Came upon a ton of raw moose hide recently and decided to try making a small pouch from it. It was quite a new experience as i’ve never worked with it before and hardly had the right tools but im really excited to be trying new things! This pouch has a mountain range design inspired by the valley from which my family is from (the Similkameen). The eagle design is inspired by the pictographs painted on the rock walls. The nsyilxcən word on the back snaqsilxʷ translates similarly to the phrase “all my relations” by meaning “sharing one skin”.
