We have revised and refurbed the judging criteria, allowing competitors to see what exactly the judges are looking for. At GBPC - we aim to maintain the inclusivity and diversity of this competition, allowing p0lers to compete at their level in which ever style they desire! You do not need to fit your style into a box or category at GBPC - just bring your absolute best, think big and have fun! Our judges will be of varying different styles ensuring as much representation as possible. —— ⭐️ EMOTION - 20 POINTS Did the dancer evoke emotion and was it felt by the judges/audience? Does the performance feel expressive, authentic, artistic? Was the routine fun, dramatic, sensual? How did the dancer make you feel? ⭐️ PERFORMANCE - 20 POINTS Did the dancer execute lines and visuals? Was the choreography well put together? Did the routine have musicality and texture? Did the dancer have stage presence? ⭐️PROFICIENCY - 20 POINTS Did the competitor display clean lines, skills and strong techniques with their style? Less is more, did the dancer have quality movement, and tricks that worked with the routine and were well executed? ⭐️ STYLE - 20 POINTS Was the routine original? Did the dancer skilfully represent their style ? Was the competitors costume relevant to their theme? Did it fit the choreography and enhance the performance? ****Please note: judges will be informed that the use of songs that may have been performed to before are allowed and will not be marked down for originality. A performer will only be marked down for originality should they perform an act or routine that is copied from another performer/artist. All competitors will be marked out of 80. 1st place amateur intermediate at GBPC!!🥇🫶🥳 I don’t usually write much on my posts but last weekend was so special I just had to. This time last week I woke up thinking, did yesterday really happen?! I’d just performed at my first pole competition, which I didn’t think I’d get through to the live final of, let alone come first in my category - especially with the level of talent I was sharing the stage with! 🫶 My @greatbritishpolechamps journey has been a whirlwind rollercoaster but every minute of it has been worth it. Shoutout to @emma_.coffey for organising such a creative, kind, inclusive and inspirational event ❤️ I want to say a huge thank you to Cheryl @fitness.alternative for all the ways you helped me with my training, Lucy @lucypoledancer for persuading me to enter as well as all the support and tips along the way. 🥳🥈 GBPC 🥳🥈 This time last week I was competing in the finals of @greatbritishpolechamps and I still can't quite believe I placed 2nd in the Advanced Expert category! ✨️🥈 the standard of performers was so high, everyone who stepped on that stage deserved a trophy and I feel incredibly lucky to have been a part of it. It was great to meet so many lovely people and once again be reminded how friendly, welcoming and supportive the pole world is 💕 (as always, I did not take enough pictures as I was too busy watching everyone else be amazing in their routines!) I want to say a HUGE thank you to Jo @thefitnesshangout for all her help with my choreo and the performance and to Karla @vodkachikpole_pt for helping me with tricks and transitions - you are both incredible and I am so lucky to have the best instructors to learn from! I love this routine and cannot wait to be able to do it again! 🕺🏼 And an equally HUGE thank you to Sophia @daringwolfdesigns for working her magic and creating the most amazing, sparkly disco costume ever ✨️ This costume fully made this routine and I now want to be able to wear this many sparkles and to dramatically rip my trousers off everyday. Crazy to think this time last week I was on my way to Skegness to compete in @greatbritishpolechamps for the first time. I’m so proud to say I came away with first place in the professional amateur category 🥇 Thank you to everyone who was involved in the organising and running of the competition. @emma_.coffey you did such a great job and I’m sure @marilenainglepole will do an equally amazing job going forward. On the day I mentioned to Lena that she was the first person who believed in me. Just over two years ago I won first place at a pole competition for the first time and Lena came up to me and said ‘You need to be on a big stage girl’. If past me could see me now I don’t think she would have believed it. I’ve been on quite a few big stages since and I’ve loved (almost) every minute of it. There have been a number of people that have been instrumental in my pole journey and I’m so grateful to every single one of them. Also, thank you to the judges for your amazing feedback. It’s not an easy task to judge so many pole routines but I appreciate the amount of wonderful and useful comments I received. Here it is! My winning performance at @greatbritishpolechamps 🥇 I absolutely loved this piece. This was my first time competing as a professional, and I wanted to perform something fierce that would push my limits (and boyyy did this push my limits at points!) I wanted a different twist on the warrior queen theme and I’ve always loved this song, so it developed into a Mad Max style post apocalyptic badass warrior queen, weapons and all 🔪 This routine genuinely nearly broke me at points (I’ll share my hip-cracking fail in my stories!) and definitely took me way out of my comfort zone, so I’m super proud that my hard work and training paid off. Things didn’t go entirely to plan on the day - I don’t know if you can see but I tripped over my knife at one point (classic Jess) and messed my fonji up - if you want to see what that was supposed to look like, it’s a few posts back 😂 Huge thanks to @danrosenpole for helping me create this piece, to @ally.thepoleroom @fab.thepoleroom @biancaupsidedown.thepoleroom @rachel_brit @vanessa_bagge for all your help and support in training, to @fibourkedesign for bringing the idea to life with such an incredible costume, and to @greatbritishpolechamps (the team, the judges, the front of house, my fellow competitors, everyone) for such an incredibly well run and enjoyable competition.
