Omg who remembers this gem?! Black Knight is now available to stream on Disney+! One day, Jamal, who works at an amusement park, falls into a moat and loses consciousness. When he wakes up, he finds himself in 14th century England and is mistaken for a messenger from Normandy. This was one of those movies that I really began loving Martin Lawrence as a child, this was bloody hilarious. Watching it again is even more ridiculous and outrageous but pure comedy. This brought back so many nostalgic feelings, I felt like a kid again. When movies used to just be fun and silly and there wasn’t a care in the world. There wasn’t pressure on CGI, it was just pure banter and vibes. This was great writing, I really enjoyed the storyline. Nothing felt forced or extravagant, it’s super easy to just chill and watch and enjoy without having to 100% focus on it. How I love Disney+ for giving us this gem! The world needs to laugh and I’d highly recommend starting with this gem. I was watching The First Lady (I had gotten some casting calls for it, but the COVID restrictions were still too strict as I work in 2 hospitals with exposure to COVID patients continuously; but I was curious how it turned out). And then I knew I recognized the ‘young Betty Ford’. It was Kristine Froseth, @kristine_froseth she was in a short movie, ‘Pretty Is’ that filmed in Wilmington, North Carolina. It was my first time being on any filming set. And it was also my first experience being blurred/cut out in the background. Happens to most everyone at some point in time. It was still great exposure, and a fantastic encounter the whole way around. The gardens where my mom used to push my carriage around, was then where I came back to be on my first set, and it would be even more full circle to get to work with some of these people again. @thefirstlady_sho @showtime . . You really never know who you'll run into in Bonaventure but it was 9 years ago today through a chance meeting between Jon Heder and Shannon Scott at The McMillan Family plot, that an interesting Private Tour unfolded. Heder was in town with likes of Richard Dreyfuss, Danny Glover, Danny Masterson, Lyn Shaye, shooting the still unreleased comedy "Killing Winston Jones" directed by Joel David Moore. According to Scott, "Jon Heder was interested in anything unusual about Savannah and has obvious love of information. So much so we sat in Wright Square til 3AM with anyone still willing to answer Jon's curiosities." Shannon was particularly drawn in by the down-to-earth, character actor queen, Lyn Shaye, citing, "She totaled my funny bone as the landlady in Kingpin and as the tanning obsessed Magda in Something About Mary, so I was honestly shocked by how normal she was and asked truly insightful questions. Séance 143 : Le diable, tout le temps. Antonio Campos adapte ici le roman sombre et violent de Donald Ray Pollock qui dépeint une Amérique profondément malade, rongée par la culpabilité et la religion. Tout commence avec un narrateur à la voix grave qui nous immerge entre l'Ohio et la Virginie à la fin des années 50 et qui nous présente des destins brisés par des événements sordides. Le film est une sorte de galerie des horreurs humaines qui se dressent devant nous, jusqu'aux rencontres fatales qui écrasent alors chaque pion de l'histoire comme des mouches. Toutes ces histoires dramatiques se mélangent pour converger vers le personnage principal, Arvin. La fluidité avec laquelle les pièces du puzzle se mettent en place et dont le récit s’articule est admirable. On nage en pleine tragédie dans cette Amérique rurale rongée par les blessures d’une guerre passée et de celle du Vietnam à venir. Les destins croisés des âmes écorchées sont semblables à une danse lugubre que le diable aurait chorégraphiée. La voix off omnisciente sait avant les personnages ce qui va leur arriver, lorsqu'ils rencontrent leur âme sœur... disons que ça rajoute un côté fataliste au film. Cette fresque vénéneuse, lourde, glauque et dérangeante, ne laisse paraitre aucune once d'espoir et de lumière. Tom Holland se révèle assez clairement comme une nouvelle star de Hollywood. Il crève l’écran. Robert Pattinson transcende clairement ce rôle de pasteur dont on comprend très vite la nature.
