A fab weekend so far up on the north east coastline. A few shots of a couple of finds... Hubby found the blue marble and a huge bit in the mud the size of my palm! His lucky day yesterday, mine today!! The purple multi is incredible!! I had literally sat for a quiet few minutes, look over and there she was!! Plus I FOUND A MARBLE!!! A beautiful simple clear one. Couldn't be happier. Shoulders & back ache, but boy being out in the fresh sea air with the sun on my skin was awesome. Have a fab weekend. A glorious few hours lost on the beach this morning. Found some lovely bits including 2 textured tiles. I will admit my mind was set on funding a stopper and that's not the way to comb. I had to give myself a stern talking to and just let the need for finding one dissipate with the rolling waves. Once that was out of my head I found some lovely patterned pieces. It was quite scary to see how damaged the cliffs were since the storm and the heavy rains, there was some slippage still happening so I kept well away. Safety first. I hit the beach early this morning, high tide just passed and she was rolling back out again. Dressed in winter warmers, I braved the elements (Great British summer, eh?!) and combed the tide line to begin with... As you can see I stepped onto some soft wet sand and ended up calf deep!π Thank goodness I changed my mind last minute and put my Doc's on!! π₯Ύπ₯Ύ Today was not about finding tho, it was about giving. Two ladies (mum and daughter at a guess) were braving a dunk in the sea, they were laughing and screaming as the waves washed over them. I crossed their paths as they were heading for their towels, laughing together. I laughed with them and called them brave!ππ₯ΆThe younger lady told me it was the older ladies birthday and today was the first time she'd ever been in the sea! What a day!! I congratulated her and carried on walking. 5 steps later I found a gorgeous chunky bubble of sea glass. I walked back over to them and handed her the sea glass and told her it was a reminder of her day. She thanked me profusely, told me how beautiful it was and burst into tears of joy! Day 2 along this beautiful Suffolk coastline. We went to an old military Fort for a look around. Then had a wander on the beach. Hubby found the first Pirate Glass π€ and then I found a few! Lovely surprise! The big red in my finds pic unfortunately was plastic, but I kept it anyway as it's a lovely night colour!! My collection of found stoppers! Beach number 2 today! Impromptu stop along the way to our stop over tonight before heading to Scotland tomorrow. Glad we did! Not too much 'normal' sea glass but I found a load of pirate glass! π€ On insta a while back, someone asked a comber how they knew which was black sea glass, their response was "when you know, you know". Omg ... Words of wisdom! At the time I thought how unhelpful it was! But today the Sea Goddess shined on me and I found loads! A Mother's Day beach wander! Wow what a beautiful day it was yesterday, a little taster of a summer to come. 10,000 acres of sky. I didn't get any pictures of 'as found' pieces, I wanted to be in the moment with my family. Me and my sister met my mum at the beach for a lovely walk. My 5yo nephew had to rescue his wellies in the mud! And we all ended up doing a sock swap because his feet were covered!! π Really pleased with my finds. And some pottery! Beach number 5 for 2023! What a beautiful sunny day. It looked like it was going to be a rainy one, but I decided to brave it with a comb. 2nd beach trip this year. My (very windy) usual hunting ground, but what a weird beach it looked! Obv there had been some stormy tides as the shingle had seemed to have shifted right down the shoreline. I've never seen it like that before! I desperately needed to get out of the house today. Hubby had me awake most of the night with his π€¬ snoring... π΅βπ«π΅ I've had a long (short) week at work and just needed fresh air and vitamin sea. Ahhh... It's done the trick!! Not a huge haul, but I think my sleep deprived eyes did me well! What a year! Here's a little π selection of my happiness throughout the year. Filled with combing the shorelines from Isle of Sheppey to Seaham, from Appledore to Norfolk, it's been epic! Just want to say thank you to my little band of followers. I started this page to share my finds with like-minded people. A few more from our chilly Monday Comb! There was so much 'new' untumbled glass on the beach, really thick stuff too. It certainly had potential and it'll be exciting to see it again in another decade! The bonfire glass I nearly didn't pick up! It sat on the sand and I thought, ooh! Then as I bent to get it, it totally changed its look and I thought it was a stone. I went to leave it but at the last second I grabbed it and BINGO! Beautiful bonfire glass! There wasn't much brown around, so this bottle neck was an awesome find! Just leaning up against a stone!
