When is the best time to do your newborn photo session? My answer is whenever it feels more comfortable to you. This baby was about 1.5 months old and we had a great session together with his big brother! Some families prefer doing sooner rather than later. Newborns change so fast. In a few weeks they can look so different! So if you want to document the early newborn stage details, I recommend doing during the first two weeks. Earlier on you have more chances your newborn will be asleep during the session or at least will give us some asleep shots for all the adorable macro detail images (eyelids, lips, fingers, etc). Some families prefer doing later after they are more adapted to the new life with baby. Sometimes parents prefer waiting until they have more help at home and so on. I’ve done newborn sessions as far as 2-3 months old. It’s definitely a different type of session with a more active baby. Fields like this quiet the mind and all I want to do is run until my feet get tired, and I’m lost amongst the trees and grass and wildflowers growing all around. Lost amongst nature like that, I’m fairly certain I wouldn’t feel lost for long. Because basking in the beauty of the earth around me, how could I feel anything less than an all encompassing joy?

It’s my birthday today! In honor of it also being the last day of school here, I’ll try to introduce myself to all my new friends with some good old superlatives! •most likely to injure themselves doing something dumb in the wilderness • least likely to finish any number of new creative projects I just had to do • most likely to try to do something myself to save money, even if it ends up costing more and taking 100 hours • most likely to have an entire notes list of tasks on my phone or else I’ll forget to do everything •most likely to avoid any kind of confrontation #enneagram9 • least likely to respond to a text Most of y’all have never met me in person, which is probably good, because you’d be disappointed that I’m not very social in person (until I get to know you, and then I don’t shut up).
