2013 WAU was reissued again, this time on pink marbled vinyl. However Jerry was back too with live album entitled DeA.D. Alive! This is the gold vinyl with red & black splatter and limited to 100 copies released by Misfits Records. A-side includes songs only from Devils Rain album and if that's not for you, then move on. Out of the only few good songs on Devils Rain, 2 are included here, Land Of The Dead & Dark Shadows. B-side on the other hand is a bit more interesting as it begins with 3 American Psycho songs and then we get to hear Scream & Helena from Famous Monsters album, then one cover and it ends with another Famous Monsters banger Saturday Night. Jerrys voice isn't as good as Michaels which is a fact and some songs really suffer from that like Dig Up & Saturday Night. Bass is also too loud on this recording but at least they had the guts to keep the mistake in the beginning of Scream. I love to hear mistakes on live recordings as then I know it's real live and not some fake studio live. Things happen when you play live and it's not always perfect, sometimes far from it. I'm not biggest fan of live recordings in general but maybe for 2 of you it might be interesting to hear some AP & FM songs sung by Jerry. 2011 Jerry was back with 2 releases and this is one of those, 12" maxi single entitled Twilight Of The Dead. This is clear vinyl with red splatter and limited to 150 copies and I have to admit that this vinyl colorway looks cool. This maxi includes 2 songs which are both taken from the full-length album entitled Devils Rain. These songs are Twilight Of The Dead & Land Of The Dead. The latter being better one of the two and both are better ones from Devils Rain which indicates that it's not exactly a masterpiece. Jerry released these same songs already in 2009 on Land Of The Dead 12" maxi single with Robo on drums and I actually prefer those versions. But for this release the drummer was changed to Eric "Chubacabra" Arce. Back in 2008 Lost Tracks was released on vinyl but since I just posted the Lost Tracks 2CD I didn't feel like posting that on vinyl. No figures nor books seemed to be released then and Jerrys camp was being silent too. So with that said this is Danzig Live In Hamburg 1991 unofficial live LP. I got this sometime back in the nineties when I was bying anything I could find which had Danzig, Misfits or Samhain logo on it. Internet was already taking baby steps but there wasn't YT or any streaming platforms to listen to any of this stuff. Intro on this LP is Cwn Anwnn from Black Aria. Guitar solo is more like a long guitar intro than actual solo with some shredding. The cover and B-side label states that Pain In The World is the last track but after that comes Twist Of Cain. Misfits at Bob's Place in South Central LA on October 7th, 1982. Here are @earlliberty's words on that night from my book "Punk: Photos From A Fan's Perspective": "Bob’s Place was upstairs above a liquor store in South Central Los Angeles, and it was the night the Misfits headlined the show along with Social Distortion and The Necros. At that time, I was a roadie for them. As the show went on, we heard that there was some bad stuff going on outside. After the show, people kept coming in and telling us that there were people outside who were not digging and that we were “in their neighborhood.” There was this rather big woman from the neighborhood saying, “What are you guys doing here…you don’t belong here!” She ended up taking a swing at someone and cracked them pretty good in the face. When we were in the parking lot next to the van after the gig, I remember Jerry and Doyle pulling out these “props” that actually looked like real weapons. They were these sticks that had a chain with a metal ball with spikes on it. They started swinging those around, and the gang bangers yelled, “We are going to get our guns!”. We got everything in the van and took off as fast as we could. THE CRIMSON GHOST It was 1946 when the coolest villain ever, an evil mastermind with a smiling skull-face in a hoodie, had a successful birth. A criminal mastermind known as the Crimson Ghost is out to steal a device called the Cyclotrode, which can short-circuit all electrical currents on the planet. Every serial has spirited fight scenes, but “The Crimson Ghost” really pushes it. The actors and stunt men do a lot of leaping off of furniture and nicely executed choreography, anything to give the ticket-buyer his 50 cents’ worth. The Crimson Ghost is popularly known as part of the iconography of the horror punk band Misfits. They first made use of the character's likeness in a flyer promoting one of their gigs on March 28, 1979 at Max's Kansas City, after vocalist Glenn Danzig and bassist Jerry Only came across a picture of the Crimson Ghost while searching for images to silkscreen on T-shirts. The band later incorporated an image of the Ghost on the cover artwork of their single "Horror Business", first released on June 26, 1979. The Crimson Ghost became a recognizable mascot and logo for the band throughout their career and has become somewhat of a pop culture icon as a result.
