⭐ No one wants to lose or damage a Tarot card. But there is wisdom in what that card can teach you. Sometimes a card that goes missing will speak louder than the cards that are drawn. I recently lost The Star card from my most treasured Tarot deck - “The Dirty Pam” - and today I found it, battered beyond repair, on the first day of Taurus season. How ironic since Venus loves all things beautiful. But maybe it wasn’t ironic; maybe it was a message. The Star comes after the Tower in Tarot. No one comes out of a tower moment looking healed, tranquil and blessed. Instead, they emerge from the chaos feeling banged up and exhausted, with plenty of battle scars to carry with them throughout the next chapter of their journey - and this is exactly what this new version of my Star card depicts. Not everything will be flowers and rainbows on the other side of a Tower moment, but you will be forever altered by the experience. Healing is not glamourous, but it creates an inner strength that is deep and inspiring. Resilience is beautiful. The message for this Taurus season: Be proud of yourself for surviving the storm. A couple VINTAGE decks up in the shop this morning! First up: Tarot de Euskalherria, a rare out of print deck by Maritxu Erlanz de Güller, illustrated by Alfredo Fermín "Mintxo". 78 cards, 1991, Fournier (Spain). Arcanum XIII is unnamed and the Fool is not numbered. Follows Marseille numbering (Strength is 11, Justice is 8). One of the COOLEST Tower cards ever (see second picture). The Minors have beautiful floral/herbal imagery. Excellent condition. Tuckbox has minor wear. Booklet is in English, Spanish, French, and German. Card names also appear in multiple languages. Second is the Renaissance Tarot Deck by Brian Williams. 78 cards, 1987, US Games. Features deities of Mount Olympus and other classical gods. The minors are represented by four classical myth cycles and a system of planets, constellations, seasons, and elements. Follows Marseille numbering (Strength is 11, Justice is 8). Very good used condition. Minor wear to tuckbox and booklet. Cards are in great shape. It has 78 cards with keywords printed on card faces. The cards are thick with glossy coating, in really excellent used condition. Description of this deck reads: “Crows are enchanting and mysterious. Unfortunately, I need to sell my 2009 copy of The Collective Tarot. This truly revolutionary and widely inclusive deck has been long out of print and unavailable. While I am sure I could get a good sum on eBay, I really want this deck to go to someone who will truly appreciate it. The sublimely elegant, illuminating, woefully out-of-print Victoria Regina Tarot is my choice for this month’s reading. This is a Chinese reprint that I’ve had since 2007 — August 2nd, my email inbox has just informed me! It is yellowing with age and the cards have worn thin and flexible from thousands of shuffles. I’ve consecrated this deck a number of times, housing it carefully as if it was a living thing, trying to make sure I can look forward to a lifetime of work together. Thanks to a dear friend I did eventually acquire the standard American version — a relief to have as a backup, interesting because of the variations in size and design, but it’s not THIS deck. So, I got a beautiful surprise from my hubby yesterday. He surprised me with an early birthday gift...a much coveted 3rd edition of the now out of print Bohemian Gothic by Baba Studios! I have been trying to get a copy for the last year and a half and was afraid that it would forever elude me because the cost has moved way above my ceiling.
