My hearts😭 This Mother’s Day weekend, my heart is reflecting on my life. I don’t take it for granted. It’s a precious gift. My kiddos are growing so fast and I truly try to soak them in because I sure can’t make time slow down. We went for a family walk tonight (my favorite), and I just took it all in. Running to the mulch mountain, collecting “treasures” of special leaves and weeds, giving mommy so many dandelion and clover bouquets, finding the “popsicles” back on the Red Bud, smelling Irises and Roses together. Today was the best!☀️ We did a picnic in the park after preschool pickup (say that 5 times fast🤪) Daddy was off today and joined us. We spent all afternoon outside, extra playground time after school for Dash, and animal-playing in the backyard at home. We ate dinner outside again. We still have plenty of crazy and chaotic moments no matter where we are but, being outside…we’re all just better outside. Better attitudes, perspectives, lots of joy! There are parts of motherhood that just give ya a big ol punch in the gut. I pulled out some baby Storey Mae clothes for Bee. Wasn’t Storey wearing these just yesterday? Gosh. Time moves so fast. Dashiell is reading full on chapter books now. Goldie starts kindergarten next year. There are parts of motherhood that are harder than I expected. Dealing with all of their little (let’s be honest…mostly big) emotions. It’s very humbling in dealing with my own emotions😅 Painting in the chaos has been a way for me to still my mind as well as exercising that creative side- which brings me so much joy. We’ve loved💝 this weather!☀️ Storey Mae requests “nicken on a mone” aka chicken on a bone almost every day. She will literally carry it around and eat it. 🛏️We did some room rearranging. Jubilee was still sleeping in our room in a mini crib and it just wasn’t working anymore. Which meant that Storey Mae needed to go upstairs to share with Goldie, AND transition from crib to big girl bed. Allen did a makeover on an old bed from my Mom- the scallops and the purple! It turned out so cute!! The girls are LOVING their time together. I love hearing their giggles after I go down at night. It’s been really precious. Goldie is a sweet big sis. I hope this makes them really close. 👶🏻 Bee is loving her big crib! More room to roll around😂 she would probably be sleeping better but we are snotty in this house again so she still isn’t sleeping great🫠 hopefully, after this little hump!😴 I officially have no more babies in my room which is a little sad. This week after Christmas has consisted of lots of playtime, messes, time together. We’ve loved all of this time as a fam of 6. We’ve had some sickies in the house but nothing like last year! Allen loves coffee- he’s even been roasting and grinding his own beans for a while. He’s figuring out his new espresso maker. I love watching him while he perfects the perfect cup☕️ The kitchen table has been covered in toys (mostly the chokables🤣) Most have finally found their homes on shelves, toy boxes. Bee is a walking machine these days. She walks circles and circles around the house! Daddy gave Storey Mae this headband set to wash her face like mommy😊 All of the Christmas decor is put away. I feel a little more sad about it this year. I’m not sure why other than my kiddos are growing up🥹 I don’t want to forget this time with a 7, 5, (almost) 3, and 1 year old! This weekend was lovely✨ The weather was perfect, the leaves were crunchy. I got in lots of painting time and the kiddos “helped” daddy with leaves. While Dashiell is still my king of animals over here, Marigold has dubbed herself the “Crafting Queen.” She comes up with new designs and ideas and executes them daily. I also heard her yell from the backyard today, “I miss Ethan Farmer!” (A boy from her class…🫠) Bee is alllllmost walking- she’s a pro at cruising the furniture. Our fall break was full of fun! Lots of play time outside, walks, time with our friends at McConnell Springs and Neenle at Henry Clay and the children’s garden! On school mornings, Goldie says, “this is the best day ever!” Goldie packs up her “venture backpack” with all of her special treasures when we go for walks. They were begging to go outside in the storm that was blowing in. It didn’t help that I rushed out the front door to snap their photo. Those three little heads in a row. End of summer☀️ Bigs have lived in pjs most days- Dashiell’s fav! We adventured to The Children’s Garden and McConnell Springs this past week. We saw lots of animals at McConnell springs- two deer walked right in front of us! First week of summer memories☀️🌈 Naps on daddy •picking up a new-to-us fridge from the G’s in a U-Haul! Dashiell loved riding up front in the truck😂 •Allen has been making the kids a “mud kitchen” beside the chicken coop. The kiddos were outside at 7:15 this morning, already playing with it😊 •the girls received fancy new dresses from G-Jelly so, naturally, photos were in order. I can’t believe I have FOUR little love bugs! What the what?! One year ago, I was having some pregnancy symptoms and took a pregnancy test. I wasn’t technically “late” yet but something felt off. We weren’t trying- we thought we were done having kiddos after Storey Mae. Surprise! That test came back with the faintest positive line!! I thought holyyyy sh*zzz…okkk….four kids….We can do this! But then I kept it a secret and didn’t tell anyone except Allen for weeks and weeks. I had to let the shock sink in. I became soo excited once the second trimester hit. I had always said I wanted four but the reality is…kids are expensive😂 do you know how many berries they eat?! So, we were settled with three. But man. This fourth one. She is so sweet, y’all. It’s been so good. I’m so thankful! Her name means JOY and CELEBRATION and that is so Jubilee.
