Briley Update: What a great weekend it has been so far! Briley got to meet @nikko_leila_theweiners mom Sara yesterday when she visited us in Plymouth. He enjoyed his walk to Plymouth Rock and a nice stroll through the Brewster Gardens. Today, he’s the guest of honor at a family BBQ. He has been eating well and has great energy. He has improved a bit each day this week! Your prayers are helping so much! God has blessed Briley (and us) greatly. Wednesday he goes to the oncologist for us to test his tumor. We are looking for a foster or foster-to-adopt home for this beautiful senior girl. Kawaii is 14 years old and lost her owner when she had to enter a care facility. A family member had her safely until she can find a good foster home at our rescue. She is friendly and recently had a dental. She’s ok around older children and good with other dogs (cats unknown). She loves to be close to her people, and experiences separation anxiety when alone so would do best in a home with other companion dogs and a family with a staggered schedule or a person who is home most of the time. PLEASE PRAY FOR BRILEY. Yesterday, he became very weak and struggled to stand up on his own. Today, I brought him to urgent care, thinking he may be dehydrated, and found out news that is so difficult to write. Briley has a very large tumor in his abdomen that has spread and attached to his liver. The vet believes it may have also spread to his spine, which is why he cannot stand up or walk. We did not expect to find out Briley has cancer, let alone in multiple places. He had an ultrasound at the oncologist 4 weeks ago and there were no tumors in those places. He had needle aspirations done on his prostate and spleen to rule cancer out 2.5 months ago. This is such a shock to us, as we believed he was on the road to recovery. I am so thankful for the last 3 weeks we had together, when Briley was showing improvement. Now, our goal is going to be to keep him comfortable. He does not seem to be in any pain, his breathing and heart are strong, and he seems very content just resting in my arms. PLEASE PRAY BRILEY HAS NO PAIN🙏🏻 We don’t know if we have hours, days, weeks, or miraculous time left with him, but we are going to treasure every single second. Tomorrow, Briley turns 18.75. Thanks for all your support! We're exhausted. . Just over one week ago, Gretel was "fine". Then we thought we might have to say goodbye. Then, we decided on abdominal surgery under emotional duress. . Yesterday, we discovered we chose wisely as we received the best news possible. The tumor on her spleen was not cancerous, and her liver wasn't affected. She's 14.5, so another health issue could pop up, but this surgery was considered "curative". . Thank you all for your support, words of encouragement, virtual hugs, and positive thoughts. An extra special thanks goes out to @dr_buzbys_toegrips @bluepearlvet in Renton, WA, Valley Veterinary Hospital in Ellensburg, WA and @trupanion. It takes a village ❤️ . George update: We wanted to let everyone know George is still with us. Why? Because he won’t stop wagging his little tail and we owe it to him to do some bloodwork and see where he is at before we make any decisions. Here is what we found: George has kidney disease, likely Cushing’s, a very bad eye ulcer, ear infection and a UTI, among other more minor things. We are treating his eye with three kinds of drops, the UTI and his ears. He is still hospice but we have resolved to give him some happy days until his tail doesn’t wag anymore or he lets us know it’s time. The seizures are still a concern and we are also considering those in terms of quality of life. Thank you to those that donated to his care without being asked that allowed us to make him comfortable for whatever time he has left. This little guy is enjoying his foster parents and siblings and appreciative for their care and love. Thank you everyone!

Hello, Dear Friends- Ana and I had the pleasure of hosting the oldest guest ever - meet 18.5-year-old Oscar Ketchup @oscarketchup 🤗!! I’ve been following him for a while and I was very excited to meet him IRL. Despite facing some challenges associated with his age, such as hearing loss, arthritis, and sleep disturbances, Oscar is a very healthy boy. Whenever he wanted to eat, drink, or go to the bathroom, he would let me know by bossy yet cute grunting, and I received many service requests 🛎️😂. Oscar is not used to being around other pups, but he liked Ana and Angie🩷. He would go up to Angie’s bed to sit with her ( pls swipe ➡️) and also enjoy the stroller ride with Ana to run errands with me or go to the pier for fresh air. Toward the end of his stay, he started asking for my attention as well, and I couldn’t be happier🙌.
