Aug 1983 GHP Pro, done as far as I’m concerned. And I’m not digging the new stand. Left in the survivor condition I acquired it in. Very clean but certainly used bike. Gone over by Brandon at my favorite bike shop @clydejamescycles in Haltom City, TX. Changed the tires which were difficult to find in the original style/size (the original tires were shot), and replaced with clear AME grips, which were on it as well but totally destroyed. One spoke repaired. Nice new padset from @flitebmx . Original to the bike as I recieved it, all or mostly 80s: Bullseye hubs, Skyway Hot Seat, Victor Pedals, Star Bars, Diamondback Turbo stem, Powerlite seat post, Tuf-Neck seat clamp and chainring, Dia-Compe 810 rear brake, Lee Chi brake lever, and Suntour VX cranks. Very light and incredible bike! 82/83 Hutch I picked up earlier in the week along with a couple of other very cool and rare bikes (both GHP). Frame is Hutch and the rest other brands. Tuf-neck is in good shape (going on my Robinson soon), some CW bars that aren’t my style, and a great Bullseye bottom bracket. Cranks are spun uggg. 2nd project: 1993 Robinson SST. This is my daily rider, bought as is. Color theme will be red, white, blue and chrome. Hate the handlebars, some weird freestyle style but they are comfy. Just not my style. Only the frame is original, pretty much most of the rest is being replaced. Has a few minor GT parts in it. It does have Redline Big Block cranks, probably going to keep those, solid. Not doing an OG resto, mainly a resto-mod with newer stuff since I ride this every day. I’ve ordered year correct Akisu GT style forks, a new Skyway alloy stem, new Cooks Brothers handlebars, red Bear Trap pedals, alloy headset, correct decals (ones in this one are from the wrong year and model), and pads. Already have a few minor things. Will eventually get some blue or red rims / hubs for it. Bought a 70s Webco frame to slowly restore in March 2024. But I couldn’t ride that for a while, so a rider was needed. Picked up this survivor 1981 Mongoose Motomag from the original owner in early April 2024. All original except upgrades the original owner made in the 80s: ACS MX mags, seat was changed, pedals changed, grips changed and apparently he added Tange forks. Bars were painted black, originally chrome. Plan was to leave in survivor condition and just ride it with my grandson around the neighborhood. Yeah, that didn’t work. Bike needed tweaking and some upgrades to make it ride better. I’ll document that ongoing journey.
