This is a picture that was taken on Diwali, by my daughter’s friend @_ahana.singh_. While I was busy being a hostess to a house full of lively young people that just brightened up our Diwali, Ahana asked me to pose in front of this painting in our living room. 139/366 - a walk in the woods I went for a walk today, actually managed to wear two shoes instead of one shoe and a plastic cast. It probably wasn't the wisest choice but I have no regrets, it was warm, the sun shone, the trees and grass were lush and full and it made my heart sing. Hello everyone, it's been awhile. I've barely picked up a brush in the last couple months. Needed to paint today, and to do so without an agenda...to let the paint and the water tell me what it needed to be. Oftentimes it's these unfinished sketches that I get the most out of. Recently, I created this acrylic painting. I like to call a 🌱Forever Leaf🌱 Sometimes, especially my alocasia's, tend to get rid of some of their leaves, so when my macrorrhiza was throwing a leaf, I snipped it and dried it for a few months. It is chronically painfully hard to dry Alocasias since they are almost completely comprised of water, whilst the actual skin of the plant is thinner than paper. They usually tend to Rot away before they ever dry out. Luckily, not this one, which is why I could overlay it on the canvas. I sealed it with laqure and re-painted it as though it were still alive.
