Yep… it’s that time again… I don’t actually know what time exactly, as my inner clock is at odds with what my phone clock reports as the time. I laugh about it, but then I remember when my babies were little… and their wake-up, and feeding times didn’t change with the clocks. I also remember finally putting a digital clock in toddler-Charlie’s room, and saying, “Here’s the deal, bud. If the sun is up, AND at the same time this first number here is a 7, then you can get up too.” Otherwise he’d be bouncing outta bed at 4 or 5am. Lucky for me, that kid’s a rule follower, so he bought into it. Here’s to all the baby/toddler-parents out there… solidarity! I feel you! Any-hoo… here’s a glimpse into how I begin journaling each day. Put it on the page! Look at all that blank space just waiting for my brain to spill out on it. It’s my sunrise therapy… accurately named “brain-drain,” to get past whatever is putting my mind on a hampster wheel. Scribble it down, then get out of my head, and into living life out loud. May your day be a good one, full of all good things… no worries if you stumble through. I recommend a brain-drain if you’re facing some sort of Goliath, or if you’re struggling with starting… starting anything.
