𝑩𝒆𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑺𝒄𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒔: 𝑨𝒗𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒆 𝑨𝒓𝒎𝒐𝒓 𝑩𝒖𝒊𝒍𝒅 I’m too impatient not to post about it. This past year, I challenged myself with my first big armor build: Aveline (Act 3) from Dragon Age 2. What started as a ‘papa’s big solo project’ soon evolved into an Avengers Collab of the century. I didn’t have time to finish, but I had so many people willing to help me out. It turned into a labor of love, and despite it only being my first draft, I am really happy with how it turned out. It all started by commissioning the pattern on Etsy and getting to work. I’ve used EVA Foam before for smaller builds, but this was the first time I was making leg and knee pieces and all of that. Shout out to @gothelton for helping me with the paper pieces! I used @bluecatlab ‘s headquarters for like 90% of this build, so major shout out to them for letting me use their home (and make my sword and shield!) Another huge thanks to @coffeebeecos for letting me paint at their home and helping me fit some of the pieces. @briarwood.cosplay was one of my biggest cheerleaders for this project and completely saved my ass with making the little belt and all of the connector straps for my armor. And cradled my gauntlet so well that it held together marvelously. @shinybuneary was the ultimate hype man throughout the entire process, from initial concept to the first fitting. They helped put everything on me and made sure it stayed on during the con. And finally, a huge thank you to @superjoanjett for not only letting me use their office space, cresting my sword and shield, AND throwing the vest together for me, but for also keeping me motivated throughout the entire process and giving me tips and advice for the whole build. You and @darthgoat_official completely helped make this happen, and I am so grateful. 🙏🏻 I hope to show you all the finished product soon! Este viernes ,17 de mayo, a las 20:00h inauguramos la exposición de Anastasia Samoylova, «Image Cities», en las salas 6 y 7 del DA2. Para la ocasión, la comisaria Victoria del Val, realizará una visita comentada a la muestra. 👉 «Image Cities», constituye un estudio visual de la integración cada vez más estrecha entre la imagen fotográfica y el entorno urbano. El proyecto que comenzó en Moscú (donde creció la artista) y en Nueva York a principios del verano de 2021, se ha ido completando en otras ciudades como Ámsterdam, París Londres, Bruselas, Tokio, Madrid o Barcelona gracias al KBr Photo Award (puesto en marcha por Fundación MAPFRE en 2021). La autora recorre las ciudades y fotografía las imágenes de marcas de moda, belleza, propaganda de bancos, de inmobiliarias, etc.., que proliferan en las fachadas, las vallas publicitarias, los autobuses, y en los distintos soportes publicitarios urbanos. Anuncios a menudo monumentales que pueden encontrarse en cualquier metrópoli y que hace que estas vayan perdiendo su individualidad para ir convirtiéndose en una sola, unificada. En su lugar, trataremos de imaginar y probar propuestas colectivas que nos permitan experimentar otras formas de hacer, sin objetivos específicos. Las acciones propuestas para este taller parten de la idea de experimentar con las posibilidades de nuestros cuerpos, del trabajo colectivo y del juego lúdico. With great pleasure and honor I'd like to show our "The Hanged Man" (Shybenyk) art collaboration of 3 artists. The main point was to create a Tarot card with character that members prefer in style of Dragon Age's cards. Each member doing their own part - sketch, line or colour. So for a base we decided to take an original High Priestess Tarot card and interpret it accounting our own vision of Morrigan and her vibe.
