains. "Since then, the pair have never looked back and ride exclusively bitless. The decision was made due to Buster never looking happy and comfortable with a bit, despite trying every bit on the market and exploring all health related avenues. "As soon as he started going bitless, he was the happiest partner Bella could hope for. The pair have tackled everything from trails to camp drafting to showjumping and sporting. "Grafton Pony Club have been incredibly supportive of Bella riding bitless at rally days and camps. Bella is looking forward to competing the upcoming gymkhana bitless and helping to spread awareness about how to transition safely to bit free riding." 👏 Well done Bella and Buster, it is so great to see you out and about, enjoying everything Pony Club has to offer. Another super week at Zone 16 Camp in Bungendore for many of our riders, parents and volunteers. We are so very lucky to have this event hosted by our zone ❤️🤍🖤 A heartfelt thank you to all the organisers, coaches, kitchen team, all week volunteers and other helpers, your hard work and passion for making camp happen is very much appreciated by CRC members. Our 12 riders who attended this year took a lot out from their lessons and achieved personal goals with their horses. When asked about their camp highlights we got a lot of jumping and cross country, as well as musical ride, cattle and polox! There were many more favourites but we can't list them all. "Hello, my name is Wednesday and I would love to nominate my pony, Honey, for Pony of the Week. "I have had Honey for 6 months and we have just competed in our first ever competition. We did grade 6 combined training and we came 4th. We had the best fun and Honey tried really hard. "Honey is 14hh and she is a silver bay. The thing I love most about Honey is that she is so sweet and very soft. She is my best friend.
