今日、カルッキラの映画館ライカで初公開された映画「The Nettle Dress」(イラクサのドレス)をみて来ました。 ある男が、亡くした妻を思いながら、7年かけて、イラクサから繊維を取り、それを紡ぎ、織り、ドレスに縫う、ドキュメンタリー映画。 糸を紡ぐ事からテキスタイルの道に入った私は、美しい映画の中で紡ぐ彼をみながら、ずっと自分も紡いでいました。彼がどうやって独楽を操り、唾をつけて、どの様に糸を引くか、を追いながら。 私も昔は一年かけて一作作っていた。今でもそれを続けている日本の友人にもこの映画を見せたい。 Tänään kävin katsomassa elokuvan "The Nettle Dress" Kino Laikassa Karkkilassa. Se on myös prosessi, jossa hän käsittelee vaimonsa menetystä. Aloitin urani tekstiilialalla kehräämällä lankaa, kun katselin hänen kehräämistään kauniissa elokuvissa, minusta tuntui siltä, että kehrään lankaa hänen kanssa. Seurasin, miten hän käsitteli värttinää ja miten hän veti lankaa. Joskus minäkin köytin noin vuosi yhden työn tekemiseen. This process begins by setting up the frame loom with a warp, the vertical threads stretched tightly across the loom. The weaving itself involves interlacing weft threads horizontally over and under the warp threads. Tapestry weaving allows for intricate designs and patterns by changing the colors and thicknesses of the weft yarns. Once the weaving is complete, the coasters are removed from the loom, and the warp ends are tied off or woven back into the piece.
