[entry slide 2 / outfits slide 10 / extension but im hosed anyways :( !!] — "you clean up well, do you know?" "i do, but i could stand to hear it more from you, commander." "a moment complimenting you is never a moment wasted." "... sometimes i wish you had the ability to lie." — after their... camping fiasco, a garden themed dance seemed exactly up mirella's alley (and not at all up cain's). mirella's outfit came easier, with springtime hues and a clear theme of peonies throughout, with skirt layers reminiscent of petals and the flowers themself sitting between the top two skirt layers. cain, never one to dwell much on fashion statements, had a decidedly harder time being outfitted—that is, however, until a person in passing who overhears the designer's laments mentions that spiders and peonies were often found with each other in gardens, and a stroke of genius strikes. web imagery more than spider imagery is more prevalent, but it helps to connect the two fashion pieces together like a web should do. mirella even sports a familiar looking green ribbon in her hair that seems notably absent from cain's wrist... — "have you ever tried to lie?" cain shrugs a little, pressing his hand against hers as they fall into step. "not particularly, though we both know fae have the inability to regardless." "what is it like when you try to lie?" she presses on, taking the lead much to his relief. "does it burn you on the inside like iron?" he hums noncommittally. "it's less of a physical punishment and more as though it is impossible to do. that doesn't mean we aren't capable of deception." ----[ TOPOC ROUND 2 ]---- . The special night has come and it's time for the participants to dance in the grand manor hall! Zephyros is more than eager to see the dress and suit that he have designed for both Efrada and Larsa, but the couple themselves aren't so enthusiastic. However, something that they have kept secret from each other is neither of them know how to dance, so they just went along with the event. . At the dance floor, Efrada wears a gorgeous marine blue dress with white accent, completed with bright jewelleries and also a regal gold crown. This dress is inspired by a flower known as Crystal Mirabilis that Efrada have said to grown alot in her childhood home garden. Larsa's suit is more subtle, mostly consisting of earthen colors with gold decorations and a single red jewel hanging. This suit is based on a species of cactus called Golden Spikes, a local commodity that Larsa's family had cultivated in their multiple garden-farms. . The dance party have started and the couple starts to follow the other dancing participants awkwardly. Just a few minutes in, Larsa's and Efrada's legs unexpectedly crossed together and they both fell to the floor while attempting a spinning move. This caused them some embarrassment because the entire dance floor looks at them, but the rest of the night went well otherwise. ai attempts background pt. 2 (entry on slide 2) (please note: brandon is aroace. do not ship him. thank you for your cooperation) brandon did not like the large crowds at the ball. too much stimulus. socializing was not his forte, so he decided to step out of the main area and walk around near the pond in the manor garden, where he let himself think. the first place his mind wandered was to her. secret: brandon's big secret came in the form of his best friend, natalie. as he grew up, he was not allowed to show feeling, so he never knew what it felt like to be crushed by sadness or lifted up by joy. when he met natalie, she opened his eyes to a world full of emotion, but by the time he was sure this was how he was supposed to live, she was gone. brandon couldn't go looking for her, because he wasn't allowed to have been her friend in the first place, making their friendship his greatest secret. still, he wondered regularly about how she was doing and if she still thought of them as best friends. he missed her a lot, but he couldn't dwell on that. he had to focus on pushing through the new problems facing him, like what to do with all this feeling that he wasn't supposed to have. meaning of outfit: brandon's outfit is based on the skeleton flower (symbolizing adaptation), the blue star flower and the acacia flower (both symbolizing perseverance) to represent how he must continue to and adapt to his new self, and persevere through his inner turmoil to candidly show who he really is. TOPOC Round 2: Dance between the fairy lights *Unshaded and no background versions on second slide* Both Chord and Splats aren’t big fans of formal events and dressing up, but hey, at least it’s gotta be better than the campsite, right? Chord’s outfit is inspired by those funny looking gardening gloves you see in movies, since it seemed fitting that she’d opt for a bit of a silly theme. She regretted nothing and wore it with pride. Splats’s outfit is inspired by hummingbirds, specifically the velvet-purple coronet. She wishes she had some deep reason behind it, but really they just look nice and have her favorite colors. She had a bit of a hard time with dressing formal, since she very much values comfort and practicality in clothes, but figured something out eventually. As for a secret, a few drinks in, Chord started on something about how she secretly thinks that Splats must wear eye contacts, there’s no way someone’s eyes are actually that color (she doesn’t, she’s naturally heterochromatic). As far as a secret for herself, Chord mentioned how she secretly was always a little bummed about having inset ears, since she kinda wishes she could wear earrings. Eh, plenty of other ways to express yourself. ~~~ Gotta say, this round was super hard for me. These two were seriously hard to come up with outfits for that I actually felt like they would wear, as well as me having no experience in fashion design. Couple that with my finals schedule working out so that I only had a few days to work on this, and it’s a miracle that I didn’t have to drop out. Thank goodness for that 24 hour extension. Top OC Round 2 ~ Dance Between the Fairy Lights 🧚‍♀️ - Setsuko's outfit is based on iron fences found around a garden. - A fence is built around a garden to protect its delicate beauty, and keep whatever approaches at bay. Setsuko herself is the iron gate between the world and what seeks to ruin it, defending what can't defend itself. But she has built walls inside her as well. The garden of her heart, while beautiful, blooms unattended and with no one to appreciate it. What good is paradise when you have no one to share it with? Setsuko fears vulnerability, and keeps the gates shut tight, depriving herself of true connection. This outfit is what her Forme appeared as for tonight's gala. A Charcuterie Goddess' Forme is finely tuned to each individual psyche, and is always what the Goddess needs, not necessarily what she wants. Setsuko definitely does love this outfit, but doesn't realize it holds deeper meaning. Setsuko just likes spikes. Especially her amazing jewelry piece: the iron gauntlet :) - Setsuko's secret is that this is how her hair looks in her human state, but brown! It is as much of her true appearance that she is willing to reveal. Who cares about her regular self! [ENTRY SLIDE ONE] we’re going to pretend my super ultra last minute submission is because the met gala is today and it’s topical and not because I’ve been busy. okay! today annaisha stuns in a dress designed by a friend of a friend. she wanted to represent her hometown, kanazawa, japan, and so had a dress made inspired by two of its city flowers, the scarlet sage and the busy lizzie! the tulle ruffles on her dress’ bodice represent the blooms of the lizzie, while the ruffles falling down around her legs represent the vertical flowers of the scarlet sage. the dress is bright red, a color both of the flowers come in that also happens to be annaisha’s favorite color! her makeup is graphic liner of the sages, and she wears a lizzie in her hair. her jewelry is meaningful as well, wearing her finest gemstones— diamond earrings and a ruby anklet— but most important of all is her prized possession, an obsidian heart necklace. it was the first gift she ever received from her mother.. upon her adoption. that’s her secret— she is, in fact, an orphan. she hates when people find this out because she doesn’t want to be pitied— she works very hard in her day to day life and doesn’t want anyone to hand anything to her just because she never met her birth parents. she rarely thinks of them, anyway. for her, her bond with her adoptive parents now is equally as strong, loving, and important as it would’ve been if she’d met them thirteen years earlier. she doesn’t quite know why she felt compelled to tell this to you.. maybe it’s because you’re a stranger at a party, and you’ll never see her again, or maybe it’s because she’s feeling sentimental about her necklace because she’s competing in top oc, away from her family. either way, thank you for listening, just.. don’t tell anyone, okay? . . . #topoc24 #topocdiamondfox

As first time experinces go, not the best. Dispite never being camping. It's not something she'd opt for again - willingly, at least. A nice, civilised ball is just what she needs. Designing a brand new dress for the event is equally as exciting as the ball itself! Wandering around various fancy gardens, Amaya has always been drawn to the statues and the stories they have to tell, often finding those overgrown and old more intriguing. Thats why she decided to base her dress off of various types of statues, mostly taking inspiration from the common clothing seen on them and the moss and grit that eventually covers the stone. 🌿 The material of the dress itself is a stiff one, hoping to emulate the looks of a statue as much as possible. Having been to many an event in Solaris, Maya is accustomed to the buzzing environment of parties. That being said, she's not much of a dancer. @top.oc (2024) Round 2: Dance Between the Fairy Lights . “Much like you will, I had undergone quite the transformation. Albeit unwillingly, of course.” Contrary to popular belief, Reuben didn’t always look the way he is now. He was cursed! In trying to do a good deed, Reuben was cursed by an old hag many years ago, compelling him to live in the forest and away from human civilization. His fate is not a secret to those who inquire about his condition, but people in his world hardly give him the chance to explain himself. He has a hard time socializing with other people for this reason. When Reuben looks for food, he usually forages in the forest, plucking edible plants and mushrooms. One of his favorites has always been the shaggy ink cap, both for its looks and its taste. However, it deteriorates quickly after picking. In isolation, Reuben has also spent a lot of time talking to the bugs of the forest, especially little caterpillars. Doing so brings him great comfort. Although, it seems that Reuben’s soft sniffles have attracted the attention of another contestant. . Maren had Vivily bring her formal outfit from where she had it stashed away in the closet of her dorm room. It’s from her hometown in the ocean; customary formalwear inspired by the coral gardens where official events take place. The fabrics are specially made based on different coral in the garden: lace in the pattern of brain coral, the fabric of the pants with coral pressed into it, and shelf coral on the shoulders. And all the fabric has been dyed with techniques specific to that area, intended to represent the currents of the sea or the textures of coral. The dangles on the headpiece and bracelets are shiny rocks and shells, some dyed, and the broach is aquamarine. (They take the headpiece off to dance so it doesn't fall off). As the daughter of ambassadors, it was important for Maren to have at least one set of formal clothing (not that she was very cooperative about wearing it and showing up to events, though). They hung onto it because it was their only formal outfit, and now that it’s just for fun, they kind of like wearing it! As for the secret, it would be the photo evidence Vivily has of the time Maren cried after getting banned from the seasonal festival in Vivily's kingdom. She accidentally set a food stall on fire, and they got mad and kicked her out of the festival grounds. Later Vivily was able to convince the organizers to unban her, but she still holds that picture over Maren at any opportunity. Outfit ref is on the 2nd slide, 3rd slide is what happens after Maren falls off a bridge into the koi pond and starts telling the 'fish' all about Vivily's secrets, and 4th slide is the photo evidence of Maren crying at the festival. #topoc24 #topocdiamondfox

✨TopOC 2024: Round 2✨ "Well, would ya look at that! I reckoned this joint would be all dark 'n' deserted, but seems I've stumbled upon some company after all! This place is a bit fancy for me likin', but I reckon this spot's just the ticket for a good hangout." — Darii comes from Öphika, a forest where balls and fancy dresses aren't a thing you see everyday. She isn't used to think of, and displaying a dress, even less one she associates with something from a garden. She asked for the help of the friends she made at the competition, and they advised her on the matter (though they didn't tell her about the shoes) Darii, although not immediately sure about it, chose Yarrow because it possesses magical properties linked to love and protection, while its medicinal benefits include wound healing, anti-inflammatory effects, and fever reduction. Darii utilizes yarrow for its mystical aura and therapeutic qualities, making it a versatile asset in her herbalist endeavors, which is a perfect fit for her as a person and her special interests. The jewelry she's wearing are her friend Kyr's golden bracelets. Now she's loving the ball and while she sips on the glass she took from a waiter, she's willing to tell everyone in earshot a little secret "Come closer y'all, this is going to be a good one.... the dress you see isn't actually here, its all an illusion I created with magic. What does the real one look like? Oh, well, wouldn't you like to know?" ✨️TOPOC: ROUND 2 ✨️ [Entry on 1st Slide, Main Outfit on 2nd Slide] While gardens are filled with beautiful flowers, fountains, and tables, there's one rather forgotten element that brings it all together: the greenery. Bushes, trees, and grass are all such an overlooked thing that add to the beauty of not only a garden, but to an overall landscape. Insects, birds, and even animals depend on that greenery for shelter and food. It's simple but such a grand thing! As a kid, Turquesa grew up surrounded by rainforest as her backyard so greenery to her is a staple to what makes a garden- well, a garden! Her outfit was meant to capture that along with her own flare of gold jewelry. She felt the pieces resembled fairy lights. Along with her jade, which was inspired by the vejigante mask from her own culture, she's representing her the resilience, vigor, and jubilant ferocity of the garden she came from. While the manor held all the chatter, dancing, drinks, and food, Turquesa took a break from the social life to sit outside for a moment. Seeing so many with newly made friends, their romantic partners, and those who've worked with one another for so long made her rather nostalgic. She looked to herself. "Ugh, what's wrong with me?" She asked, looking out towards the garden with the few people out and about. Don't tell anyone, but she's been missing her friends and found family back in the city of Erymire. With all the traveling she's been doing for an international Villains and Heroes alliance she's been creating, she's found herself less and less spending time back where she calls home. Meeting new people and making connections is exciting, but sharing time with those that have been with her through one hell of a time much more is something that sometimes she feels she takes for granted. [Top OC: Round 2] "What a wasteful display..." . Growing up in a desert apocalypse, Orisys had never visited a garden and was unsure of what might reside in one. Even after being given a description, she struggled to think of something suitable to base her outfit on, until late one night, she remembered a small piece of her childhood, previously lost to her from amnesia. Eighty or so years ago, when she was small, the water crisis in the desert wasn't so dire. And while no one could call her world vibrant, plants weren't nearly as scarce as they became later in life. That night, Orisys recalled fondly the time when she discovered a small valley of desert roses, their pink blossoms floating above the desert sand. If anything belonged in a garden, it would be those roses that disappeared many years ago. Yet, despite what Orisys thought did or did not deserve to be displayed in such a place, she never could have imaged the object she found deep within the manor: A fountain, three tiers tall, spewing precious water into its base. For most of her life, water had been a commodity to be hoarded, more valuable than gold in some places. To see it displayed for nothing more than decoration was mesmerizing. During this moment, her thoughts turned to a figure from her past. Few know that Orisys once was engaged. They had lived happily together, until one day, Orisys disappeared for 10 years and lost her memories. While she remembered there was a special one she desperately missed, she knew nothing about him. If they were still together, and he was with her now, would he enjoy this sight? Would he ask her to dance, under the swaying lights? Or would he feel just as out of place as she did? As she contemplated to the sound of running water, Orisys had to wonder: why did she still miss someone she would never know? [Top OC 2024] #topoc24 ✨Round 2: Dance Beetwen the Fairy Lights✨ . Entry post on the 2nd slide . Sai has always liked Garden since he was little, it is a place where he trains and spends his time. However, the garden at Sai's house is not that big and full of typical Asian ornaments (no hate to the Asian ornaments, he's just a little bored with that). He always dreamed of having a classic pavilion because he grew up watching many classic fairy tales, it reminded him of childhood experiences full magical whimsical moment. Apart from that, he felt that classic pavilions looked cooler and more luxurious, which only rich people had, so one of his dreams was to become rich to build that pavilion. Thats why he's wearing Classic Pavilion inspired outfit right now. This outfit inspired by a Classic pavilion entwined with flowers, and his scarf basically just a "butterfly" Around the garden to make it more beautiful. . One of Sai's secrets is... He really likes dancing, he always secretly dances in his room even though he looks stiff. He was always embarrassed when he was seen dancing. 《TOP OC ROUND 2: Dance Between the Fairt Lights》 - @top.oc #topoc24 #topocdiamondfox - Entry is the first slide! - Took me some time to figure his outfit out but I eventually got something. I started off with something similar to Victorian styled clothing. The ruffles on his sleeves are supposed to resemble flower petals. I also based the colors off of pansy flowers! The colors of it reminded me of the Diamond Fox guild. I also choose pansy because its often associated with love and affection. His bow is in the shape of a butterfly, and the ruffles under it represents it to. The gold vines and leaves is a reference to the greke leaf grown. I thought gold accessories would make a nice addition to his outfit. - A secret about Stick, that cain he has might be stolen! Lida was ecstatic that the outfit they had packed was going to be of use. Except, the mask and the armour stay on because you can never be too careful about being tailed, even in another dimension. It doesn’t hurt that it would make for a great face reveal later on. After enjoying the ball at ground level, they realized that they would have to remove their mask if they wanted to drink anything, so they decided to bring some up to the roof, a place where they are much more at home. It was a nice respite from the ball; even a trained assassin can get tired from socializing. You decide to go up to the highest vantage possible to see the fireworks show. Yet once you’re up top you see a sleakly dressed redhead *Bang* They fire an imaginary gun as the fireworks burst. You spend a good part of the night talking to this enigmatic guest. They converse with a deep, practiced (if not a little stiff) tone. “If you please, stop with the Lida and Kusrichel. You can call me Kusrin. “they/them’ has also been amusing but feel free to use she/her” … “My outfit?” Kusrin explains that it is based of the design of gas lamps, a common lighting source across her world, replenished constantly through magic. Beyond looking cool, Kusrin has often been the enemy of gaslamps, as their light drives away the cover of darkness” “A secret?” She is pretty certain that you aren’t a spy, and explains that she is not actually originally from Lida. She was born into an abusive Melfanian household, one that was entrenched in a covert network of revolutionaries supporting the Restoration faction of the military. When the MOHS gathered intel on this network, she offered her services as a spy in return for recruitment into the Order. She gestures towards her double sword pin, a symbol of the MOHS. Yet she still wears the family heirloom of an emerald necklace. She wants to return to the unstable Melfan soon to set things right”. Creator note: This piece made me realize how bad I am at drawing within a deadline 😭😭😭 Many many things I could have done better with more time but alas. TopOC Round 2 - entry on slide 1! . No matter how many swanky places Mako has performed at, the sparkling lights always manage to take their breath away. They adore the glamour of Lord Ascan’s manor, but most of all, the dance floor! Mako spent so long on the stage in the past that they almost forgot how incredible it feels to let loose and cut a rug. They chose a stylish pair of slacks to give them plenty of wiggle room, as well as a set of dancing shoes. To fit the garden theme, they chose to embody a calla lily, with a comfy yellow pistil boa and a flared collar. The boys were enjoying the party when suddenly, a mysterious yet kind person approached and started talking with them. “My outfit?” Natsuki replied to make sure he understood the question. The music and his synesthesia were distracting him when the stranger asked. “It’s inspired by Zeltus butterflies. They are so pretty, so that’s why I chose this one.” Natsuki leaned closer and whispered, “Do you want to know a secret? I snuck our bandmates Kaz and Cain into the party.” He giggled. “It doesn’t feel like a party if the four of us aren’t together.” “My outfit is inspired by moths,” Daren replied “more specifically white and luna moths, because I wanted something to match with the butterfly Natsuki chose. I don’t think a butterfly would suit me, so I went for moths instead. They also fly and are cute, but their colors aren’t as bright as butterflies. Both Natsuki and I also decided to wear silver jewelry with flower ornaments—it was his idea. Adding chains with hearts was mine. Can you imagine? With unique golden cap & spiral features, some believed that it was a plant gifted by Phantasia to keep in contact with humans–a belief formed due to the "magical" visions experienced when ingested by humans from its hallucinogenic & hypnotic properties. The fruiting bodies thrive at any magic-rich areas, especially above the Golden Roots that run beneath the Island. Its eye-catching appearance & rich history of this otherwise common plant gripped her interest. Mia often collects Dreamershrooms due to them being her favorite color, its abundant growth in her family's garden & their nutritients. As she grew in the elven kingdom she quickly realized she was very different from everyone else. Despite adoring the fancy balls, the outfits, the mood, the music, Astraea always felt alone. Though it wasn't something she enjoyed talking about. She was quickly snapped out of her trance when her group showed up to support her for the big day. Ferdith the dragon born, Xila the halfling, Forrick the dwarf and of course, Arka her partner. While everyone got ready together a strange package was left at the room. A small box with several fine pieces of jewelry and a bouquet of many red flowers. While Astraea was a little weirded out by this she wasn't one to abandon a gift. She adorned the jewelry. Her dress loosely inspired by the showy gentian vine she hadn't felt this confident in a while. The flower was always a gorgeous one to her. Round 2: Dance Between The Fairy Lights The two clerics find their way to the dance floor, trying to forget about their worries for just one night. It’s rare for them to be invited to such a fancy event so they made sure to look their best. For Momoko’s dress she took inspiration from peach tree flowers. These flowers are actually how Momoko got her name. When Momoko was a baby she was found abandoned in a peach orchard by a member of the Temple of Radia. The member noted the similarities between the baby’s skin and hair coloration and the flowers in the orchard. For this she was named Momoko. Which means peach. Momoko is very thankful for the temple taking her in and she’d do nearly anything for them. Despite her current quest being to help the temple she secretly hopes that she’ll be able to discover her origins and track down her true family along the way. For Moss’s outfit she decided to trade in her mushroom hat for a mushroom themed dress, an Inky Cap mushroom to be specific. During her time in the Feywild she picked up the hobby of collecting various strange mosses and fungi found in the realm. Her favorite being the Inky Cap. One day while out collecting she met another Feylost, a man named Julius. After some time the two became close. Julius was like a mentor to Moss.They helped each other survive in the strange realm. Unfortunately, when they found the exit out of the Feywild the two got split up. Moss now hopes to find Julius again, but she’s also terrified of finding him again. A ball? That was a first for Jax and Baskarr. But hey, an evening of music and dance sounded like a blast - and what’s a dance if not one passionate sword fight, right? When it came to choosing their outfits, they each had a bit of fun with it, picking inspirations not just for themselves, but for each other too. Jax went with spiders for himself, a nod to his drow heritage. For Baskarr, Jax chose sparrows. When asked why, Jax grinned and said that sparrows are often associated with impending death - “just like you!” But what Jax didn’t mention was the significance of sparrows to sailors, believed to guide them to the afterlife if they perished at sea. It was Jax’s way of saying, “As long as you’re with me, I’ll feel safe, even in the face of death.” On Baskarr’s side, he opted for Edelweiss flowers, symbolizing courage and devotion, a reflection of his faith in Valkur. As for Jax, Baskarr chose Lotus flowers, often associated with rebirth. Following a significant event in the past, which earned Jax the nickname “Phoenix” from Baskarr, the dragonborn cleric felt as though not just Jax but he, too, experienced a personal rebirth through Jax’ actions. In these flowers, Baskarr saw the embodiment of Jax’s indomitable will and the promise of a brighter tomorrow, a sentiment he cherished deeply in their shared journey. However, things had been a bit strained between them lately. It wasn’t just that Jax’ outfit inspiration made it embarrassingly obvious what Baskarr would have preferred to keep for himself: The “big bad strong dragonborn” was absolutely terrified of spiders. But as the evening unfolded, and Baskarr found himself drawn into deep conversations with other contestants (fueled in part by a few too many drinks), he, too, revealed something he hadn’t shared with anyone else: their crew had encountered a mysterious sea kraken recently, only narrowly escaping with their lives. Round 2 Top Oc- Kathy For her outfit, she wanted to sew it a bit herself, so she took a potato sack since she found that in a kitchen, for her bodice. The other parts were made of fabrics and plants she found around (she “totally” didn’t steal anything from anyone). The inspiration for her outfit came from her friend Cactus, aka, her garden inspiration was a cactus because she obviously loves cacti. Now most things she owns are dirty, and since she doesn’t know how to make jewelry or shoes she “borrowed” some from her fellow pirates, which goes into her secret. Description: Being semi-terrestrial merfolk, the father daughter duo had no trouble slithering out of the waves to join the rest of the glittering party goers for the dance. The flowers adorning them were freshly plucked and meticulously woven together. Odessa was delighted to attend one of her first real balls, though Kier isn't enthused about the prying eyes surrounding them. Outfits: Both of their props make a reappearance with Odessa wearing her crown, and Kier bringing his trident, due to his distrust of the other contestants. Odessa's outfit is based from orchids, because they represent beauty, refinement, royalty, strength and luxury. Her jewelry is her crown and orchid bracelet. Kier's outfit is based from hibiscus, representing royalty, power, fame and glory. His jewelry is his necklaces. Both outfits are fully visible in the first slide, as they don't wear anything on their tails. Secrets: Odessa's secret is that she doesn't hate humans, but finds them fascinating instead. Kier's secret is that he would snack on the other contestants given the chance.

Round two: dance between the fairy lights. "Ohh my goddess, a ball and what a wonderful location! The people, the nature, the fairy lights, everything is just so beautiful!" Unknown can't hide her excitement as soon as she and Beez enter the premises and she immediately sees the other contestants dancing all over the place. (For more, look at the little comic) Beez is wearing jewelry Unknown specifically made for him, she figured that his midsection could be covered by golden silk that's being held up by rings which attach to his rib spikes. After hours of melting and shaping gold and metal (and burning her fingertips), she finally had the perfectly fitting pieces ready for Beez. For once he was nice enough to let her put her invention on him without a comment, another success in Unknown's eyes! Unknown is wearing jewelry she had taken with her for some reason when she had fled the place she originally came from. She didn't know if those used to be hers or if she had stolen them, but the perfect fit and the writing on them told another story, and besides, why else would she have found them in her emergency bag? Unknown's outfit is based on the Squill  flower, which symbolizes loyalty and new beginnings. Those fit her to the T and that's why she chose to base her dress on the different colors one can find the Squill flowers in. She didn't know that the more known name in Mortalis is "Scilla" and had to apologize plenty of times to Beez before she was able to get on his.. better side again. Beez' outfit is inspired by the Raven: an animal that has many meanings and omens attached to it. Many associate the bird with loss and the ability to connect the material world with the spiritual. Something he desperately wished he could do to see Blue just one more time to ask her how he could possibly find her. "I guess my secret is that I think I am beginning to like him a lot." Unknown points at Beez and then immediately backs up, too embarrassed to stay but too polite to run away. Beez leans in "I will... Break a... Promise soon." (⚠️ Also: content warning for… vampire eating habits) Valentine isn’t really one to wear unpractical, fancy clothes, so for the theme of the ball he chose a formal, classy black suit with red, floral decorations, inspired by the Rosae Vulturis (last slide!), a very important flower in the story of Nightfall. The flower allows vampires to eat normal food, walk in sunlight, but also weakens them - it basically makes them more human. Every vampire is required to take the essence of this flower (either through drinks, food or even Rosae chewing gum and toothpaste) so that they don’t need to feed on humans. This controversial law has divided the vampires. The jewelry he chose is also very minimal: a few rings and a pin displaying the flower. The colors are inspired by the only colors Val willingly wears, but also by the color of the flower. Don’t tell anyone I told you this secret, but Valentine is only wearing this outfit inspired by the flower as an act - he doesn’t like the effects the flower has on vampires and he thinks by wearing it no one will think he is actually a bad guy and follows all the rules. Despite this, he diligently returned to his carefully rehearsed elegant motions and pleasant smiles. He put on an ensemble specifically crafted for occasions like this, that was inspired by Queen Idalia's, Aluré's mother's beloved royal rose garden. The butterfly, usually not to keen on wearing anything, had an incredibly light, bedazzled wing cuff made, that was reminiscent of a peacock butterfly's pattern, which could often be seen in said garden. "I hope you understand that I can't in good conscience reveal any state secrets that might compromise my people's safety, but maybe you will find this rather amusing: Queen Idalia, my mother's famous rose garden is praised by many, especially since it is tended to by the queen herself. Yet little do they know that she doesn't quite have the talent to keep the flowers alive every time, so to make it look presentable anyway, she's had some of the flowers replaced by incredibly realistic replicas before. A chasm grew between them, pushing Mori not just out of Viv’s life, but out of public favor. Centuries passed. Mori learned to keep to herself and not bother anybody. Viv learned to bury the guilt. Mori has always wanted to mend their friendship but has no idea how to even begin. And although it’s not a secret she’d ever admit, she’s grown to love Viv on a level far deeper than friendship. Of course her apprentice Phoenix, nosy and stubborn as he is, saw the invite to the formal garden party and knew it was the perfect opportunity. Mori was resistant to the idea. To be catapulted right back into the artificial high-society nightmare? And how would Viv take it? But at some point she had to take a leap. Nobody can stay in their comfort zone forever, or else nothing would ever change. For her outfit, she drew from parts of the garden that others loved to ignore: dead leaves. Rotting logs. Fungus. Mold. It was comfortable. It felt like HER. If she was going to step away from the shadows where she hid herself, having the familiar armor of decay helped. She was a forest ranger, but it was more than that: nature was a place of solace for Mason. When her world came crashing down, she too mutated into something new. She wasn’t born half-moth, but she’s not going to complain! They are her favorite insects, after all. So when she heard she had to wear something “garden” themed, she knew just the idea! Her dress is inspired by the Luna moth, which is funny since her favorite color is also green! The yellow ruffles on the sides of her dress resemble the Luna moth’s wings while the long skirt is supposed to resemble its underbelly! In her hair lies a chocolate cosmos, which means “enduring love” which makes sense with her secret as well. Now a secret about Mason is that her current girlfriend was also her first love! Before Lilianna transitioned, she and Mason were childhood friends. Mason used to be head over heels for her, collecting flowers from their schoolyard to give to her. However, Lilianna and Mason drifted when she disappeared and Mason ended up dating a boy named Adam during high school - which didn’t end well. TOP OC ROUND 2 ENTRY 1ST SLIDE (2nd is full gown sketch) Soren: Although not my style, this gown was the only thing around. I used it at the ball when we tried to infiltrate the castle for the first time. Note the empasis on tried. *sigh* The theme was "deadly" (not a great theme if you ask me, I like the our garden theme much better), and as such, my gown is inspired by Foxglove, a common garden plant that is extremely poisoness. It's can be blue, pink, or purple. As you can tell, I like purple. According to Karasu, the top flair things are the same shape as the leaf, and the gown is the shape of the flower. I have my usual jewelry, choker, and ring, but I also have on my bracelet. My dad made it for me. It's sort of a right of passage in our family (although I had to fight for mine). It has a chain from each family member, with 2 chains for me, so I can pass one onto someone else. Parties aren't my thing, that's why I'm in the library. And don't think you can get a secret out of m - oh god no. (Singing) "I got cursed, aagaainnn! Aren't you glaaad I broughttt yourr dresss?" Ok. Fine. You want a secret, you got it. Artist: Had a ton of fun with this one! Although I'm not completely satisfied with the background, I do enjoy how this turned out. Drawing Tie being chaotic in the background was a ton of fun! Also, if you look at the books, they are all references to books in our world (it's probably hard to see since I had to blur it, but if you can make anything out 👀). Soren's dress was interesting to draw. It's not reay zir style, but it's what the lore needed, so sacrifices were made. However, I think the end scene for *lore* with zem in an outfit they don't like could provide some room for romantic things and chats about gender presentation, dysphoria, body dysmorphia, ect, which would be fun to explore!

[JUDGE ENTRY - ROUND 2] Entry on 2nd slide! Sora was ecstatic to find that despite the camping fiasco, he’d still be able to make use of the fancy outfit he’d brought for the competition. Donning a shiny new beret and a gold face chain, he sauntered proudly into the ball with an outfit inspired by the blue carnations he was so fond of in his own universe. But why carnations, and of all things, why blue? Well, the answer is a little more complicated than one would think. Though he was never one to hide this, Sora is not, in fact, a human- instead, he actually belongs to a man-made species called Dolls, created for the sole purpose of becoming workers for an aging population. However, by some mistake that occurred during his creation, Sora was born with the capacity to feel human emotion- a trait Dolls weren’t ever meant to have. Because of this, deep down he feels a great sense of loneliness: his body was too artificial to connect with the humans that created him, yet living with his own kind made him yearn for a deeper connection they could never give. In his world, what makes you human is the presence of a soul: hence, Sora’s greatest secret is an impossible wish - the desire to have a soul to call his own. In flower language, carnations symbolise passion and captivation, and whilst they come in many colours, blue ones can only be created through artificial means. Round 2: Dance between the Fairy Lights I'm thankful to be invited into Lord Ascan's Manor. As much as I enjoy camping, there are more than a few comforts I miss in the wilderness. I'm understandably excited for the ball too. Not only do I love music and dancing, this is also one of the rare occasions where I'm not responsible for the entertainment. Like any artist, watching or listening to others is a great source of inspiration as well. I've always liked water fountains, hence the dress, they give me a point of relaxation in the chaos of an exciting evening. Of course I had help creating the actual dress itself, though the most spectacular effect is as you might have guessed, channeled by my own magic. I glide onto the balcony, surrounded by a cascade of fairy lights. The music swirls around me, and I dance as if nothing else existed. Lost in the rhythm, I twirl gracefully, my mind consumed by the enchanting melody. But behind my serene facade lies a hidden truth – an evil twin sister named Kalista, born from a spell gone awry. Though identical in appearance, Kalista stands slightly taller, a mere two centimeters. She is wanted in several cities for leading an organized crime syndicate. Since we're identical, I have to give those cities a wide berth. Wanted posters don't care about 2 centimeters. TOPOC ROUND 2 🦊💎 Their time camping had aggravated Julian and Kohaku’s anxieties, so they’re both relieved to be indoors. Upon being invited to a fancy party, Kohaku insisted on picking out cute outfits with gold, ‘winner-worthy’ accents for the both of them. Where did Kohaku turn their inspiration? Bugs, of course! Maybe not the most glamorous side of a garden, but an absolutely crucial one. Kohaku picked butterfly for themself and bee for Julian. Subconsciously, Kohaku actually thinks that Julian is like a butterfly; a cocoon to someone amazing and beautiful, if given the chance to flourish, and himself the bee; a hard-working overachiever with a harsh sting, though only out of self defense. Without meaning to, Kohaku wanted them to dress up as each other… At the dance, the lively atmosphere and a few sips of wine are enough to bring them both to the dance floor. For just a little bit, all of their insecurities and fears are forgotten, and they’re completely lost in each other’s eyes as their bodies swirl around in sync. … but the moment wouldn’t last. Before either of them could do something that would change their friendship forever, Kohaku suddenly and wordlessly disappeared into the crowd. Julian, suddenly conscious of the crowd around him, shuffled away. It has many motifs to do with Zephyranthes [rain lily], and colours reminiscent of Phoenix, the ancient spirit of celebration! Though… I do feel a tinge of sadness when I wear it. Could be down to that choker around my throat, or just because I was wearing this when I was reborn. Or it’s because the clear sky reminds me so much of my final moments. Uh, angsty stuff aside (ignore the star-like tears, it’s all fine), it’s actually pretty fun jumping from pole to pole, following the fairy lights! I’ll never pass an opportunity to do some fancy footwork using the power of parkour. And my wings, of course! I’m kinda “blessed” to know everything that has happened in my world so I hold a TON of secrets. One that I’m pretty sure is safe to say though is that every spirit’s name is a funky, jumbled up version of their original name. So my current name, Starry, is just an anagram of Rystra. Though, Ryst does mean (north) star in Demish [one of the languages of the Archipelago, mainly spoken by demi-humans] so it kinda kept the same meaning. Pretty neat!” Starry flies into round 2 wearing her prime spirit outfit, with her old choker and lone earring being her accessories. The outfit is based around Zephyranthes, a genus of flowers known to symbolise new beginnings and rebirth, that tend to be used as a symbol of the prime spirits. TOP OC ROUND 2! Entry on slide one! It’d been a long time since the last marchioness of the white roses had been to a ball. How long ago was it? A decade? A century? Nasrine couldn’t quite recall, but she was quite grateful for the help of the stylists who seemed to swarm those who were without a ball gown! She chose a design with light green vines and pale pink roses, standing out against her pale skin. Red earrings and a necklace that looked like teardrops were next, and of course a strand or two of pearls! She had wandered into the gardens, a matching cane to her dress in hand, and paused to rest upon the cool stone of a water fountain, admiring the twinkling lights above and the two fireflies who decided to join her! Thank goodness this event took place at night- Nasrine couldn’t take any more of the scalding sunlight. What secret of hers could she tell? There were many things the young immortal was hiding. And there were no hints as to how big or small the piece of gossip had to be! She took a look around the garden, and upon identifying several flowers she recognized (her best friend Georgi kept a lovely greenhouse back home,) an idea came to form. “My first ex is an evening primrose, for inconstancy. As for the necklace, he thought it was fancy As for a secret, this one should count for Rubedo as well as most other demons (Man this is gonna sound so dumb and edgy but it’s a secret that he would tell so I’ll just curl up in a corner) You ever think about how demons can just directly kill a person as they’re way stronger but often chose to go through the trouble of possession and manipulation? It’s like saying you played someone like a fiddle (or the cheap kazoo they are) If we translate a person’s behavior to music we’ll play a different song for everything we do. If someone spends enough time around us they’ll get an idea of how the instrument is tuned. However not all the dissonant music that’s ever played comes from the instrument The demons know everything, from the music you play to the nerves in the wood of your instrument, to what it would take to make you play out of tune forever. We know our own minds but never completely. There remain blind spots, things we can’t talk about because no one, not even ourselves truly understand. However the demons do, for they are the musicians and simply love playing us out of tune. They can tear you to shreds, but they don’t need to, they are fare crueler than that. Top OC Round 1 (OOC) - 🌿Left in the Wild🌿 Sucrose is actually pretty excited to hear that they're all going camping. She's never been before! While she may not know what calling entails, she's totally looking forward to the new experience. Luckily though, Anubis does have some experience and is happy to guide her. He's also surprised at being removed from the hotel as soon as they arrive, but is not against spending the night in the wilderness. Camping is basically like staying in a hotel- it's just outside! After taking a quick moment to change into more appropriate clothes, the couple gets to work helping out their fellow campers. Since Anubis has gone camping before, he knows making a fire will be important. It's necessary for providing heat and light, as well as singing campfire songs and roasting marshmallows! So he instructs Sucrose to gather the kindling while he sets up the fire pit. A little while later she returns with plenty of sticks and leaves, but covered in dirt and scratches. One day she'll learn to wear practical clothes. Unfortunately, the props they brought won't be of much use to them right now. Top OC #1 . Stranded out in the wilderness, Beanie starts to panic. Immediately digging through her trunk of stolen items from the ship, surely there’s something in here that can help. Despite being “King of Pirates,” our girl doesn’t have a single brain cell nor survival skills and has only gotten this far in life through sheer luck (and a god’s blessing or two). The trunk she brought does not contain anything useful for the situation, just a bunch of dead weight. She is helpful to the camp by raising people’s spirits with her optimism and willingness to help out wherever she can. . Oleander is absolutely disgusted by the poor planning of this event. Although, this patch of dirt doesn’t seem too different from much of the Mortal Realm anyway. If he were in charge, things would be very, very different. And so, he has started surveying the other contestants, searching for those useful enough to gather into an army. And, of course, which ones he will need to eliminate first to eliminate any competition. The shiny rock that he brought is definitely not useful, being only good for decoration. It doesn’t matter, though, as he has become even more protective of it during the current circumstances and won’t let anyone close to his treasure. He isn't truly in any danger, not having the same requirements as the mortals but he does enjoy the chaos. . BABES i can NOT believe i actually got this in (with the extension) we are ONE MINUTE to deadline rn. I have had such a week. I did a little color planning and a quick sketch earlier this week but did almost everything today (timelapse included) which is definitely the fastest i’ve ever worked. Top OC Round 1 !! - Entry on slide 1 - Extension pass used - Uh oh !! All the rooms in the hotel were booked and everyone had to camp outside! Both Erin and Laura are pretty bummed out by this as they were looking forward to the hotel. - Laura initially decided to help by gathering sticks for a campfire. She managed to find some flowers and got very excited with the idea of making flower crowns to try and make some friends her. Her excitement somehow led to her falling into some water and getting soaked (she has already pretty much dried off by the time of this picture), and her job was changed from collecting sticks to just. Poking the fire. Making sure it doesn’t go out. Laura’s crown isn’t very useful in this situation but hey— it makes her feel confident. Erin is going around collecting some sticks to keep the fire going (as well as some more flowers for Laura’s flower crown idea) She’s also generally trying to keep watch of the area. Erin’s sword definitely has some uses, it can be used as a tool and Erin is definitely glad she brought it as she’s still very hesitant to be around this many unfamiliar people, and in such an unfamiliar place. - Used a bit of a simpler style than I did for the audition round, in part for time and in part to make it more cohesive with the background without absolutely. Mako rolled their eyes at the news. “Great, just my luck.” As eager as they had been to leave the mob life, they still had a taste for the finer things that was proving difficult to sate. The hotel would’ve at least made the transition easier. Annoyance rose at the thought of going another day without a soothing bath, but they freshened up the best they could anyways. They cracked open their trunk and changed into more fitting clothes for the campgrounds. Well, at least he wasn’t alone in his misfortune, and quite a few of the other contestants were already doing the dirty work of setting up shelter and gathering supplies. One woman even came over to spread some of her survival wisdom. He was relieved. His typical “survival” tactic was to sit around and look pretty. But if he’s going to begin fending for himself, he might as well start by contributing to the group. . Don’t let her sour look and sharp sword deter you— she’s offering her eclectic collection of furs to other contestants to help them keep warm! Mako never goes anywhere without a coat wrapped around herself, and over the years she was performing (and thieving) for the Fin, she managed to rack up quite the collection. Although, not all of them are exactly to her taste, and she’s going to have to travel light now that she’s on the run. So they’ve raided the depths of their trunk for things to get rid of- I mean, donate! Top OC round 1! Instead of making themselves useful to the others, Boonie and Slasher went to find somewhere to settle down, being unable to get comfortable until they find a dark, dry place. Slasher is stressing about being out in the day as they struggle to function in the higher light levels, and Boonie worrying about the rain forecast for later- although that won’t be an issue for now as he’s happily in Slasher’s backpack. After walking around for a while and getting some help, they’re able to find a clearing in the denser parts of the woods next to a small, deep river. Although Boonie isn’t too happy about setting up that close next to water- he gets over it quickly since Slasher is still so exhausted after wandering around for so long in the daylight. Some hours pass since they arrived there, more people have started to move in around the nearby areas, no real progress has been made on the tent, Slasher is still exhausted. They set out a blanket on the floor, and another in the trees to protect from the rain for the sake of both of them, but mainly Boonie. Slasher decides to take a nap to try and recover from all the energy they used trying to get there, asking Boonie, in a kind of dazed way, if they could try and make a tent instead of going to the effort of making one with the supplies they gathered. - They use the umbrellas for the reasons they brought them along- Slasher’s blocks off the light from the other campers nearby and Boonie’s is above their head next to the blanket to stop any rain, the blanket doesn’t do the best job at it since it wasn’t built for rain. Top Oc 2024! [Team Chaos] Being forced to camp wasn't an issue for Goldie. After all, he's a traveller and frequently camps out. All he needs is in his backpack, which he conveniently brought along to this trip. Camping with CoCo, however, was another thing. He had no experience in the field and destroyed everything he was asked to help with. When asked to help gather food, however, he was more than willing, a bit too willing. Took Goldie and a few other campers full strength to keep him from running out into the woods and ripping everythingbe saw apart. The duo eventually got put on fishing duty. It went well until CoCo decided to "speed things along" by diving headfirst into the sea and grabbing as many fish as he could get his hands on. It worked, but they also got put off fishing duty after that. Safe to say in the end, Goldie was absolutely exhausted from the entire ordeal while CoCo was bored out of his mind, not being allowed to leave Goldie's field of view. Not much got done, but at least they got some handfuls of fish that they and the other campers could enjoy. Goldies backpack also came into great use for a variety of things, so that was an added bonus. Somewhere along the way, CoCo's beloved balloon had disappeared from their designated spot, and yet another batch of pure chaos erupted. Top OC Round 1! 🌟 🌟What will you do to help at the camp? “I’ve been doing whatever I can to help out around the camp! This morning I helped set up tents and gathered fire wood. After that, everyone was thirsty, so I went to the well to grab a bucket of water. When I had the bucket in my hands, someone pushed me in! Now the bucket and rope are at the bottom of the well and I’m soaking wet.” 🌟What do you think about the situation? “I will admit, I was looking forward to sleeping in a bed tonight, but sometimes the unexpected happens. You just have to roll with it. Luckily, I have a tent in my pocket for just such a situation!” 🌟Is the prop you chose for the Audition useful for you in this situation? “I’m actually not sure where I put my lute. I set it down to help someone who got tangled up in some rope, and when I turned around, it was gone. I’d like to tell some stories and sing some songs later, so I hope I can find it again. Dana was actually very exited to finally sleep in a bed after what have been days of walking and camping but at this point a day or two won’t make a difference. Balduin is actually quite happy about the whole things since he loves spending time in nature. Dana decided to tell some spooooky story at the campfire to lift the mood while Balduin just prepares some marshmallows. The props they brought could potentially be useful but Dana will try to refain from swinging that sword around. We don’t want anyone to get hurt. [entry slide 2!] "you don't have to help me..." "well it's more fun than watching you fail to catch fish." — with the news of their situation coming to light, cain wouldn't consider himself all that chagrined by it; being in the wild isn't all that new to him, but he'd have to say that not having to be self-sufficient and being delegated to help out in some way definitely is. Mia has finally finished reading her book! But oh no, what unfortunate news awaited; the hotel turned out to be double booked?! For @top.oc ‘s R1: we’re left in the wild! Well, Mia did try to expect the unexpected–with the chaos she's heard here from previous years–not this kinda mundane thing. Sadly, such event can't be solved by her trusty Chimaeran Handbook, or any other books she's brought. "Oh, darn, I should've brought more books for a lil' book fort... Is it time to go home already...?" Mia pouted, muttering to herself. But as she reads on Lady Acette's letter further, "W-wait, outside? Really?!" She beams, "How exciting!" With that, Mia feels the joy for a lil' detour of endless possibilities of outdoor adventures! But before that, she'll be helping with setting up camp. Her bro had told her to try & make friends here at a pace & method she's comfortable with. What more better way is it than to intrigue others with her magic? Top OC Round 1: Left In The Wild Mori wasn’t bothered by the change of plans. She’s been putting up with all the pageantry and finery that the other Gods seem to fancy so much for thousands of years, but she has never felt at home there. As reserved and formal of an air as she gives off, she still struggles with all the etiquette rules and social minutiae that she’s always failing to maintain, and it all leads to more hushed whispers and suspicious glances. The wild is where she feels most comfortable anyway, so the impromptu camping trip suited her just fine. What she felt less prepared for were all the PEOPLE to contend with. She tossed aside the bouquet she had brought, useless now that there was no welcoming party to win over, but then didn’t know what to do with herself. Most of the contestants seemed pretty jovial, or at least too wrapped up in their own issues to notice the Death Goddess in their midst, but she knew it was only a matter of time before public opinion turned against her. It was fair; they had no reason to trust her, when all she does is sow fear and bear bad news. Mori ultimately decided that the best way she can be helpful is to simply disappear, lurking from the shadows and standing guard, ready to assist any departed souls (although the ideal number of departed souls in this competition is zero). Her apprentice Phoenix, who tagged along as moral support, protested this decision— not only was Mori not making any friends if all she did was hide, but she also has godly powers that could be super useful. If you could build portals to anywhere or summon matter from nothing, why would you just leave the mortals to do all the heavy lifting?? But Mori refused, repeating that it was better this way so she didn’t scare anyone. Ripened fruits were clustered in the branches of overhanging trees, meticulously being plucked by the pale serpentine merman holding a basket. Underneath the waves swam Odessa, darting in and out of the lush corals after shoals of fish with a gleeful demeanour, already having gathered a good amount on the drying rack nearby. "We don't have to share with the others, do we?" Kier suddenly asked, revealing the thought behind his tense expression. Odessa gave her father a raised brow, moving her new catch onto the line with the others, "I don't think they can find food for themselves. We can't just let them starve." "They serve no purpose to us." "That's not the point, it won't do us any harm to help them." "..." ___________________ 2. Are their props useful? The trident will certainly be useful for hunting, but the crown won't server any good use, other then perhaps being a shiny lure for fish.

i hate instagram cropping (entry on slide 2) story: hearing the news that everyone would be stuck in the great outdoors, brandon was rather delighted. nature always made him feel at peace, which was something he really needed, because the last few weeks had been an avalanche of stress and frustration. brandon loves helping others, so he spent most of the day helping other campers with various small tasks and pitching tents, before finally deciding to try and light a fire. he had never done it before- he had only used his magic to create energy waves (which can't light things on fire- only break stuff). in fact, he had never seen such things like water or fire manipulation before (until he came to the camp where he saw some characters doing those very things- he was very impressed), but he wanted to try. the camp seemed to need more people to create fires. first, he tried to force it out with pure determination, like any other magic he would normally do. it wasn't enough. next, he tried manifesting the fire in his head, willing it into existence- it also did not work. a little annoyed, he sat down to re-read the contents of his journal, where some of his most recent entries contained angry scribblings. this gave him an idea. he closed his eyes and channeled all the anger and frustration he felt prior to coming to topoc into the form of fire. the next thing he knew, it was flowing from his hands and he opened his eyes in amazement. he was really doing it! [ENTRY SLIDE 2] annaisha returns for #topoc24 round one! when first informed that top oc lost their hotel bookings and would be made to camp, she just laughed. she’s a bit used to adjusting to unfamiliar spaces and situations, particularly a last minute change in location, so she was just excited to see how things would pan out. whether they got to stay in the hotel or not, she’s still competing and gets to make a ton of new friends in the process! seeing other people freak out about lack of accommodations, she decided to visit the hotel’s front desk for possible camping supplies. sure enough, they had some boxes with tents, stakes, and sleeping bags! a bit heavy to be sure, so she took off her sweater and changed into some more comfy pants to be ready to carry the weight. she hoped that setting up camp would give her the opportunity to make conversation and let her get to know the other participants. true, her little drawing she brought didn’t provide much help in terms of giving everyone a place to stay, but maybe when she finally got to stop and rest she could give it to the team leads to let them know no one blamed them for the circumstances, and that she was proud to be under their wing in diamond fox. hopefully some of the more fussy people would come around once she came back with a place to stay.. of sorts. . . . #topocdiamondfox #originalcharacter

TOPOC Round 1 - Left in the Wild Chord and Splats were initially pretty bummed about the whole camping situation, since they looking forward to staying in a fancy hotel for the first time, but there weren’t too many complaints. 🟣 ”I mean, yeah, it sucks, but we’ve always been adaptable. We’ll make it work. We always do.” 🟢 “I call being in charge of the fire!” They both don’t have very good outdoor skills, so instead they did what they could to make the campsite more comfortable. Splats used her climbing skills to hang some cozy lights, while Chord minded the fire and played some tunes. Chord’s guitar proved pretty useful, but Splats’s cans weren’t good for much so she ended up ditching her belt in the tent (or maybe because I didn’t feel like drawing it). You might be wondering how Chord is able to play without an amp? Eh, same reason Splats’s spray cans respawn in her belt once she’s used them. Video game logic. Team Dynamic Duo Guild Diamond Fox @top.oc Top Oc Round 1: Into the Wild It was a surprise when the hotel fell through. Lageen was a bit disappointed not being able to stay in a big fluffy bed but happy that the camp grounds were available. Meanwhile Ari was quite relieved to have a semblance of their life traveling during a kinda stressful time of meeting so many new people. Ari decided to help by making a campfire for everyone to stay warm and make food. Lageen did start to help setting up the wood for the fire before deciding to sing and dance to help boost the morale of others. She wanted to help others enjoy the outdoors even if this wasn’t exactly planned. Ari’s clarinet is safely in its case with her and Lageen’s rock keeping guard of it. Job: Making beds Attitude: Happy Prop Usefulness: none As Kathy has spent lots of time in caves, she’s more than fine camping out. Being in a forest is nice to her since she does love plants, even if she doesn’t know how to care for them. Since all she brought was Cactus, she certainly doesn’t have a sleeping bag, and others probably are missing them as well, so to help out she will be digging beds or building beds out of the dirt from the holes, because why wouldn’t people wanna sleep in the dirt! It’s great! She’s also got some extra dirt that they could make into mud pies and have some fun with, and since she doesn’t like fire, just like everyone else, she’s got some extra dirt set aside to throw on any “accidental” fires that are started (since even campfires should be put out to her). Her prop from auditions, Cactus, is not very useful in this situation. ———————————————— I forgot Ball last year but I remembered him this year!!! 🌲Left in the wild🌲 Top oc round 1 @top.oc As soon as they heard there were no free rooms Elijah just sighed and changed back into his usual clothes, he didn't enjoy the purple anyway. Getting Ophelia out of the dress was however more of a fight but she soon forgot about it once she got to talk to the people around who were just as confused as her on what to do in the current situation. Elijah and Talitha (@melatte.lsa ) decided to stick together and build a little makeshift tent out of her long skirts and some pillows he... borrowed from the hotel when they got kicked out. Can't forget aboit Ophelia's teddy bear, it was also there for comfort, the very reason she brought it to the auditions. Ophelia was also keeping herself busy by bothering the other contestant, specifically El (@absent.mind.606 ) becasuse she was mesmerized by her magic and begged her to teach her a spell as well. After getting her wish granted she ran back to tell her father. With a last sad look at the sword he carefully sharpened for the auditions Elijah decided to make himself usefull and chop some wood even if it dulls his blade. That's what he heard his daughter runing towards him excited to show him something. She tried really hard but still fumbled her words and the result was... well his broadsword is now pocket sized. Elijah stared at it in silence for a few seconds before giving a small pained smile to Ophelia "You did really well but maybe we shouldn't play with magic anymore" Change of plans, they are now offering emotional support with Ophelia handing out marshmallows to everyon and Elijah staying at camp and carving wooden ducks for anyone to grab if they like. This wouldn't be the first time they had to sleep outdoors and while they were usually a bit better prepared neither of them minded too much. It did stress Elijah out a little bit because he knew it would be hard to keep and eye on Ophelia with so many people in the forest, the curious rascal wouls try to talk to all of them.
