Cosplay Retrospective Day 12 Hokuto Sumeragi | Tokyo Babylon, "Save A" Made/Worn 2016 Hokuto is a character that I love so very dearly, even if she is so obscure there is no official color art for this outfit. This was pretty much my first time making something with a "corset" and while it's not awful, I know I could do better now. The bow is also kinda a travesty. I'm still pretty proud of how the striped fabric came out, considering it's all individual strips of fabric sewn together. This exhibition will run from May 17 - July 31, 2024, & the opening reception will be held this evening at the Firehouse Art Center from 5:30-8:30 with live music and refreshments. You can see 2 of my cosplays on display this summer: Rey from Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Merida from Pixar’s Brave. I will be attending tonight’s event in cosplay, but I can’t decide which one to wear, so help me decide in this poll. Should I attend tonight’s event as Rapunzel or as Anna? Both costumes were made 100% by me, including styling the wigs. Five layers of Plasti Dip to seal the foam, now on to tape it all off again for painting :) BTW WEAR A MASK AND GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN USING THIS STUFF FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. This was just my second attempt at sealing with Plasti Dip (everything else was Mod Podge) and I’m pretty happy with the end result. There’s a few blotchy spots but they can be hidden with some clever weathering. Or they show right through because I assume I’m cleverer than the splotches. Before layering on the rubber, I used blue tack putty to cover the little push buttons and the real screws which worked… fine. There’s a little residue left that just won’t come off so it’s gonna be painted right over. Brook - One Piece (Crown Hat + Wig) 👑 Made this back in 2022 when I haven't branched out to accepting wig commission yet, hence using my yoga mat instead of mannequin head 😂 The wig is just a simple afro style but the big crown hat is the main piece here with the scale and design adjusted to client's head. Double Layered Comic Capes Technically I teased as these in a previous post. But these capes honestly look so amazing they deserve their own post! What more is there to say? These are my classic Comic Capes but lined with a contrasting color fabric to capture the magic of the Animated Series or the modern Rebirth style design. Of course you can mix and match textures and colors to create your own unique aesthetic as well! This does feature the new collar design that my comic capes have been using lately. This is especially handy for double layered capes that can get a bit on the heavy side if you aren’t careful. The collar helps prevent any unnecessary choking. Unless you’re into that 😏… in which case talk to a professional please 😜 All horribly inappropriate and unprofessional jokes aside (bc remember I’m a person not some sort of disconnected entity devoid of a soul, sense of humor, or personality. I’m a dude. Not a brand)… these capes really are an improvement on the previous version. Plus now these capes have a sleek new rod pocket design that fits in through the top of the cape like in the picture above.
