At around 6 pm on March 10, 2024, Je’tyha Garvin, a 16-year-old girl from Dorchester, went missing. Authorities have now issued a missing person alert. UPDATE: FOUND and RECOVERING I’m desperately seeking my 15 yr old daughter Amelyiah “Mia” Neider. She is 5’1” tall with brown eyes and dyed mahogany brown almost waist length hair. She has a beauty mark on her upper right lip. She has her septum pierced, belly button, cartilage, and two earring piercings on her lobes. There is a dotted starburst tattoo on her right upper wrist and cutting marks on her upper arm. She was last seen leaving Sheppard Pratt in Towson, MD yesterday May 16th around 4:40pm. We were told two different stories by Sheppard Pratt and the Baltimore County. The first story was that Mia escaped through the gym with another teen patient. The second story told to us by an officer was that a woman took her once Mia escaped the gym. The woman was a black woman by the name of Chamiya Dickerson and is 5’2” with and Afro style hairdo wearing a gray sweat shirt. Today I went Sheppard with a close friend and finally got to speak with one of the directors who told me that Mia fled with another teenager through the gym doors and both girls are still missing. She also said that the police have not seen the security footage. I was also informed that the Baltimore county police recanted their statement about the alleged woman and have no idea where that story came from. Both parties have assured us that this situation is under investigation. I did finally get a description of what Mia was wearing. She is wearing a light cream hoodie, oversized red tshirt, black joggers and periwinkle slides. With this new information, Mia may be heading home to Frederick. She’s my daughter and both girls are probably afraid and we need any help tracking them down. Could this photo be missing teen Sebastian Rogers? The first photo was apparently taken recently at a visitor center off the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina this past weekend- the person in this pic has not been identified as yet. The second slide shows two photos of Sebastian before he went missing. This info is from @nick_beres_nc5: ‘People think this looks like Sebastian Rogers — the 15-year-old who disappeared from his home in Hendersonville, TN two months ago. I can tell you that both Sumner County sheriff’s detectives and the TBI now have this photo. One investigator has told me they are considering the possibility the photo is was A-I generated. BUT, I have now been in touch with the person who posted the photo to social media. HERE’S WHAT THEY TELL ME: — A friend of this person took the photo thinking the boy resembled Sebastian. — I asked why they didn’t go approach him to be sure. I’m told they were rushing to meet family and just quickly snapped the photo before leaving. — Later, they reported it to authorities and shared the photo with the TBI. — They say the boy appeared comfortable and was relaxed and seemed to know the people with him. My understanding is that this visitor center has security cameras. Authorities will likely pull video to look for the boy and who he was with ... along with their vehicle. Some of you have commented about the lack of leaves on trees in the photograph. This week we continue to share Sequoya Vargas's story. This is a rare two-part episode, so check out episode 33 first. In 1993, Sequoya left her friend's house to go and watch movies with a man who had given her and her friend a ride earlier that day. The man took her to his cousin's house. She did not survive her encounter with the three men who were there that night, though each had a different story of what happened to her and the roles they played in her assault and murder. This was a difficult episode to create because of the violence Sequoya experienced, but we know it's important to share her story. We do recommend caution when listening to this episode, though.
