It took me about three weeks to frame this 😂 The first weekend I cut out the matboard and glued on the batting. The second weekend I measured and hand sewed a basting stitch around the edges of the design. And the third weekend I finally laced it onto the matboard and stuck it in the frame! ...but now it's done and ready for December 🎄🕯️ At this rate I'll have one fully finished object (FFO) a month... This was my first time using a basting stitch around the edges to make sure the design was centred and straight on the matboard. I sewed in this stitch just past the size of the matboard so I could see the basting stitches on the back as I laced. This method worked really well and I plan to use it whenever I have a design that isn't easy to eyeball. You give them the dimensions and they ask if you are hanging it horizontally or vertically because they do the hanging wire. Includes the glass and the foam board and super reasonable. A finish!! Color of Winter by The Blue Flower. I know spring has started but I just couldn’t put it down. I stitched it on 16 count Dune by Atomic Ranch I used all the called for colors, except I used the called for DMC 926 instead of Weeks Pea Coat for all the borders and letters and saved the Weeks for the birds and flowers. Same with Gentle Arts Piney wood. I used the called for for all the vines but used called for sub DMC 730 for the leaves because more green.
