Friday afternoon we had the opportunity to make a barrette, pocket boutonniere and a flower crown! Of course we used our awesome cordless glue guns from RYOBI TOOLS USA. I also forgot to mention that I am know the proud owner of a @woodflowerflorists bag from @zolaforvendors which I'm very excited about. After all of the making we hopped onto our limo bus and had the best fieldtrip ever to Pioneer Imports & Wholesale! Check out the photo of my new friend Shelly and me. Pioneer Imports & Wholesale had the cutest setup for us with an arch full of baskets and goodie bags. We got to meet President Dave and his lovely daughter Stacey, who gave us some very helpful information about wholesale accounts and greenery. Then it was onto the sample room for some serious shopping! Don't worry I showed restraint and only got 4 boxes full of stuff😁I'll share a video of the unboxing later. After finally deciding on what I was taking with me 15 minutes before we needed to leave the staff at Pioneer Imports & Wholesale hustled and got my order filled. They were all so kind and helpful! Friday morning we started our day out with the amazing gals from @ryobitoolsusa . They were so nice, helpful and super great to talk with. Yes, I did suggest they should have a line of tools in hot pink😍I learned about tools that I didn't know they had and of course had to add some to my arsenal. Check out the super cool multi battery charger they have! After that @pioneerimports let us create with their amazing products. They set up a corsage bar and boy did we all swoon over the choices! I tried a different style of corsage which was so fun. They were so sweet to get wood flower samples and had their designer create a corsage with them so we had an example. (see photo, it's so pretty) @bout.boss also gave us an amazing tool to help us with making boutonnieres. Have you noticed the pink theme yet?! Our journey to the @woodflowerfloristsconference started Thursday morning. We stopped for brunch in South Bend, Indiana for a great meal at Peggs. We've eaten there a couple of others times and highly recommend it especially if you love giant cinnamon rolls. Then it was onto the Ohio Turnpike. If you think IL tolls are expensive try the turnpike😄While my husband drove I wasted no time and worked on putting rhinestones on giant letters for a local school's senior banquet that I'm helping with. We made it to Cleveland just in time for the welcome reception. It was only 2 hours long and then most of us went to dinner together. My Chronic Illness Story Hey y’all, I wanted to be real with y’all today. It’s been on my heart to share this, but it’s so hard to be vulnerable, especially on this page. I absolutely love my work as a wood flower artist. It brings me more joy than I thought possible! It’s allowing me to grow in ways I never expected. And it’s allowed me to meet and connect and minister to so many through my flowers. Making flowers is not just a creative outlet for me, though, or a way to support my family. It’s one of my biggest coping skills to deal with the pretty intense pain I live with daily. I’ve been dealing with intensifying pain and discomfort for a while now, and I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, Elhers Danlos Syndrome and fibromyalgia this past fall. And it has been SO hard to wrestle, not only with the diagnoses, but with the symptoms themselves. Actually, one of the reasons I started this business was to have a positive physical, creative outlet to help me manage the stress and overwhelm of these illnesses (and it does help so much!). I’m not telling you all this for your pity, but certainly for your prayers and for your understanding. There may be times when it takes longer for me to get orders ready. There may be times where I don’t respond, or I’m social-media-silent for a few days at a time. I love sharing my work with you all, but there’s days where I just don’t have the mental energy for it. Thank you all so very much for supporting this endeavor. It has blown me away just how much I’ve been able to do and make and connect and create through my flowers, and gives me a bright beautiful reason to keep going each day. 🥰💐 I hope you have a blessed week, friends!
