A happy Monday indeed🤗🤭😊 I tried @highlandbakery today for the first time and they did not disappoint!!! Yall know I'm a foodie and prefer a more nontraditional variety of breakfast dishes. They were ready for me and all my shenanigans😈. I ordered the Salmon Benedict on a sweet potato biscuit with a small shrimp and grits. Since I dont really like bread, this was perfect. I thought the biscuit was going to be on the side but this was waaaay better and more me🙌🏽 Also since I don't like grits, I feel like a good shrimp and grits will always win me over....everytime. It was pretty plain which isn't bad but what sold me with this was the jalapeño cheese sauce😲🙈🙉🫠🤤 OMG!!!! Absolutely delicious. 💯 It was a nice twist on the Benedict as well. This weekend marked our farewell to @highlandbakery ’s original Highlands location, a cherished spot for our breakfast cravings, that is closing on January 31st. Weekday mornings meant a quick stop before work to enjoy their bakery items and outstanding coffee -white mocha being my absolute favorite!- in their outdoor seating area, while weekends offered the additional pleasure of a walk by the Beltline. Although we lack photos of the countless ham and cheese croissants enjoyed, we wanted to share snapshots of some of our brunch experiences here. Their food is always great and they have many different options to choose from, it’s just that we are not a fan of eating in disposable or plastic plates, and we believe that good coffee (and theirs is DELICIOUS!) should be served on a mug, which was not always the case. That’s why we used to go mainly for their bakery. Thankfully, this isn’t a final goodbye. Highland Bakery still thrives at its other two locations, one near Georgia State and another, a coffee shop named Press & Grind, also in the Highlands.
