Story time: In 2017, I sent Jordan a link to a ring that I wanted, it was a hint, for sure. That Christmas, I opened a little ring box and there it was, except it came with no proposal. I stuck it on my finger and then went to my Momβs and cried like a baby because I was getting congratulations from people and it wasnβt supposed to be an engagement ring, but I wanted it to be my engagement ring + yeah Iβm just dramatic. So I gave the ring back and said save it for when youβre ready to get married. That Moonstone sat in his shaving kit for two full years before he pulled it out one Sunday Morning and tied it to Frankieβs collar (two years ago today). I loved that ring, so I got a custom wedding band made from my Grandma + Dadβs gold to fit around it, except it didnβt exactly work like we wanted. So last year before the wedding I ordered a new ring from @ringcometrue and the Moonstone resides back in itβs bag LOL Moral of the story, make sure youβre the crazy one + thanks for putting up with me @thewilmotproject π€

I started this business for our future as a family. I saw what other women in the industry were doing for themselves + their families and I wanted that freedom for us. We love to travel, we love adventures, we love play in general and what I had learned from experience was that if you didnβt carve that out, your life would be filled with work + exhaustion. Not how I wanted our family to grow. Iβve given up a lot of evenings with him to work on this business. We both know what the last 5 years of this business is helping us achieve and weβre both willing to go through the hard work to see our dreams play out. My biggest piece of advice for those of you in the trenches with me is to quit giving up. Quit starting and stopping because you donβt see immediate growth. 1095 days sober today π₯°β£ β£ The last time I drank I puked for 4 hours straight following, which was not out of the norm for me.β£ β£ I remember thinking, how long will my body tolerate this?β£ Why do I even bother eating well + working out if Iβm going to do this to myself? β£ It felt like self destruction + it was.β£ β£ It was more pain than it was fun.β£ It used to feel like an uphill battle to stay sober. Like a fight that I was constantly pep talking myself into winning but finally this year, it feels different. I think it was because I never really knew if I would stay sober or drink on our wedding day. I couldnβt imagine not celebrating with a glass of bubbly, gin or wine. I asked myself two things that I constantly ask myself when I go into a situation, βhow do I want to feel tomorrow, next week, next month?β βWill I feel proud or will I feel regret if I drink at this event?β Needless to say I didnβt drink and I told Jordan for about 3 weeks after the wedding how glad I was that I didnβt. Life is so bright and colourful without my gin goggles on π€ β£ For anyone questioning whether sobriety is something they want to pursue, remember βyou canβt numb the pain without also numbing the joyβ. Trust me, we had a blast π₯°
#LIFEFIRSTWORKSECOND β£ β£ Hubby + I just purchased our honeymoon π₯°β£ β£ Not exactly what we had in mind. We were thinking maybe Columbia, California, Mexico or Europe?!? β£ β£ But itβs none of the above π any guesses?!
Iβm not sure if itβs the time of year or the fact that at this time, for the past three years, Iβm normally at an event that inspires the hell out of me... but let it be known:β£ β£ There is a fire under my ass.β£ β£ This week I spun the table. I drew my line in the sand and committed to whatever it takes to have the life we want. β£ β£ The funny thing is, we donβt even know what that is. β£π€·π½ββοΈ β£ Iβve always been a firm believer that you must have a vision to place in front of your eyes with the things that you want in life.β£ β£ Law of attraction, baby.β£ βοΈ β£ And while it used to always be physical for me, no physical details really come to mind. What does come up is financial freedom, time freedom, waking up and enjoying my job. β£ β£ ππ’ππ ππ’π«π¬π, π°π¨π«π€ π¬πππ¨π§π. β£ β£ I donβt want to choose between coffee with a friend or going to work. Iβll do both, in the order that I wish. Iβll live at the lake for the summer. Iβll buy a sea doo just because I have no other plans. Iβll walk the dogs at 1pm. Iβll get up at 5. Iβll get up at 10. Iβll do whatever my body and soul need because honestly, Iβm at the top of my priority list.β£ β£ I know that sounds kind of silly.. like itβs 2020 bitch we all have to work but nawh...β£ β£ I came out of quarantine feeling the best Iβve ever felt and I know exactly why.β£ β£ I was doing what I loved. I was saying yes to coffee dates, zoom dates, checking in with friends, making time to walk my dogs every day, reading, colouring, crafting. I was LIVING life instead of working like a dog to keep my head afloat. β£ β£ And you know what?β£ β£ I felt more joy than I ever have before because I wasnβt completely drowning in work. I wasnβt doing work that was unfulfilling. I was putting myself first and my business second. I was ACTUALLY doing what needed to be done because I felt well enough to give my 100%.β£ β£ And guess what?β£ β£ I doubled my business.β£ β£ I worked roughly 4-6 VERY focused hours a day and I actually had the capacity to show up fully in that space. When I was working, I worked. I didnβt procrastinate because I was deprived of self care. A bitch was LOOKED after! π CONTD IN COMMENTS
The last two weeks have been amazing π€β£ A lot of hard work went into the planning and preparation of such a beautiful celebration of love π β£ β£ But we cannot celebrate our love without recognizing where that love comes from.β£ β£ The foundation of being a great partner is to first be your greatest self.β£ β£ The love starts within oneself.β£ β£ The love lies within every single day. β£ β£ The steps we take to love ourselves ultimately improves the life of the other. β£ β£ Thatβs why we hold each other accountable to the things that make us feel good β¨β£ β£ Some of our favourite shared practices include:β£ β’ sleeping inβ£ β’ working out β£ β’ morning coffee dates with his guitarβ£ β’ planning our meals so theyβre less stressful + extra yummy β£ β’ walking our dogs at the farm β£ β’ exchanging massagesβ£ β’ taking turns encouraging the other to stretchβ£ β’ any type of physical competition πβ£ β’ talking about all of the things we want together in the future π€β£ β£ One of my favourite things to share is that my wellness journey, that started with me just wanting to lose weight, changed the way I show up for myself, changed the way I show up him, changed the way he shows up for himself + changed the way he shows up for me.β£ β£ Heβll tell you himself;β£ If I hadnβt said yes to something that was an out of the budget, scary and laborious investment, our lives would look terribly different right now.β£ β£ Weβre starting a new program tomorrow, maybe itβs your time to try something different, maybe itβs your time to make an investment in your health, maybe itβs your time to find friends that support you in doing whatβs best for YOU βπ½β£ β£ If so, thereβs a link in my bio that will send you a free sample workout to see if this strength training is something youβll like π I recommend starting there π₯

I hope everyone gets to experience a love like this ππ½β£ β£ Marriage was never something that either of us wanted growing up. We both didnβt think it was necessary. β£ The funny thing is, Iβve known Jordan since I was 6 years old and for most of our lives we walked the same halls, both unaware of what our future would hold.β£ β£ My opinion on marriage changed when he became my best friend. Truthfully, our marriage started in 2012 and has been an unwavering commitment since. β£ β£ Iβd never had a friend that I felt the need to be with 24/7 π it didnβt matter what we were doing, the other was kept in the loop. We spent 15 months building our friendship and once I knew who he was, I knew he would be the man I married. β£ β£ It took a couple months of questioning our love to realize that the love we had was bigger than anything weβd ever felt before. β£ I knew the love was bigger than the risk it was to tell your best friend that you love him, like love love him. π β£ β£ I wrote:β£ βYouβre the first thing I think of when I wake and the last thing I think of before I sleep. β£ You shine a beautiful ray of sunshine on my life and if you feel the same way, there should be no reason why I canβt call you mine.ββ£ β£ He was already mine, I was already his, and we both knew it, so he responded with βI feel the sameβ.β£ β£ And itβs been a dream ever since.β£ Iβd be lying if I said we didnβt go through hard times but our intentions have always been crystal clear. β£ I would do anything for him, he would do anything for me. We know we can be completely honest with each other because neither of us are going anywhere without the other.β£ β£ A bond like this is too good not to celebrate. So now itβs official π even though heβs been wearing his ring around the house for 6 months πβ£ β£ Iβve never known a love as lucid. You can feel it radiate, from myself, from him, from us. βPlan a wedding,β they said...β£ βIt will be fun,β they said.β£ β£ L O F L π β£ This has been one of the most emotionally challenging times of my life and Iβve spent more hours crying this week than I have for the past 5 years and that is NOT a joke.β£ β£ All I can say is that I was born with this voice for a reason and unpacking itβs strength has been hard, messy and liberating all together.β£ β£ Anyway, I had a beautiful day with my nephews today and I am just sitting down to work now.β£ β£ I feel like we have almost everything looked after for the wedding but then again this month has been a complete disaster so maybe Iβm wrong LOL - what is something that you either forgot, wouldnβt want to forget or something that may be on your mind to remember before our big day?

When our wedding got cancelled, I was hesitant to plan anything again.β£ I braced for impact every time I made a decision, anticipating it to change or get cancelled.β£ β£ I refused to let myself get excited about the day, the weekend and the celebration because the thought of getting it taken away from us again was too painful.β£ β£ Iβve felt trivial sharing about this because of the current global events, but itβs what I am currently experiencing.β£ β£ We financially committed to a wedding of 300 guests and up until yesterday were still paying an astronomical amount of money for 30 βguestsβ to join us.β£ β£ This is a privilege that I quickly recognized so every time I got overwhelmingly sad, I would remind myself that this is happening FOR us, not TO us.β£ β£ I canβt begin to dive into details because it makes my chest tight but what I can say is that yesterday when the province announced new regulations, it felt like a weight being lifted off of my shoulders.β£ β£ There are places that I need to be, things I need to do and people I need to serve that this pain has been holding me back from.β£ β£ I didnβt realize how sad I was until I heard the announcement yesterday.β£ β£ Needless to say, we are elated to celebrate our marriage with our closest family and friends. We both know that there is so much ahead of us in this relationship and we are eager to dive in.β£ β£ Thank you for your support through this time, even when itβs been the smallest of worries.
Last night was magicβ¨π₯°β£ β£ I told Jordan a couple of years ago that if we were going to get married I wanted it to be in 2020. Iβm a type three and I liked the even number. When we looked at the calendar, we effortlessly chose 7.4.20 due to itβs simplicity + a deep sense of knowing. When the pandemic hit and we were faced with the decision to possibly cancel or postpone, neither of us really considered changing our date. Regardless of what needed to be rearranged, we were confident that July 4th was the day that we would get married whether it was the day we had planned or just the two of us.β£ β£ We had some friends over last night + it happened to be a full moon.β£ One of Jordan and Iβs lifelong friends brought up one night in 2012 when our relationship was blooming.β£ He said, βRemember that night that we spent howling at the moon, thatβs the night that everything began for you two.ββ£ Jordan + I looked at each other and replied, βwe werenβt together thenβ, βbut youβre right, that was the start.ββ£ I said, βwe were at that battery south of the farm.β β£ Jake said, βyeah we went to watch the fourth of July fireworks.ββ£ Tears filled my eyes, I looked at Jordan + said, βour wedding day.ββ£ β£ That was the night that our relationship sparked. We drove south of town to watch the Fourth of July fireworks in Jordanβs new truck. After the fireworks, we sat there under the moonlight. Jake started howling at the moon and encouraged all of us to do the same. I remember not wanting to do it. I was the only female and I certainly didnβt want to howl in front of these guys LOL π β£ They encouraged me to let it out, so we did it together.β£ It is a night that gets brought up often by the select few that were there, but what I didnβt realize was that it was a pivotal moment in our relationship + our soon to be wedding day.β£ I am forever in awe of Divine timing + the way it shows up in our lives but this experience will take the cake. I havenβt stopped talking about the synchronicity since π€β£ I canβt wait for July 4th when we can unwaveringly promise our love, under the same moon, a couple miles from that same location, with all of the same people who witnessed the sparks β¨
Iβve been in denial for about a month. I didnβt want to believe that the wedding that we have been looking forward to and planning for letβs say a couple of years, wasnβt going to happen. It feels like my heart is sinking to my stomach when I type that. If Iβm being honest, itβs the same feeling as when our business was broken into.... A mixed bag of sad, mad, violated + angry. And itβs taken a lot to get past that. Itβs taken a lot to process that while trying to come up with creative solutions. My brain literally COULD NOT move past the loss to even consider our options. I typed a big long explanation as to why but I erased it because it doesnβt really matter, itβs what I felt. Unless we postpone a couple of years, I donβt believe our wedding will ever be what we planned for. And I am just finally okay with that. I listened to a podcast this week that talked about the high levels of epinephrine + cortisol that we are experiencing right now and how our brains deal with those hormones. Simply put, our brains are trying to process these hormones right now, they are in fight or flight mode. The main priority is to survive, so thinking 1, 2, 6 months in advance is damn near impossible. The podcast recommended a simple technique that can help us tap into creative, positive solutions. I have to get back to working at the lake π but drop a heart if you want to hear what I did to gather my composure + move past the trauma. I want to share, I just need some more time to gather my thoughts..
When mom + dad ask if you want a puppy π€£ Their expressions sum it up Ha ha.. I wonβt lie, just like everyone else weβve basically cancelled the rest of our year. Weβre hoping to still have our wedding but at this rate we arenβt sure if it will even be legal and we are in a really tough place right now - itβs disappointing to say the least, I feel selfish at times but I feel absolutely robbed of so many experiences that Iβve been looking forward to for the last couple of years. We anticipate the next couple of weeks to be emotionally + financially exhausting as we try to come to terms with our reality, which I can barely talk about without bursting into tears. So weβre filling up on the little things like our freshly set up patio, the sunshine, going to the farm, watching the pups swim, slow mornings, strong coffee and who knows maybe another furry heartbeat. august 8 β’ 2019 β’ we joked all day that we shouldβve got the paperwork and got married right then and there. We both got to dress up, we had the most magical view and amazing photographer. π· @starrmercer I feel incredibly sad for the couples who have had to cancel their weddings already, for the ones who are still in limbo and for the vendors who have lost months of work. We dream about this day our entire lives, we plan, we stress, we save, we spend + we envision what it will be like and for some that dream evaporated in a matter of days. My heart goes out to you during this time. This unchartered territory is hard for everyone but just remember that you are aloud to be mad, sad, disappointed and hurt. HOWβS WEDDING PLANNING GOING?! The most common question in my life right now π so I thought Iβd share some of the lessons Iβm learning + some of the decisions that we are making ππ½ββοΈ Iβm typically an organizer/planner, love that kinda stuff β so I went into this process expecting to enjoy it, I do in fact, hate it. LOL So what Iβve learned π : Let the professionals do their job ππ½ and decide whatβs important to you and your SO instead of what everyone else is doing on Pinterest. It can be so easy to get caught up in the next best trend but like, βDO YOU EVEN LIKE PASTELS?!β π Things we know for sure: We want our wedding to be a celebration, a tribute to the depths of our relationship and the intentions that we have for our marriage. To us, that looks like a personal ceremony with a special + expressive dining experience so we went with @wallnutstogo to help us achieve that π€ Iβve been to a lot of weddings, Iβve been IN a lot of weddings, granted I was always wasted, BUT we can all agree that the day does fly by and you forget so much of what happens π€― photography and videography was definitely something we committed to right away. Forcella di Lagazuoi - one of the most recognisable part of Alta Via 1 β°οΈπβ β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β We loved every part of the stage from Rifugio Lavarella to Rifugio Lagazuoi. We started before sunrise to enjoy the beautiful light in the morning and make sure to arrive at Lagazuoi before any thunderstorms πβ¨πβ β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β Make sure to treat yourself with some hikes starting before sunrise π these are some of our best memories π

The views from Rifugio Nuvolau are spectacular πποΈβ β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β Rifugio Nuvolau is probably the most primitive hut on the Alta Via 1 πβ β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β No running waterβ β β β β β β β β β No showerβ β β β β β β β β β Only an outside toilet until at dinner where the one inside opens.β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β π HOWEVER, when you enjoy the peaceful sunset and sunrise, you quickly realise that it's all worth it πβ β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β What a place! β¨β¨β¨
