As a mother I am constantly reminded that children are our greatest teachers. They are living examples of truth continually exposing opportunities for us grown a** adults to do the work. To do the work to question all that weโve been conditioned to believe. To do the inner shadowy work so that we heal and open our hearts wider. Many of you know that our son Will had a near death experience in January. Since then he has become a direct channel for Spirit delivering messages to us from loved ones on the other side. He has an incredible gift to see the truth; which at 11 years old can be conflicting at times; especially when it comes to school. His direct report, โWhen I go into the building I feel like a pencil with no eraser and no sharp tip. And itโs fake โฆ the posters on the wall are of kids smiling with the saying โShine Brightโ but mom, how can you shine bright when youโre not in a place that allows you to fully express who you are?โ This morning it was clear he was struggling to get to school. We sat quietly and patiently with him and I invited him into my spiritual practice of pulling oracle cards. He admitted he had a nightmare about losing my momโs earring (my mom passed last year). So much of my life has been spent in survival. I fought to have peace and hope despite my blessings because my life never really felt safe for me. God always carried me through the dark places, even when I thought I had given up or it was too hopeless. This week is National Volunteers week, which is Australiaโs largest annual celebration of volunteering. We are very proud that we are a pure volunteer run charity. From day one, we have dedicated our time, energy and resources into the wellbeing of our members and critically, our members families. We even have a digital sponsor that covers our costs on all things digital that help us run the charity (shout out to Dale @ @mortgagehaven for the sponsorship) so that any donation to us, all of it goes to the wellbeing of our membership. What our volunteers have accomplished so far, with no Government funding, is quite remarkable: - 1717 meals delivered to members and their families that are in need of assistance - 80 members and their families sent on respite weekends - firewood delivered and stacked, house and garden maintenance provided, fuel vouchers, food vouchers etc - sponsored three trained and accredited assistance dogs - maintain two Facebook groups, one for members and one for partners that revolve around support and advice - a podcast series that concentrates on stories of hope and achievement through adversity - delivered presents for some of our members kids when mum or dad is going through a difficult time - rehomed multiple dogs to members who didn't need an assistance dog, but a pet - conducted partner support days where we help partners understand PTSD and what is available to support this critically important cohort - conducted numerous social connection activities such as surfing, e-bike riding, 4WD'ing, fishing, movie nights, mini golf in conjunction with @aussieveteranscoffeeco., @youngveterans and other awesome ADF veteran charities - and so much more. This has all been achieved through the wonderful work of all of our volunteers and to all of those that have donated to us over the journey. Our volunteers are proper "boots on the ground" support delivering measurable and real support to those that are facing some high end adversity. #youareneveralone

I fought very hard for myself to find inner happiness from within, and to be able to accept outside happiness. It took 20 years, 10 of which was grueling work from 2003-2013. I found happiness, true happiness, and I love life. I am a fighter, I will never accept defeat. I learned from life, so can you. I endured DV, never be afraid to ask for help. MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS STACK CHALLENGE Today @greeneyedgirl0704 , myself, and a bunch of friends all decided to bring awareness to the importance of mental health by stacking green books and sharing about what that means to us personally! To see all of the green stacks, you can check out the hashtag #itsoktonotbeok2024 and staying on the lookout for a reel created by @greeneyedgirl0704 that showcases all of our photos!๐ Mental Health matters. Itโs real. Itโs important. It shouldnโt be dismissed. If you know someone who is struggling with their mental health, or if you are yourself, itโs incredibly important that you or they have support, a friend or family member who you can talk to, or visit a doctor or therapist. There is help available. Please donโt ever give up! ๐ช Mental Health is something even I can relate to- and itโs more common than people realize. For me, that looks like neurodivergence, OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder), and mPTSD (medical post traumatic stress disorder). For others thereโs a large variety. Regardless of what it โisโ, please know that you are never alone!๐ซถ๐ Iโve stacked green books and a more blue book, but that one is by Mental Health America, and contains important information. As the title suggests, it helps you know โWhere to Startโ. Iโm also featuring a custom doll that @libraryofthenight made for meโAza Holmes from John Greenโs Turtles All the Way Down. That book is so meaningful to me. Itโs the only book Iโve ever read that accurately represents OCD in the way that *I* experience it. Itโs not just being โorderlyโ or โorganizedโ- OCD is much more than that. @libraryofthenight does amazing customs and I wanted to include Aza Holmes in this photo with my green stack.
