It’s my birthing anniversary 🥳, so, naturally, I’m sharing this photo of myself in a red pantsuit to celebrate my baby born on their due date. Five hour labor! Vbac! No drugs! It could have been very different, I know. Nevertheless, indulge me as I throw a brief birth story party with words! There will also be cake and gifts and a small party for the child. I want you to know it took tremendous willpower to not smooth out those wrinkles in the red fabric using a photo editing tool. It would have only taken a few minutes. Snip, snip. But in the end, I didn’t want to distract you from the higher truth of it all. In the end, I had to do laundry and wrap presents and calendar and grade and work for money, for knowledge production, and you know, sleep. Maybe the more important question is, should I return this pantsuit? I think the abdominal wrinkles are a problem of external design, not my personal problem. You should also know, I’m not going to #awp24 this year, alas, but I am still writing fictions and some of them might appear here and I may post photos of myself as if I were going just to remind myself of my existence. And persistence. In case you see me at the grocery store or bicycling to campus in the rain, I do not usually look like this. Vím, že model byl navržen a ušit v České republice a nemusel ke mně urazit tisíce kilometrů z Číny nebo Bangladéše. Uhlíková stopa výrobku je tímto faktem výrazně zmenšena. 3. Kvalitní materiál a zpracování. Dobrý autor si většinou velmi pečlivě vybírá kvalitní nezřídka přírodní materiál, ze kterého oděv šije. Na kvalitě materiálu pak totiž stojí funkčnost a životnost modelu. 4. Originalita. Autorská móda staví na originalitě střihu, kombinaci látek, vzorů a barev. Já oceňuji a většinou vybírám jednoduché nadčasové střihy a barvy. 5. Unikátnost. Pokud si koupím autorský kousek, tak vím, že je jedinečný a budu ho nosit pouze já✌️ maximálně moje kamarádka 😃 6. Lidskost a férovost. Výrobce oděvu zaplatil všem, co se podíleli na jeho výrobě, férovou mzdu. Můj oděv nešilo dítě ani dospělý, který za svou práci nedostal řádně zaplaceno. 7. It’s been a while since I’ve posted on any form of social media, so I thought I’d share some writing and life updates! 1) My debut YA Contemporary Romance novel LISTEN UP will be published through @monarch_press on May 7th, 2024. I’m now finished with both developmental and line edits. So thankful to my editors Kelly Martin and Sally Shupe for their encouragement and insight. 💕 2) I finished YA Contemporary Romance #9 back in July and am now editing #3. I’m actually glad I put off revisions because I’ve learned quite a bit about the editing process since my last attempt. 3) I’ve written several short stories and novellas for fun. I’d never really tried my hand at short stories, and it’s forced me out of my comfort zone in the best way. 4) I scored Taylor Swift tickets! Upside: Once-in-a-lifetime concert experience. Downside: It isn’t until next year. 5) I visited two new states—Indiana and Michigan. One has bookish significance, and the other was nice to cross off my list of states I’ve never visited. I hope I’ll be able to share even more exciting news soon. Until then, enjoy these autumnal pictures, featuring my cat.
