I can’t believe this happened in our backyard! I never thought we would be able to see the Aurora Borealis this far south. We were blessed with quite a show. "Kaleidoscope Revisited" This is one of my favorite spots to find a quiet sunset in KC. On this night it looked like another photographer was doing a photoshoot. A snapped my pic and went about my evening.
"Don't Be Afraid to Get Your Feet Wet" Resistance is futile. I had to go back out to the sanctuary one more time before the water levels return to normal. This time I forced myself into some newer compositions and some washing of the feet.
All this rain lately so here is a bit of those KC sunsets from downtown before the rain moved in again. This is more on the urban side than street this time around. ~ People of KC ~ Kansas City Night life. Got out last Friday night for a bit and got some night photography in with @klb_snaps and it was a solid street session in walking the power and light district. It's incredibly nice seeing the KC night life come alive over the weekend and the amount of foot traffic in the area. I have to say I definitely stayed camped out in front of the @drumroomkc until I got the shots I was hoping for. I got quite a few but these are the ones that made the cut this time around. The a6400 did pretty well but I feel like the low light side of it lacks a little bit. The Tamron 28-75mm did well, but this is just my preference and opinion, but I like to be less than f2.8 when shooting at night. F2 or less helps a lot and keeping iso less than 3200 and like to keep my shutter at a minimum of 1/160 or higher when shooting street. Just some of my preferences when shooting street at night. “Time spent among trees is never time wasted” Am I the only one that finds hope in trees? Here are two random pictures of tree that I took last week. The first one is from English Landing Park. The trees are showing new life and I am here for it. The branches were swaying in the wind and I couldn't help make them the subject matter. The second/third pic is from the Nature Sanctuary a few miles down the road. I gravitate towards this group of trees and shoot upward on occasion. This time I noticed this grouping of three trees sticking out more than the others. Sisters, brothers, family? The trees say so much to me and I try to take notice as often as I can.

Morning light… Spring flowers… Hope I mentioned in my last post, (I know that’s been more than a minute ago 😉) that we were taking on a new project. We had always dreamed of living on some property. Years of dreaming, praying and waiting for the perfect timing and opportunity has brought us to a new home. Another part of our dream was living alongside our kids and grandkids. There is nothing so precious as time spent with those we love. God is so good! He cares about our hopes and dreams and he provides above and beyond what we could ever hope for. When we weren’t even seriously looking, my son found a house on some property that had two separate living spaces like we always wanted, in a location that worked for all of us. We went to look, never expecting to fall in love. The house was in need of major renovations but when we stepped out onto the deck and saw the view, I cried, my daughter in law was emotional right along with me and my son couldn’t stop smiling… my husband thought we had all lost our minds because there was already an offer on the property and we had 12 hours to make a major life changing decision. 😳 Now several months later after taking walls down to the studs and rebuilding we are almost done. So If you were wondering where I’ve been. I’ve been learning to use a drill, tearing out flooring, cabinets and walls and been covered in sheet rock dust. "The Many Reflections of Western Auto" This was my first time being downtown since being at the Chiefs parade/Rally/Shooting a few weeks ago. My sole intention was to shoot abstracts and look for some creative content in regards to skyscrapers and different shapes and patterns.
