A partir de ce moment, les choses vont devenir étrangent quand ils vont toucher un artefact magique. Des monstres vont y apparaître, un monde dans un monde.. Entres tout ça il y a bien évidemment une enquête sur des cadavres de ces monstres bizarre.. D'où viennent ils ? Qui sont ils ? Que sont ils ? On va également y suivre une inspectrice qui a l'air d'en savoir plus qu'il n'en a l'air sur cet autre monde et sur ce qu'il ce passe ! 🤟🏻 💢 Beaucoup aimé l'ambiance et l'intrigue de ce récit. On va plonger dans un drôle de monde, accompagné d'enquête et de mystère. Tout ça excellemment bien mis en scène, ça annonce une super suite ! 🎨 Très cool et intéressant pour le graphisme ! La ciudad sin nombre Vol. 1 - 3 (de Faith Erin Hicks y Jordie Bellaire) Lo que pensaba que iba a ser una trilogía de novelas gráficas juveniles de aventuras ligeras ha resultado ser una lectura absorbente por varios motivos. No en vano, se ha llevado algún Eisner, pero tanto por la premisa sobre el papel como por su estilo visual no parece nada nuevo y/o ambicioso. Quizás es mejor así. Si La ciudad sin nombre conquista al lector es decididamente por su humildad y sencillez, algo que está en el corazón de esta historia. No hay aquí fantasía epatante que distraiga al lector del objetivo de fondo: poner sobre la mesa un nudo gordiano histórico, el de como resolver los conflictos entre naciones y pueblos por el derecho a gestionar los territorios y/o llamarlos su tierra. Faith Erin Hicks se inventa una enorme ciudad en un mundo ficticio de corte medieval con culturas reminiscentes a las orientales. Allí a través de la historia de Rata y Kaidu se plantean los dilemas de la descolonización y la gestión política de una urbe clave en la geopolitica del mundo. Con toda esta grandilocuencia con la que servidor presenta la premisa, el relato en realidad parte desde la calle y de la difícil amistad entre los dos protagonistas que vienen de origenes prácticamente antagonistas. Con esto, la autora traza una emocionante aventura que rehuye los lugares comunes y especialmente la épica de acción buscando potenciar el diálogo y el mensaje antibelicista. Pero eso no hace de esta trilogía algo aburrido Al contrario, hay aquí reflexiones sabías, relaciones entre personajes mágicas, acción callejera y mucha intriga. Con un estilo visual y trasfondo heredero de la serie de animación Avatar, un estilo de dibujo muy animerimanga, sencillo pero bien perfilado y expresivo te coge de la mano y te hace devorar página tras página. A punto Bellaire con el color, que entiende muy bien el estilo de Hicks y lo potencia en la medida justa. The Nice House on the Lake: The Deluxe Edition By @jamesthefourth Finally! Another one I've been waiting for. I had to stop getting single issues a while back now and I stopped this run halfway through - I promised myself a complete edition if it was ever made (only the vol 1 pb was announced at the time), and finally this edition was announced. I loved the first 6 issues and I'm really keen tonrefresh my memory and see what happens next! Also, there was an incentive variant cover that showcased all the major players, with their names and their 'code names' alongside them. To say that the series is picking up speed again with Phantom Road #10 would probably be a bit of an exaggeration. But the density of reveals and long-awaited answers to questions that have been raised for a long time give this final issue of the second arc an unusual fullness and excitement. Dom and Birdie have become much closer through their telepathic insights into the tragedies of their past and their relationship with the entity also becomes more familial. But this slight hint of warmth on this surreal horror road trip doesn’t last long,. The road already has the next surprise in store for them and us. Theresa continues her fight against government windmills, but has a loyal partner in crime at her side in Deputy Donnie, with whom she finally comes closer than ever to solving the Project Jackknife mystery. With issue #10, Jeff Lemire and Gabriel H. Walta certainly deliver the most intense issue of this series to date. Of course, this doesn’t mean that it’s going to be loud and colourful and fast-paced, but the ongoing and now rising underlying tension makes it really grating. My opening page for Beyond Real #4, out in May from @thevaultcomics. I had the pleasure of doing a large chunk of this issue of @zackkaps book along with @jorge_cor and @bibidoodles, with @mattiaiacono_colors_ and #JordieBellaire on colors and @hassoe on letters, with @johnjpearson on A covers. I was given the opportunity to do my own coloring, so I kinda went nuts 🤣
HUIS CLOS 🏠 Pas forcément une grande lectrice de comics, j’ai tout de même été tentée par la lecture de The nice house on the lake, tant l’engouement général suscitait ma curiosité. Dans ce huis clos, onze personnes se retrouvent dans une villa au bord d’un lac. Chacune d’entre elles est liée à un certain « Walter ». L’homme, souvent ami de longue date, n’est en réalité pas celui qu’ils imaginent. Un air d’apocalypse flotte dans l’air... mais je n’en dis pas plus. Ce tome lance un certain nombre de pistes, assez inexplicables : statues, symboles, mur invisible, guérison spontanée... Il pose beaucoup de questions. Les personnages ont aussi un vécu commun, on commence à percevoir les liens qui les relient. Un premier volume très prometteur, qui offre beaucoup de suspense. J’ai vraiment apprécié ma lecture ! Entre Agatha Christie et Stephen King, c’est un comics qui distille beaucoup de mystères, avec un brin de surnaturel qui pointe le bout de son nez. Graphiquement, c’est assez captivant. D’un point de vue narratif, c’est très efficace. On en redemande ! Batman Volume 3 I Am Bane by #tomking #davidfinch #dannymiki and #jordiebellaire from @dcofficial (MSRP: $16.99; Overall Raring: $16.99). I continue to marvel a little, no pun intended, at the new mythology around Batman, he being a master strategist and chess player 30 moves ahead of his adversaries. I’d be curious to reread some modern Joker tales as if Batman is able to predict and out maneuver Bane as he does here, is there anyone who can match wits with him? More curiousity than anything else and an open question as to where this mythos came from. Overall a solid read, some very well done panels, especially those juxtaposing Batman and Bane growing up, but a little unsatisfying in there ultimate clash. Peacemaker tries hard is one of the funniest comice ive read in awhile - but also somewhat poignant as it explores themes thats close to james gunns show - he is an idiot trying to be a hero - but is also a moron who can be irritating at times - but this stems from his daddy issues and being a lonely guy with no real friends. Thats where the story takes off - as he finally finds a friend - a stray dog who he named bruce wayne - that gets kidnapped from the super villian the brain so he can get DNA of deathstroke for cloning purposes to make him a perfect body. Eventually, peacemaker befriends the red bee, who is also his parole officer to get the dog back. Theres hijinks, action galore, non-stop jokes - but what comic readers should also consider besides the excellent top-shelf artwork -but what the colorist does with certain scenes and how much fun the letterer is doing - it’s everything you want in your silly stories, but with the bonus of inadvertently and surprisingly pulling the heartstrings at times. A HQ é divertida, dando início a uma nova era para a personagem. A trama se inicia logo após os eventos da série anterior, na qual Selina assumiu a liderança de uma família mafiosa. Aqui, a vemos cansada das crianças de Alleytown que tanto ajudou antes. Essa mudança brusca pode exigir certa suspensão de descrença do leitor, mas Howard ancora a história em elementos familiares do universo Batman. A HQ também traz de volta personagens como Eiko Hasigawa e Onyx Adams, além de uma participação especial de Arlequina. Enquanto o arco inicial "Ligações Perigosas" possui um tom mais sombrio e violento, os dois capítulos finais mudam drasticamente para uma aventura leve e bem-humorada, com Selina e Arlequina em uma viagem de carro e participação em um campeonato de patinação. Essa mudança brusca de tom pode incomodar alguns leitores, mas demonstra a coragem da roteirista em explorar diferentes facetas da personagem. Edita @eccediciones Hubo gente que la siguió grapa a grapa, hubo gente que entró con el Focus, en mi caso esperé al integral. No lo leí del tirón y en una sentada, son casi 400 páginas de tomo. Además, en este caso, da cierto gusto leer un capítulo (o dos, incluso tres) y dejarlo reposar hasta el día siguiente. Mantener y dejar crecer la incertidumbre ante lo ignoto. Retener y recrear lo ya descubierto. Como ya se ha escrito y dicho mucho sobre esta obra, no me extenderé. Solo diré que mi experiencia particular fue cerrar la última página y desear volver a abrirlo por la primera para volverlo a leer. Y, cuando te pasa esto con un cómic, poco más hay que añadir. SINOPSIS: Todos los invitados a la casa conocen a Walter. O, al menos, lo conocen un poco. Tras el año más difícil de sus vidas, nadie iba a rechazar una invitación para disfrutar de una hermosa mansión en el bosque, con vistas a un enorme y precioso lago.
