Recently, a farmer-integrated training session was organised by ISRN and Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) for ISRN-promoted and NAFED-supported FPOs in Sitapur district, Uttar Pradesh. The intensive training session addressed important themes such as - awareness about climate-friendly agricultural practices (such as using natural fertilizers, benefits of Beejamrit and Jeevamrit), technological gaps to be bridged between the farmers and various institutions, novel techniques and technologies of agriculture and the importance of Training of Trainer (TOT) Programmes. At this session, scientists from KVK demonstrated detailed overviews of various crops and their cultivation processes, including specific production techniques and mitigating the risk of expected diseases during crop raising to increase harvest output and farmers’ incomes. #ISRN #agriculture #SDGs #farmers #farmerincome #KVK #agrarianpractices #scientificagriculture #agriculturetechnology #farmertraining

In this essay Annalisa Mansukhani reflects on Dharmendra Prasad’s inter-disciplinary practice that spans the mediums of installation, video, painting, photography and performance. Mansukhani looks closely at how he institutes new vocabularies around representations of agrarian practices, rural memory and indigenous knowledge systems, focussing specifically on his use of the photograph as a field note as he continually returns to the idea of the harvest as a site. ⁣💚 Self-Care Through Plant Care🌱Series, Part 3 ⠀ ⠀ I included the Ancestral Healing portion because it’s important that we honor that having houseplants isn’t a “new trend.” It’s not just about the aesthetic appeal plants give our homes. Throughout human history, plants have been used around the world in various ways for their healing benefits, as well as ancestral and religious practices; to heal the mind, body, and spirit. ⠀ ⠀ Sources: Psychology Today, WebMD, Journal of Physiological Anthropology, and Healthline.⠀ ⠀ Disclaimer: This is for educational purposes only.
