I love using papers instead of foils because I can get closer to your scalp compared to when I use foils. I never caught on to using foils. I couldn’t achieve the application method and all the folding and bending. I cut my fingers every time and I’m as slow as a turtle when using them. I wish I had a better explanation as to why I love them but that’s all it is! So breathe easy with these papers. This multidimensional blonde came out so well! My client was super sweet and didn't mention she, herself, was a hairstylist until I was just about to mix her color up. 😁 So it was fun talking shop while revamping her hair. I did a combo Full Head Foilayage and also a darker root smudge and low light while foiling. This all processed together. Her ends are a bit compromised from previous lightener and swimming in the summer's enemy of hair, chlorine. This matches her natural hair color and will be gorgeous growing out. I told her maybe in about 8-10 weeks we can do few Face Framing highlights and retone. Tricky Foilayage (Balayage in Foils). My client was in for the first time and after talking more with her I realized she had used box color a few months ago. 😬 No. It does not "just wash out". I went low and slow with the lightener after I saw how her hair reacted to a test strand. Her roots that were virgin hair lifted very blonde, but her mids to ends with color didn't lift as well. Which I knew would be the case. I had to do some toner magic and it still turned out beautiful. (Side note: After lightning her I was able to pin point the exact type of box color she used. I have been in this game a while). Her inspo pic was MUCH blonder but I talked to her about what the real results would look like. I also said to give it a few months and we could try to go blonder. . CHAT TIME: Real expectations have to be discussed. This is a prime example. I find some people put some crazy expectations onto hairstylists. I will do my best.. ALWAYS. That's never up for debate. What I want more people to realize is we are human. We live in the real world. Not everything is a quick tiktok or reel. Good results take time (might not happen in 1 or 2 visits) and money (I use high quality products bc that's what I trust and love to keep your hair healthy). Again, we are human too. The last 2 years have been hard on everyone. Being in the service industry and a small business owner has been intense. People will eat you alive. Please be nice. Finally got my name and logo on my door! Wooohooo!! . . I just wanted to say a few things about the past few weeks.... I understand alot of us are at our wits end or are very stressed out. I 100% get it. I also understand that I am not perfect (no one is) and that I am may not be the best fit for every single person that comes into my salon. And some people might not like how I do hair. And that's totally fine. But please note: I treat everyone with integrity, honesty and I truly do my best. I know I am not a conveyer belt stylist and I definitely take alot of time during my appointments. I have had a few redos here and there...It happens. But one thing I will not tolerate is being talked to like garbage. I will not engage in any type of conversation where I am talked AT in a degrading manner. I have a zero tolerance for it. From traditional highlights to a lowlight and highlight Foilayage. My client has a beautiful natural color and some older blonde highlights . She wanted something way more natural and low maintenance. I did some low lights throughout the back of her hair then added a highlight/balayage towards the face frame and her sides.
