MY WILD WOMAN 💜 My wild woman is calling me, beckoning from the woods, a woodland nymph running free, free of musts and shoulds. This vitamin is converted in the body into a hormone that helps ensure the levels of calcium in the blood stay within a narrow range. It’s been known for some time that sufficient vitamin D is essential for strong bones in growing children. A search for further health benefits led to recent studies of vitamin D supplementation, but supplements did not seem to decrease the risk of a wider group of diseases thought possibly prevented by adequate vitamin D levels. How much time should I be spending in the sun? Too much time in the sun causes skin cancer, but there are benefits from some sun exposure. It’s all about finding the right balance. Only very small amounts of time in the sun is needed for the production of vitamin D and other molecules that may benefit health. 5-10 minutes on most days of the week is adequate. In the winter, the time required will be longer and varies according to whether you are in the north of the country (where 5-10 mins will still be enough) or in the south (where up to half an hour will be needed). SAY N🚫 TO DEEP SEA MINING OF OUR OCEANS!! My volunteer project for 2024, giving back to the planet, is to organise DeepRising.com Movie Screenings in every major city in Australia during 2024. The first charity screening benefiting Sea Shepherd took place on 28 January 2024 at HOTA here on the Gold Coast, Queensland. An expert panel Q&A with Whaia Creation (Maori Ocean Spirit medium) and Tiani Dunn (Marine Biologist) followed. Please support me in the vital work to raise awareness in Australia of the looming perils and danger of the mass destruction of our oceans deep seabed floor by mining companies. The deep seabed environmrnt does similar functions equivalent to our tree forests on land. It stores & converts carbon and is a critical part of the oxygenation of our oceans middle water where the majority of sea creatures reside. The goal is to raise support, raise awareness, fundraise and gather signatures to petition the Australian Government to join the list of countries who have placed a moratorium on Deep Seabed Mining within their ocean waters. Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne are next in line.
