👋🏻 Good afternoon, bit of a late post today as we have been busy with food shopping, homework, crafts and more Christmas decoration removal (slowly coming round to the fact it’s all over for another year but we’ve already decided the decorations are going back up on the 25th November 😂). 🐣 I’ve also been busy seeking new Easter designs including from a couple of new suppliers so watch this space. 🌸 I will be working out my last order dates for Easter and Mother’s Day soon and will post them as soon as I have them fathomed. 🐰 Many of the pieces I have painted in the past are still available like these Easter money holders which are a great way of giving a non chocolate gift and they can be used year after year. 😬 I know it seems really early but with there only being me doing all ordering, painting, sealing, packing and posting I have to keep a 5-6 week turnaround and I already have orders to start on when school returns tomorrow so I’m sorry if anyone isn’t really wanting to think about Easter yet 🙈. Throwback Thursday! 🤦♀️ I almost forgot to post this today and I totally forgot last week so here’s this weeks! It’s actually a throwback but one that’s never been shared as it’s only just been gifted but now I can share it with you 🥰 ☀️ These beach huts were requested by one of my wonderful regular customers. I was given a colour scheme and a request for them to be sat in front of some sand dunes and this is what I created. I love this piece as it’s like looking through a window into a sunny day which is much needed at the moment! 🖌 My work doesn’t always have to be seasonal or themed it can simply be a scene to decorate a room with. There are so many possibilities available and also bespoke possibilities. So I have been finishing pieces off today and have taken stock of my orders lists. ✨ I now have 4 Christmas themed pieces left to paint (which I’m waiting for the supplier delivery for) and 9 other non seasonal pieces to paint. I’m really pleased with the progress I’ve made this week and I thank everyone who has kept me nice and busy 🥰. ❤️ One of my remaining orders includes 2 pieces like I’ve never made before and may never make again as they are a collaboration with the wonderful Greyhound Laser Craft who has now sadly shut down his laser cutter for the foreseeable future and maybe permanently 😢. I’m thoroughly looking forward to painting this piece as it’s a touching bespoke request that’s taken a while to come into existence but I’m very honoured to be asked to make. ⚽️ As I’m not really that interested in the football I shall be sat at my desk contentedly painting away listening to my three shouting and hopefully cheering at the tv in the background 🥰. Good morning, anyone else thinking about putting their tree up soon? I am! 😂 Unfortunately I have to do a huge furniture shuffle to make it happen so that’s the weekends job and then it’ll be up the weekend after 😀. 🎄 Does anyone have theirs up already?! I’d love to see it if you do! I’m starting to get excited even though I’m the least prepared I’ve ever been present wise! 😳 🎄 That leads me nicely on to these little trees that I showed a sneak peek at a while ago. Even after over 3 years of running my page sales posts are uncomfortable but I need to get used to it as I’d really like to be busy painting again next year so it’s time to have a go! ****SOLD**** ✨ These little 3D trees are made of 3mm MDF and measure approx 5.7cm tall, they are handpainted, have glitter tinsel and glossy baubles. ✨ I only have 2 remaining so if anyone would like one or two of them let me know! They are £4 each plus p&p (unfortunately due to the shape of them they will have to be sent small parcel 😔 - currently £2.85 for these alone using second class standard post). ❓So how did I do? I bet no one sees this post now but at least I tried 😂. Evening! One day I will learn that too many hours at my desk painting will always backfire🤦♀️. 🩹 For now though an evening spent with a heat pack on my upper back, paracetamol and an early night are my remedy. Morning! 😳 First of all I am sorry for the very self piteous post yesterday. Sleep has been very patchy lately and it appears the last straw was painting a very complex little cat 😂 who would have known!? 🤷♀️🤦♀️😂 ❤️ Secondly thank you to those who commented and sympathised! I hadn’t expected that and it really meant a lot. Even when you do something you absolutely love there will be down days and days where you aren’t in the right headspace and yesterday was one of them for me. To have support like that when you work alone at home (hubby sits next to me but it’s all very serious conference calls 😴 and he doesn’t really ever stop!) means a huge huge amount so thank you! 🌈 I got 8 hours(!) sleep last night so although a few more of those wouldn’t go amiss I am feeling much more human and am spending the day second coating loads and loads of pretty things while listening to 90’s indie/rock music 😀. WIP Wednesday! 🤪 So this little tinker is giving me a headache I’m not going to lie but I am persevering and I will hopefully achieve a finished result that my customer and I am happy with. 🤔 I’m considering calling it a day on these after this year as I get so stressed over them and they take me so very very long. I love painting them and the feeling of achievement when they are finished is amazing but I am wondering if the turmoil is worth it. Good morning! I hope you all had a good Halloween? November is here and it’s scary how fast time is flying isn’t it?! 🎃 I took little Button trick or treating with her 2 cousins and they had a fab time. It was lovely to see lots of children out and about having fun dressed up. We had a quick tea and then a treasure hunt around the house which Button always loves whatever the occasion 🥰. ✨ We’ve got to the time in the year that’s easily the busiest for many people with lots of things happening with schools and after school, festive prep is being done and I’m working on all of your lovely orders. Good afternoon all! ✨ A bit of a late post but we had a late night last night (we went to Blackpool to see the lights and in total 7 hours driving made it a long day!) Good morning 🙂. 🤞🏻 I hope your week has started well and if you have little ones on half term that the arguments and requests for snacks haven’t been too frequent! ✨ As Mr PBMP is off this week I am painting more than I usually would be in a school holiday 😀. Evening painting is still very much a thing as Button especially isn’t used to being at home while I’m working so I am getting a steady stream of interruptions 😂. I’m working through orders though and I’m waiting patiently for more of the blank pieces to arrive too! 🗓 My order books close tomorrow night (Wednesday 26th October) at midnight after which time I won’t be able to take on any orders for items that are needed before Christmas. I’m open for orders for the new year though although these are unlikely to be started before the new year when schools return. Good morning and happy Monday! I have spent a good while now considering what to do about postage during the strikes next month. 📮 I fully support the Royal Mail workers strike action especially after having a chat with a local post lady the other day. As a result of my consideration I have decided at present to stay with the Royal Mail as my standard method of posting. 🔥 I think there will be a large influx of people moving to other couriers so I think that will have an impact on their service and may even cause backlogs with those couriers so I’m wondering if it would be a case of out of the frying pan and into the fire. Morning and welcome Monday and a new week. ✨ I know many people don’t feel this way but I love Mondays. The promise of a new week of creativity and new pieces to be made as soon as others are finished and posted off to their new homes is just amazing. How do you feel about Mondays? Love them or hate them? 🎅🏻 Christmas is in full swing here and I am feeling very grateful to have had the orders I have in these really quite difficult times. My order books close in just over a weeks time so if you have been considering placing an order there isn’t a lot of time left. I know we haven’t had Halloween yet so closing my Christmas books must sound crazy but with one pair of hands doing all of the various tasks it’s just impossible to stay open much later. Good morning! 😴 So I am probably going to be producing really boring posts for a while I’m afraid as I am really pushing myself to get as many orders painted as quickly as I can as I am getting a little nervous about the upcoming postal strikes. As a result I’m not giving social media much headspace, sorry 😬. 🎶 I currently have 10 gingerbread men almost completed, 2 gingerbread family plaques ready to be shaded, 2 cat snowglobes at base coating stages, 8 Christmas jumpers partly base coated, 4 mandalas to be sealed and strung, a new baby piece in the colour planning stage and an autumn wreath to start. (Sounds a little like a well known Christmas song 😂). 📮 I’m waiting on another supplier order to be despatched which I’m hoping will be very soon 🤞🏻 but please know I’m doing all I can to ensure everyone gets their order in a timely manner and ready well in time for the festive season. 🤔 I’m mulling over how I’m going to tackle the constant run of strike dates in November and will make a final decision over the weekend. I fully support the postal workers and understand why they are striking but I also don’t want to have huge delivery delays happen for my customers (and even worse pieces go missing as I would genuinely cry - what a wally 🤦♀️😂). I am aware that quite a lot of people may move temporarily to other couriers so I’m dubious about that as they will suffer from being overloaded as a result! A lot of thinking needs to be done and I’m not the best at making important decisions 😬. 🖌 Anyway I’m off to get the girls ready for the day ahead and then get back to my wonderful paintbrushes 😍. Good morning all! 🌧 It’s a wet and gloomy day here and I’d love to be sat painting all day but I have my flu jab shortly and then a couple of errands to do but I will be back home as soon as I can be! 🖌 Then I will be sealing, doing some admin and painting until school pick up 🥰. ✨ My order books are getting busier and busier and I am so so grateful to each and every one of you for your support in all forms. Thank you to those who have ordered decorations and given me lots of lovely painting to keep busy with 🥰. 🐈 On which note my order books remain open for Christmas pieces and gifts until the 26th October but I am going to close my books for pet snowglobes for this Christmas on Friday (7th October). This is due to the fact that they take a lot of time and concentration to paint and I want to make sure I’m not stretching myself too thin and am able to give them the time and focus they need. 👋🏻 So they say better late than never and with about 10 mins to go I’m going to post my last #tlosbn social media challenge post. ✨ Todays post prompt was showcase Sunday and I thought I’d take the chance to showcase a decoration I have a little bundle of to paint for an order but have never really advertised so to speak and I love them so here they are! 🧶 These Christmas jumper ornaments are such a lovely quirky symbol of Christmas to me. We always have to make sure the girls have a Christmas jumper for jumper day at school and I have to say I’ve quite enjoyed finding them fun ones over the years. Good afternoon! ✨ As we are at the start of a new month I thought I’d post a little reminder that I am closing my Christmas order books at the end of this month. Afternoon. How is your day going? 💌 I’ve been made aware that there are going to be significant postal strikes over the next couple of months starting this weekend. 📮 Currently 19 days will be affected between now and the start of December so I will be doing my best to post orders out as soon as I can and in between strikes. 👍🏻 I totally understand the reasons for these strikes and am not upset at the Royal Mail workers for their actions but I am posting this to make customers aware that an item may be finished and ready to go but will be delayed a little while I wait for the services to restart. I will of course let each customer know when items have been posted. 📮 This will also affect my orders reaching me from suppliers so although I say this every year please order sooner rather than later especially if you are wanting decorations for the start of December. Good morning! Did you all have a good weekend? As I’ve had a little influx of new followers lately (hello 👋🏻) I thought I’d do a little meet the maker post 🥰. 👋🏻 I’m Kate AKA Mushy Peas. I live in Yarm, Teesside with my husband and two daughters (Pip and Button). 🎨 I have always loved to create and have dabbled in many creative techniques over the years but fell in love with mdf painting a few years ago which goes hand in hand with a long lived love of mine; drawing mandalas. ✨ My work is often highly detailed which is something I absolutely love to do, some pieces are simpler but where possible I will add little details and shading in to my pieces. ✨ I strive to ensure that every order is perfect for the recipient. I discuss potential designs and colour schemes, provide progress updates as the piece is worked on and I will always do my best to try to accommodate any request I receive. ✨ I tend to source my designs from a small number of different suppliers but I have a broad knowledge of a wide selection of suppliers so I can usually locate any requested pieces and if no one makes what a customer is after bespoke designs are always potential with many suppliers so the possibilities are endless! ✨ I love a challenge and look forward to every single order I receive and the adventure it will take me on as I create it. ✨When I’m not painting I am usually being kept busy by my girls or with general life. A much much later post than I had intended but my day has been very busy full of homework, housework and continuing my whole house clear out that I started an embarrassingly long time ago! 💖 Meet Nala, such a pretty little kitten but my word so many shades and variations of colour. She was a test of my nerves today but I’m happy with how she looks. ✨ I’m never 100% happy but I have to remind myself that they are only 6cm tall from ear tip to tail tip!
