I've had a wonderful few hours in my garden studio and finished my first card using my new @andyskinnercrafts stamp set. I had the idea of an old sepia card so I stamped in brown ink onto kraft card and just added some white pencil highlights. I finished off with photo corners which I distressed using my scorched timber @tim_holtz @ranger distress ink. I have also made another inky version which I'll share tomorrow. Time to have take my cuppa into the garden under my sun ๐ brolley and enjoy the afternoon sunshine and then some gardening. After my glorious sunny walk this morning (check out my previous post) I came home to my sunny garden studio and spotted 1 last gorgeous parrot tulip flowering in one of my spring bulb pots. Inspired by this and some long awaited positive family news I decided to decorate the 2nd insert in my little accordion book. I could not believe my luck that after a good few year's search I finally own a @tim_holtz @sizzix Bigz Tea time die. I bitterly regretted not buying this when it was released in 2015. It has been long retired. I have been searching for years to get one which didn't cost an arm and a leg. I have just spent a delightful 2 hours joining my lovely friend Eleanor @eleanortomlinsonart who gave her first online Facebook live art class. I was lucky enough to attend 2 of her classes in London in person last year. She created and talked us through drawing and watercolouring an Easter bunny in a tulip patch with a little buzzing bee too. Since the new year, I've started to take my time with personal artwork, putting less stress on myself to get designs finished (I'm usually excited and a bit impatient, to get my ideas down on paper!). As promised over the coming weeks I'm going to share a recap of all 36 tags I made using the final 12 new @tim_holtz @ranger_ink distress colours. First we go back to 2020 when speckled egg, cracking campfire (one of my favourites) and rustic wilderness joined the palette. I have started making my 3rd and final @tim_holtz @ranger_ink distress blends tag using scorched timber. This is one of the backgrounds I made with peacock feathers and tumbled glass. As this is the final ever distress colour I decided the only stamp set appropriate to use was my @stampersanonymous "Professor 2" set. I won this set a few years back in one of Tim's challenges and it came all way from America, shipped perfectly by Mario. I treasure it ๐ I thought I would share the background stamping first. I'm back to share the outcome of the antics of my mini Crazy birds ๐ฆ ๐ โ๏ธand my 2nd @tim_holtz scorched timber distress colour blends tag. As you will remember Hermionie was trying to choose between her 2 suitors, Dapper and Bertie. Hermionie built a gorgeous nest, carefully colour matching it with her surroundings. First Dapper landed wearing his smartest red shirt and hat (of course) and a present, beautifully wrapped. Then Bertie flew over and presented Hermionie with a gorgeous bunch of flowers ๐. They both declared their undying love and told her how stunning she looked in her pink feather dress. She truly was a work of art ๐จโค๏ธ๐ฆ It was no good she had succumbed to both their charms and good looks and decided that they could both help with the chick rearing this year. I used the Scorched timber oxide to stamp with and embossed with the glaze. The birds were coloured with distress pencils.
