Years ago I had filler that was placed in the muscle and I keep dissolving and it will look better then over time more appears. Today I decided to dissolve again. Even though this is a horrible before and after you are able to appreciate the swelling before. I will post a 3 day pic. The amount I used was 150 units for both eyes. Let’s talk lip correction 💉 This beautiful gal came to me a month ago saying “Help! 19 year old me wanted duck lips, but 26 year old me wants a different look!”. Sometimes getting injected by multiple injectors who use different theologies or various fillers can cause migration. Different techniques on the same lip can cause migration. Tissue rejection of the filler can cause migration. All in all, migration can happen and it isn’t cute. Dissolving can be utterly painless, but it will cause swelling & possible bruising. ✨This beautiful client’s transition over about 1 month. ✨ She had a history of 3 syringes of lip filler within a short period of time, and unfortunately the lips can only handle so much volume without migrating up the path of least resistance, aka, the upper lip and/or inside the lip. She had issues with accidentally biting the lumps of migration on the inside of her lips and felt like she would talk or smile weird. Occasionally she would bite those areas and they would bleed. 😥 We did a microdissolve with Hylenex into the areas of migration: upper/lower vermillion borders to crisp, mucosa, and even up high near the philtrum columns. This injector clearly gave her a beautiful shape with a natural plump. When we took a closer look, she had a nearly-congruent ridge of lip filler that had migrated from her previous fill. HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN? -More filler than can be accommodated by the lips is placed too quickly resulting in overfilling. The filler follows the path of least-resistance and migrated into unintended areas -Filler may be placed too close or beyond the wet-dry border of the lips. This is the part of the inner lip where the skin differs from “wet” and “dry.” When we fill lips, we always place into the “dry part” of the lip, and never into the wet mucosa ❌ -Thinner or “lower g prime” fillers are more prone to migration, which is typically a preferred lip filler due to the “natural” look and feel Lip filler migration can happen to even the most-talented injector. It doesn’t always mean your injector stinks or did anything wrong. When injected into specific muscles, Dysport blocks the nerve signals that cause muscle contractions, leading to a temporary relaxation of the targeted muscles. This results in a smoother & more youthful appearance of the skin in the treated area. 🏃♀️ Dynamic vs. Static lines: Dynamic lines are visible during facial expressions like laughing, smiling, or squinting. Static lines are lines that are present always, as they have been etched into the skin over time (untreated dynamic lines turn into static lines). Getting neurotoxin treatments “treat” dynamic lines & prevent static lines. If they are already present before treatment, they may soften afterwards or if deeper they may need further treatment to smooth. ✨Treatments & dosage are individually based & need to be completed every 3-4 months.
