📖 Marius, Marcel Pagnol J’étais bien obligée de lire ENFIN Marius de Pagnol. Il s’agit en fait d’une pièce de théâtre, ce que j’ignorais lorsque j’ai démarré cette lecture. Cette pièce prend place dans les années 1920, sur le port de Marseille, au bar de la Marine, tenu par César et son fils, Marius. Ce dernier est partagé entre son amour pour Fanny, la jeune vendeuse de coquillage qu’il connaît depuis la plus tendre enfance, et son désir d’embarquer en mer, de parcourir le monde. Ce fut une lecture vraiment agréable. On est d’emblée transporté dans l’ambiance de ce café, à proximité du port, auprès de tous ces personnages qui vont et viennent à longueur de journée. La pièce se concentre sur Marius et Fanny, mais elle n’oublie pas de nous dérouler un peu les récits de vie des autres personnages. Tout le cadre, le langage et l’action paraissent authentiques et la lecture est vraiment fluide. L’écriture sans fioriture de Pagnol fait de cette pièce une œuvre plutôt légère, bien que Marius ait un choix déterminant à faire. #pagnol #marcelpagnol #marius #mariuspagnol

AVIS LECTURE : Marius en BD ... Je remercie @babelio_ pour l'envoi de cette BD reçue dans le cadre de la masse critique graphique. J'attendais de découvrir la trilogie marseillaise autrement que dans mes lectures d'ados... J'ai été servie : la lecture m'a rappelé l'ambiance et le charme des films en noir et blanc qui ont bercés mes envies de découvrir Marcel Pagnol. Tout y est : l'ambiance chaleureuse, l'humour tendre, le caractère bourru de certains personnages aux grands coeurs, rien ne manque !! Le point fort de cette BD est vraiment l'ambiance habilement mis en œuvre par les scénaristes et illustrateurs : on entends presque l'accent chantant et la chaleur de Marseille : les décors sont sublimes ! Les dessins sont très réalistes, parfois un peu trop anguleux à mon goût. Le caractère bien trempé des personnages est habilement mené par un découpage des répliques qui donne au tout un rythme et un dynamisme au service de l'histoire. Today Marius inaugurated his temple to Honos et Virtus financed with the war spoils of the Cimbrian wars which had lasted a full 12 years. It is interesting to read a quick overview of its architecture and the logic behind it, integrating concept, meaning and form: (From “„History of the arts and sciences of the antients” by Rollin. Printed in London MDCCXXXVII (1737)) THIS fourth kind of #temple is called #Periptera, from having pillars all around it. an #Hexastyle, that is, having six pillars in front: it has eleven on each side, including those at the corners. The example #Vitruvius gives of it, is the temple of virtue and honour built by #Marius, and adorned with a portico all around it by Mutius the architect. St. #Augustin mentions this temple, and tells us, that the fore part of it was dedicated to virtue, and the back-part to honour, in order to eftablith a refined morality; to which Vitruvius adds a circumftance, omitted by that #Saint, that makes for the same effect: viz. that this temple had no “posticum”, or back-door, as moft others had : which intimates, that it is not only neceffary to pas through virtue to arrive at honour, but that honour obliges her votaries to return also through virtue; that is to lay, to perfevere and improve in it. In the plan there is a back-door defigned, confor-mably to what Vitruvius lays down as effential to this kind of temples.
