#fbf to when we opened for @in.iko! May is my birthday month, and I make it an effort to celebrate my life... but let me tell you something, lol, nothing can top last year! Peep how BLACK the crowd was!!! That's important to note because up until that point, I didn't know if our alternative folk music was black folks' cup of tea. We would perform in our area and always either get completely talked over during our set or be told "that's different" and "you should make a dance song". So when we were about to step on stage, my knees buckled. I knew they were there to hear alternative black artists – I mean, they came to see INKO, lol – but... PTSD, I suppose. Rather this isn't my first concert technically but my first live person concert and I'm so happy i was able to see @in.iko perform and hear them live in person. Thier music and performances were amazing with such emotion and story telling. Thier voice is so powerful, gentle yet affirming ughhhaaa the energy was radiating crazy!! This concert was such an inspiration hearing other artists sing thier songs and being surrounded by like minded individuals 💕 this was definitely another highlight of my year. May I introduce you to Boston? After I found out that @in.iko was starting her “Awakening” tour in Sinclair in Boston, I spontaneously decided to attend the show. My layover was in Reykjavik, a wonderful experiance after the last time I set foot in Iceland in 2011. Once again, I was able to admire the solitude of the mountain peaks that would pierce the blanket of clouds like forks stuck upwards. 2 weeks before I flew to the USA, I realized that the solar eclipse would take place on the same date and that Boston was very close to the path of totality! Upon arrival, I decided to explore this city without any kind of preparation or a travel guide. In the end, as always, I followed my gut feeling and let my intuition guide me - that's how these pictures were taken. Idyllic old town, still very European, very structured, almost no chance of spontaneity. Simultaneously loud and extremely quiet. Shortly before the solar eclipse, my nose naturally led me to a local chocolaterie, and of course there was music playing - "Amelie" soundtrack... There are no words to describe the solar eclipse... I wish everyone get to experiance it in their lifetime... the evening was a blast with the universal music and lyrics of Iniko... so relatable... danceable... full of emotions... she is still on tour (also in Europe)! #iniko #sinclairboston #boston #mood
