Hema Panesar gave a digital presentation on MBCT's mission n vision, which covered the 4 different avenues of public service, MBCT’s Partners, its achievements and success stories. Dr. Kavita Marriya, Trustee brought up the stellar role played by Prof. Mejie in mobilising village girls to be skilled to become economically independent. Hassan Mejie Managing Trustee informed the guests of key role played by Late Prof. Hardarshan Singh Mejie in establishing the Trust and navigating it for 10 years till 2014. Stewart Wheeler met with Kamaljeet Kaur, Monika, Paramjit Kaur, all three were beneficiaries of the CFLI funded Project 2023-24 "Improving Livelihoods of Rural Punjabi Women through Development of Traditional Craft with Design & Digital technology". Thakur Singh Mejie along with other trustees took the guests for a tour of the Vocational Training Centre, Computer Learning Centre and Phulkari Makers Bassi Pathana. Stewart Wheeler enjoyed the tour of various departments, he was fascinated by the skills of the young students in applying Henna (Mehndi). Stewart Wheeler expressed his appreciation of the efforts of the Trust to uplift the Rural Youth especially the women. He remarked that he could see the spark of leadership in the youth and would work together with the Trust to see them blossom into successful individuals in their chosen career paths and as responsible citizens. Such an amazing experience and journey it has been to be recognized as a changemaker under the #28For28 campaign launched by the High Commission of Canada, MASH Project Foundation and Save the Children India. I was invited to a culmination and flipbook unveiling event at the High Commission of Canada, New Delhi recently in the presence of Mr. Cameron MacKay, High Commissioner of Canada to India, where I met fellow changemakers across India doing really cool stuff for the planet. The #28For28 campaign is empowering the youth to lead action on climate change by showcasing the voices and stories of 28 young climate changemakers through open-mic events leading up to COP28. I was selected as one of the 28 changemakers across India for working relentlessly for environmental conservation and mobilizing youngsters for climate action over the past four years. Toronto: Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Tuesday said Canada was not looking to "escalate" the situation with India amid the diplomatic row between the two countries over the killing of a Khalistani separatist and asserted that his government will continue to have "constructive relations" with New Delhi. A Workshop was held on Element and Principles of Design with special reference to Colours. 37 students of MBCT who were taking an advance course in Embroidery under the CFLI 2023-24 Project participated in the workshop conducted by Simarprabh Kaur and Anila, Assistant Professors, Department of Clothing and Textiles, Govt. Home Science College, Sector 10, Chandigarh. They demonstrated various shades of colours using a colour wheel. The aim of the workshop was to provide practical guidance to colour mixing and visual effects of a specific colour. The participants were very enthusiastic throughout the session and learned a lot on the subject from this workshop.
