Congratulations to @kingscanyonunified and Washington Elementary School on this week’s ribbon cutting of the NEW Student Care Center! This ribbon cutting was especially endearing, as Washington holds a special place in the Reedley community. Reedley’s first ES went up in 1891. In 1928, it was renamed what is now known as Washington ES. Due to its longevity, it needed a lot of updates and additions, which have taken place over the course of the last eight (8) years, including a cafeteria, outdoor area, parking lot, and now the student care building. This addition is huge for the community as it moves the entrance of the school to the back of the property, diverting traffic and creating a single point of entry on campus. #K12Design #Community
The district’s goal with Saddleback High School’s food service modernization was to provide adequate kitchen space to prepare and serve healthy meals while also catering to the students’ needs for a social gathering space. From spot survey to completion, the multi-phase redesign of Freeport Elementary School updated essential facilities, like the cafetorium and administrative wing, and expanded the campus with an 11-classroom addition. Safety was a priority, and we created better configurations for buses, vehicles and pedestrians to move through the parking areas. The exterior respects the existing campus context and look, while also providing a more modern and resilient building response, including the canopied overhang. A lush outdoor plaza supports well-being and anytime learning, as an additional space to hold class. Local flora and fauna inspired the finishes and environmental graphics in the interior spaces. #k12design #schoolsafety #architecture #design
Our sales and design teams travelled to Jasper Indiana a few weeks back for Dealer Training. We had a fantastic factory tour, lead by Chad (VP of Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality), and got to see the hard work and detail that goes into every product made at Indiana Furniture. We also got the chance to sit and chat with many of the internal team members and dive deeper into Indiana Furniture’s history, product lines and resources, as well as product development. Due to limited on-site storage from a sloped, forested site, the project is utilizing a just-in-time delivery system for timber. With 50 sequenced shipments of prefabricated douglas fir CLT panels arriving every two days, this approach has minimized storage needs and ensured an efficient, on-schedule construction. The Beaufort County School District has officially broken ground on the new Hilton Head Island High School! Driven by student and community engagement and reflective of Hilton Head Island’s unique culture and history, the new @hiltonheadislandhighschool will re-imagine HHIHS into a state-of-the-art facility for the future. This multi-phase project includes a three-story academic classroom building, specialized labs, media center, new cafeteria, career technology classrooms, arts learning spaces, physical education and athletic spaces, courtyard and parking. Upon completion it will be one of the largest design and construction projects in @beaufortscschools recent history. We had the opportunity to tour @honcompany's manufacturing plant in Muscatine, Iowa, which is a well oiled machine! It was amazing to see all of the detail that goes into creating the final product that we spec and install for our customers daily. We also toured HON’s new and improved showroom, which is gorgeous and so sleek. Congratulations to @kingscanyonunified on the opening of the NEW Great Western Elementary School! Our team celebrated with Kings Canyon USD and the community during last weeks ribbon cutting! Great Western Elementary School was relocated from the original location to ensure the accommodation of the full program needed to support the students and faculty members. The new location allowed for a more inviting entrance and common space while providing clear direction to visitors. The Great Western Broncos are ready to gallop into a new future and we look forward to seeing them thrive in their new space! #K12Design
