Unten im Tal. Falschauer Biotop. Das gesamte Etschtal war einst ein Sumpfgebiet voller Tümpel, Auwälder und Moore. Aus Angst vor Überschwemmungen errichteten die Menschen ihre Siedlungen auf den Anhöhen. Mitte des letzten Jahrhunderts wurde das Gebiet um das Mündungselta der Falschauer zum Industriegebiet, was der Natur sehr schadete. Ende der 70er Jahre erklärte man das verbliebene Falschauerdelta zum Biotop, das jetzt zahlreichen seltenen Pflanzen und gefährdeten Tierarten einen Lebensraum bietet. Long ago, the entire Etschtal Valley was made up of marshes, ponds and forests. 💭 As the result, the original human settlements of Lana, Burgstall and Gargazon developed in the hills above the valley, at a safe distance from flooding and the risk of disease. ⠀ Over the years, much of the land around the Falschauer river delta has remained untended. With the economic boom of the early 1970's and the industrialization that followed, the natural balance in the area was disturbed.
