(Swipe) Last shots of the start and end of the 3 week Bali trip 🌴🤍 Started the solo trip with the flight of my friend @demi_wagemaker and ended it with 12 hours at my best friend @la_vie_de_rosie_ in Abu Dhabi. The route I took was: Amsterdam-Dubai-Dubai-Bali, which was without any trouble. Getting back was hard; rejected to Dubai with newly met @kubrakemm and to Istanbul - so made a plan with my also newly made airport friend @biabia.moraes to fly full fare to Singapore, with an 8 hour layover we spended with @tessahammy - who was sitting next to me on board. The evening of day 2, I flew on my own from Singapore to Abu Dhabi, for a 12 hour overnight layover at my friends house before flying back to Amsterdam ✈️ It took me 3 days to get home. You never know where you are going to end while flying ‘if place available’. All flights from Bali were completely overbooked, and I needed to get home asap. Isn’t standby travel wild? A throwback to 2019 - (Read) My biggest travel dream ever was visiting Japan. A dream I had since I was 14 years old as I always felt a deep connection to Japan from a very young age. In 2018, I had the opportunity to finally go, because I had a fulltime job at 21 years old. In 2015, my 6 month internship to Tokyo during my study didn’t work out while working hard for that, which also caused it to need some more years to make it happen. It was the first time I travelled outside of Europe - solo. I always tell people - if nobody wants to join you, go anyways! Don’t wait for anyone to make your dream come true! A few of the most beautiful experiences I have had in my life are the trips I have made solo. It is something that helps you grow, and pushes you far out of your comfort zone. I love blogging about it, to give people a view from the inside of what it is like, to possibly inspire others to take that trip on their own themselves as well. Japan was one of the most amazing experiences I ever gave to myself in life. It was worth the wait, worth going alone, worth the full fare ticket. Obrigada Brasil 🇧🇷 @allineboff and I sadly didn’t like our trip to Rio and the vibe there. To give arguments: We felt really tired, drained from our energy, full on masculine energy and really exhausted from being yelled at/called out and not feeling safe sometimes (while also letting out belongings at the hostel). Apart of that, Brazil is a beautiful country with amazing kindhearted people and a great culture and beautiful spots. I would like to thank Brazil for that experience also 🇧🇷 🤍 Once we entered the island of Florianópolis (her home) yesterday - we instantly felt better. Due to the bad weather I sadly already had to drop my plans of my week at Floripa, move it to December and now spontaneously fly to Buenos Aires (only 2 hours by plane) - (thank god for cabin crew tickets, the reason I travel so frequently for very little money) spontaneously.
