Today's Distant Revisitation tribute is an obscure Louisville compilation entitled "All The President's Women" and even the most "well-known" bands here are teetering on being total unknowns. Normally, when I write these little music tributes it's often on albums that are relatively symbolic, often albums that resonated in my teenage years and early adulthood. Occasionally I just want to write on albums with a bit of mystery or even just stuff I want to gush about. However, this release I have no personal connection to and barely any real knowledge going in. Just dumb luck and a total mystery. Like, I'm not bullshitting here. Before I bought this at Modern Cult in 2016, I had no idea this even existed. You, the reader, obviously had no idea this existed. The people who made and owned this may well have forgotten about it and I haven't listened to this at all until the time of this writing. If you're a 90s Louisville music person and want to share any stories or info on these bands, by all means do so in the comments. Also up for reading is a writeup on the tenth anniversary of Pacific Midwest by Andy Matter, released 17 May 2014 via Gubbey Records. Along with observing the record and the little scene at the time I'm also noting it's the last Louisville music release (excluding compilations) that I contributed to. Ten years is a long time to drift. Who knows, maybe I'll work with another Louisville band one of these days?
