Sunday Acro Session -- In the weekly Sunday Acrobatics Session we practice Handstands, simple Partner Acrobatics, isolated and integrated acrobatic elements. The session is aiming to nourish the whole moving system consisting of brain, body and nervous system with complex variations of movement material. This, in a long term will lead to a wider range of movement capabilities and thereby to an improved, more flexible and adaptive human body. By failing over and over again, our body has do execute microadjustments which automatically make us more adaptive to anything that will come in life. In other words: the more movements we learn, the more we will fail on the way. The more we fail on the way, the more adaptive we become. Bittersweet feelings today as I leave my month of training @kalarigurukulam in the beautiful Bangalorean countryside and travel to the city to teach a #kamaladevamcompany workshop @playpracticeartistresidency this evening. I’m indebted to the true kalari guru #ranjanmullaratt and his wife Shiny for their indelible and compassionate training over the last 4 weeks. I’ve been a guest in a very special, dedicated community of kalari artists (of all levels) and had the pleasure of training with more residential students like myself at the end, sharing our stories of challenges and victories, however small, in living the kalari way of life.
