Fellow Friday is back and… it’s me, Grace! Hi, everyone! 👋 🤗 Hometown🏡: Dorado, Puerto Rico 🏝️ Medical School🏫: Universidad de Puerto Rico Recinto de Ciencias Medicas Residency: Children’s National DC #bearresident Why I chose Colorado 🏔️for fellowship: It was the height of COVID times and interviews were remote for the first time. I had initially decided I would only interview in the DMV area BUT since interviews were remote, why not interview in Colorado? It was “free”! Flash forward to interview day and I was convinced. Between our wonderful Program Directors (TP and Mama Jeanne), the fellows, and the banter/ sense of humor I was won over. During an interview break I interrupted my work from home now fiancé and said “CAN WE MOVE TO DENVER?”. Best decision I’ve ever made ❤️ FYI you don’t have to be an outdoorsy person to live here. I enjoy the mountains from afar as much as I do from up close 😅 Fun fact about me: My fiancé and I are on a mission to visit all National Parks within a 15 hour drive. So far we’ve gone to 10 in 2 years 🙃 Favorite food: PIZZA!! 🍕But more than everyone else… I have it 2-4 times a week 😁 #pizzaislife #postcallpizza Research interests: I study how tracheal aspirate cultures impact our antibiotic management in the NICU.

Gracias gracias gracias!!! Hoy es un día muy especial para mi. Como les contamos el primer día, nosotras somos unas apasionadas de la pediatría y el día de hoy se me cumplió el sueño de ser residente en uno de los mejores hospitales de pediatría en Estados Unidos! ⠀⁣ Gracias a toda mi familia que me apoyó en este proceso, que me dio ánimos cuando no podía más. Gracias a mis amigas por ser mis porristas, gracias a mis pacientes por dejarme aprende con ellos.
